Hm… do you even think his face is well-known around here? People don't seem to be waving or smiling at him for now, Septima said, He hasn't really made an effort to greet anyone either.
Hm… do you even think his face is well-known around here? People don't seem to be waving or smiling at him for now, Septima said, He hasn't really made an effort to greet anyone either.
No… he's well known… said Skye, watch the people's faces.
Septima took her gaze off Jackson for a moment.
Ah, it's very subtle… Good eye.
She quietly kept following Jackson.
Skye nodded, studying the subtle fear, and even hatred in the eyes of the citizens.
They're tyrants, aren't they? Something along those lines…
She shook her head.
And to think they have the nerve to act all nice to us because we're supposedly higher-ups. Disgusting.
My thoughts exactly. said another voice on the link.
Whom the- Arthur? Is that you?
Septima physically jumped a little at first, but Jackson wasn't looking her way, so he didn't notice.
who else? said Arthur, FYI I'm currently trackjng you three.
Right, keep an eye on anyone our companion interacts with. said Skye.
Yeah… it's just been a while since you've spoken to me at least. Is everything going okay?
Septima felt a chill go down her spine. This man was hated for something he did, yet somehow still looked at other royals and servants with a big smile and friendly demeanor.
Everything's fine. And if you were gonna bring up what happened before I ditched you two then don't. he said, the last sentence coming harsh.
No… I hadn't really been thinking about it too much. I know what's my business and what isn't, she replied calmly.
Even if it was, that's not our focus right now.
Exactly. And you really don't need me distracted. he said.
Skye pulled up next to her as Jack came to a stop at a strange shop, dismounting and heading inside. Soon after a cloaked man went after him.
Septima looked to Skye.
"Should we go with him?"
Man, this place looks sketchy… what could it be?
"Arthur will be fine on his own." Said Skye calmly.
Arthur slipped down the steps and behind a shelf, watching as the prince bartered for a specific powder from another alchemist.
"Wait… oh, that was- oh. Sorry, I'm not the sharpest blade in the arsenal."
Septima ran her fingers through her dark hair.
"I was asking if we should go with Jackson at first…"
"Again. No. That would be rude." Said Skye, watching as Jackson came out again.
Weird that he asked us to come if we can't assist him with errands or anything. Why's he want us out here?
Septima crossed her arms. Something was quite unusual about this. She looked at Jackson to see if he had come out with some sort of product, but he must've already put it away. Perhaps Arthur had seen it at least.
Hey Arthur. What'd he come out to get? asked Skye,
He just bartered for crelith. said Arthur, In other words we just found our Alchemist.
We found an alchemist. There could be more, right?
Septima bit her lip.
Although, with any luck… we could destroy part of their vital team if we take him down. Not necessarily kill, but… you know.
I doubt that. said Arthur. *our sort tend to work alone. Sure there may be others in the city, but not around the palace.,
I wouldn't know much about alchemy, Septima admitted, Aurelius' mother, Cassia, dabbled in it, but that's about all of my exposure to alchemy.
She rubbed her hands together.
But that makes our job easier. We mess him up in some way, that's a huge setback.
Arthur sighed mentally. I think we might be adjusting our game plan. he said.
Skye nodded, yeah, seeing as Arthur is the only Alchemist here, and neither of us can read the texts, or understand the potions.
What are you suggesting we do? Septima asked, Is there a way for you to remain closer to us, Arthur, so you can read the texts and whatnot?
Not really… said Arthur, Not unless I switch places with Skye
You’re joking… How would you do that? Septima asked.
