"Yeah… but there could be premanent damage to your life force…" said Silver worriedly, "I'm going to break the link, we need to see if we can undo as much of the damage as possible, Asap." he said, "And Aurelius, you'll remember everything when you wake up, so you have to stay calm okay?"
"I'll try. No promises," he replied.
A shimmery film layered over the blackness and flashing images, and everything started to fade to a light gray as Aurelius began to wake up.
His eyes flew open as an odd pain and tingling settled on his limbs. He groaned and ran a hand through his hair.
"Gods… I feel awful."
Silver moved his hands back, suddenly very pale and a little shaky. "You alright?" he asked, quietly, concerned.
"Probably," Aurelius replied softly, "How about you?"
"Just… a little tired…" he said, looking up at him, hoping he wasn't too pale, knowing that this would've drained all of his aura for at least a day.
"A little, huh?" Aurelius asked, sighing, "Silver, you should get some rest."
Silver sighed, "I'm fine, it's you we should be worried about.."
"Uh… yeah…" Aurelius murmured, "This is a problem. And I think that might be an understatement."
Silver nodded, "I'm gonna go get Alex in here, he'll be able to help reverse the damage.." he said, moving to get to his feet, clearly shaky and out of it.
"Careful there," Aurelius said, "You don't look great. Isn't there someone outside? Get them to find him, maybe?"
Silver shifted to wolf form, half afraid he'd fall, "I'll be fine, you stay here."
"O-okay," Aurelius said.
It wasn't as if he could actually do anything about it.
"I'll be here, then."
Silver nodded padding outside. he came back about 10 minutes later with Alex at his heels, the gold haired warrior seeming concerned as Silver explained what had happened.
Aurelius' icy eyes followed Silver and Alex closely as they entered the tent.
"You never said what exactly this could mean long-term," he said softly, "I'd like to know. You only said permanent damage."
Silver sat down again, "Permanent damage, could mean being extremely suceptable to aura drain, and easy exhaustion." he started, "Not to mention it'll make it easier for you to get sick, and a particularly bad bout of a typically minor disease could turn out to be fatal in the future…" he explained, "Other than that, and a few other things related to it, I don't even know…."
"Oh, lovely," Aurelius replied, a certain biting sarcasm in his voice.
He already got sick more often than other people, so hearing that really scared him. But it didn't scare him as much as the idea of being permanently weakened. As much as he always tried to better himself, he was usually still weaker than everyone else. If this continued forever, then he had little hope of pulling his weight.
Silver sighed, shifting back.
Alex looked his friend over. "You need a nap."
Silver glared at him. "Not now Alex."
Alex glared back. "Nap. Now. Or I'll call your brother, and pin you down so he can give you a sleeping potion."
Silver stared him down. "Not happening. Now I need you to help me help Aurelius."
"Silver…" Aurelius sighed, "A few minutes won't hurt. There are other people here who can help me here. You need to take care of yourself. You're looking rough."
"I'm fine.." said Silver.
Alex sighed, "He's not. And he knows it." rolling his eyes again he moved closer to Aurelius. "What do I need to do?" he asked.
"I'm not sure," Aurelius said quietly, "I've been unreasonably fatigued most of the time. I can barely use my magic. I've been sleeping way too much… I just generally feel off. I hardly understand what's happening to me. All I know is that it's dangerous and has to do with whatever that Aura Drain did to me."
"It's not just aura drain." said Silver, "It's touched on his life force, attempting to draw on it directly."
Alex's eyes widened, And Silver nodded, "Melody should know what to do here, and the amount of aura needed shouldn't be too hard for the two of you.." he continued.
Alex nodded, "I think I understand…"
"Is it really something that can be restored?" Aurelius asked, "It seems like something so vital being destroyed would be close to completely irreversible."
"Your life aura is what's affected when you use too much magic for a spell, so yes, it can be restored.." said Alex, "Though, I've never heard of targeting and draining a life aura on purpose, Melody says he has, and it is reversable, if you get to it soon enough.." he said, summoning a whisp of golden aura. "I'm going to see if I can use my power to restore your life aura, so bear with me ok?"
"Are you sure that's going to work? People drain their magic all the time. Permanent damage to the life aura is… strange, to say the least. Please be careful, okay?"
Aurelius straightened out his back and eyed the golden glow carefully.
Alex sighed, "My aura is stronger than most, and most people don't get the serious aura drain like me, or Silver." he placed his fingertips lightly on the other's chest. "Ready?"
