Silver finally did it. He ended up in a world of darkness, waiting for Aurelius' subconscious to find him.
Aurelius' dreams first came in little snapshots. A young woman. A vast library. Spilled ink. Drawings of dragons. He once again stirred in his sleep.
Silver saw occasional flashes of images, but there was still blackness all around him. "Aurelius?" He called out. Hoping for an answer, waiting for Aurelius' subconscious to reach out.
Aurelius felt himself fall in the middle of darkness, but he heard a distinct, familiar voice and found himself running in the direction of the voice.
"Silver!" he cried out, tearing through the dark.
Images- snippets of memories and dreams- still flashed in the background occasionally.
Silver heard him, smiling softly. good… now we can try and get to the bottom of that mystery.
"Aurelius!" He called again.
Aurelius could then see Silver's soft outline. He reached out his hand.
"Silver, I'm here!"
Silver spotted him, comjng over and huggjng him gently. "Glad this worked…" he whispered.
(Aurelius dream self should know what happened to him as far as the experiments.)
(Okay, I'll make sure to do that.)
Aurelius hugged Silver back.
"Yeah… I'm glad too. So what are you going to do here exactly?"
"I was just gonna ask if anything unusual happened to you while you were held caltive…" he said. "Unless the memory, if there is one, has been destroyed completely, you should be able to remember."
He took a few steps back.
"It might be hard to explain… I don't completely understand what happened myself. I don't think I can tell you, but maybe I can show you."
Silver nodded. "Then do so. Please…"
Aurelius reached out his hand to hold Silver's, and the darkness around them started to shift. The color scheme lightened up one, maybe two shades from the pitch blackness as the scene came to the darkness of a prison cell. Aurelius was just lying down in his cell. It was obvious this was early on in his time here, as he still looked somewhat healthy. The young man had been tracing his finger among the stones in the prison cell when a shadow cast across the floor near him.
"Get up, you're coming with me," a female guard ordered, with a particular bite to her voice.
Aurelius slowly started to stand up.
"Where are we going?" he asked.
It wasn't possible they were letting him go.
The woman hit her weapon against the metal bars, startling him into getting up faster, and she demanded he come with her, gripping him firmly around the arm. Aurelius had thought about using his magic to escape, but there were other guards here.
She kept walking him until they came upon a chamber. Other magical people were there, all of them either unconscious or screaming, or otherwise uncomfortable and unwell. Aurelius tensed up. As he looked closer to the center of the room, he saw various devices that looked like chairs and tables with heavy restraints.
"Alright, strap 'em in!" a gruff man's voice echoed. He motioned towards the guard with Aurelius.
She yanked him aside and started to cuff him to a table. Aurelius tried to resist a little, but he feared for his life so much that he dared not rebel.
That was when he saw a bright purple glow and started to feel very tired, like his energy was being sapped away.
"Very potent energy this one has," a third person said, "Make sure to keep him alive, at least as long as he can last. He'll definitely be back for more later."
Silver's eyes widened at the glow, seeming to recognize what was happening. Suddenly he was very very glad he was a luna element. "Oh.. my god…" he whispered. "We need to tell the others about this…"
Aurelius was lead, stumbling and barely able to walk, back towards his cell. Back in the room where they had done the magic drain, he could hear screams and cries for mercy. Perhaps he was the lucky one.
One of the guards threw him back into his cell without supporting him, and his legs gave out. He laid prone on the stone floor, and everything started fading to black. The dreamscape was blank once more, with the occasional flicker of an image.
Silver was pale. "That was no ordinary energy drain…." he said quietly. "Aurelius… I hate to say it but you're lucky to be alive…."
"Lucky, huh?" he laughed, "Well, that explains a lot, doesn't it? That wasn't the last time either. The process got progressively more painful as they kept doing it."
"I can imagine.." ssid Skye worriedly, "the spell they were using was no ordinary aura drain, it was created to target someones life aura.."
"Oh…" Aurelius fell silent. He didn't completely understand what had happened, but now he had a much better idea.
(Can I stalk?)
(Oh cool! Hey Stark! That's fine with me.)
(Lol)
"Oh…" Aurelius fell silent. He didn't completely understand what had happened, but now he had a much better idea.
Silver nodded. "And not to be selfish or anything… but I'm glad they didn't use me too… or I'd most likely be dead by now…."
"Not wanting to be dead isn't selfish," Aurelius replied, "I'm happy I was used instead, as I apparently managed to tolerate whatever they were doing to me, even repeatedly."
