(Ty! <3)
(I don't necessarily want to spam the RP chat with their private lives, which don't quite have any impact on the plot, so… xD I'm not sure what to do~ Might just end up just lurking until I see a fresh opportunity…?)

@blue_topaz

Fae struggleds to keep her cheeks from turning red. “Sure!”, she said, years of acting class kicking in and keeping her embarrassment from surfacing. “The lunch I brought issmall anyway.”, she said, attempting nonchalance. “Have anywhere in mind?”

@KalamariCakes

He smiled wider at her acceptance, posture leaning with more confidence on the counter. "There's a European bakery down the road by the street corner, if you don't mind taking a walk in the cold together," he added, crossing his ankles. Though his body language seemedto ooze casual interest, his insides were tight with fear of rejection.

(X'D <3 Aw, Lol! I will if you want.. Let me know if and when you want me to stop, though.)

Their house was now a quaint little thing, lingering on the outskirts of the city in a somewhat run-down neighborhood. The two slowly made their way along the sidewalk, a mutual silence having fallen between them as the house gradually came into view.

As the building neared, Kennedy withdrew a deep breath, attempting to settle the note of pained disdain that had strung up in her chest. She glanced up at Seyton, who watched the house as they approached with a developed, calm expression. Almost able to read him as well as he was probably aware of her, the girl returned her eyes to the small building, recalling his words and repeating them in her head as she forced out another breath, settling herself into a somewhat saddened, gloomy acceptance.

Seyton led the way up to the door, feeling his insides already beginning to tightly pent themselves up in his chest, keeping a strict, careful guard on his emotions and thoughts. His and his fingers gingerly curling around the doorknob and twisting, slowly opening the front door and stepping aside to allow his younger sister to enter first, glancing at her with a blank expression.

Kennedy would've much preferred that her brother entered first, to act almost as a shield, put blatantly. But she knew that she probably deserved to enter first, as she was the one who'd be getting them both in trouble. So she pursed her lips and entered the threshold, lifting her chin slightly and allowing her eyes to sweep the interior of the house, and Seyton quietly followed behind her, and swiftly closing the door after them.

(Ooooh!!!)

Fae’s heart squirmed in her chest, beating hard. This isn’t a date, Fae, calm down!, she chided herself, trying desperately to get her emotions under control. Act calm. You took a course on acting for god’s sake, Fae! “Sure!”, she said again, smiling with an air of ease and confidence, just like her instructor had taught her. She finished rolling out the spikes and placed them neatly, but purposely a bit crooked, all the way down the adolescent dragon’s back, securing two long ones shaped like twisted gazelle horns on his clay head and laying them back. “Let’s go!”, she smiled again, opening her handbag for Leum, Grace and Smudge to fly in.

@KalamariCakes

Cruz's lip lifted in a successful grin, taking a handful of confident strides to snatch off his dark brown coat off the hanger on the back of the door. Slipping it over his shoulders and messy arms, "I can pay for your meal," he decided, pulling the zipper up to keep warm when the two would step out into the bite of winter chill. Though, he was curious what her cheeks looked like reddened with the cold. Addmittedly or not, a lot of things about this opportunity at his feet poked his curiosity.

(Her name is Sabine and she is 16. She has tan hair with red streaks running through it. Her hair is waist-long and is usually in a french braid. She is wearing a red t-shirt with a leather jacket, black pants and black boots, and a red beanie. She is very artistic and loves to paint. She suffers from a mild anxiety disorder, and people often tease her for it. She loves singing and playing the keyboard and guitar. She is kind but rebellious and stubborn. She is a bookworm and her ex-military father who is the new cop and her two military brothers taught her to defend herself and others. Sorry for the long explanation.)

@blue_topaz

(Ahhhhthe tension!!!)

“I-it’s okay, thank you. I brought money, I can.” Fae slipped on her coat and tugged her knitted scarf woven in mixed hues of light and dark blue, yellow, and mango orange. The familiar sight of the scarf brought a torrent of memories washing over her like a bittersweet wave as she remembered how her grandmother used to be. I’ll visit her at the hospital today., Fae added another item to her mental checklist as Leum peeked through the opening in her handbag, looking up at her curiously. She could hear Grace giggle cheekily from within as the pair stepped out into the nippy March wind.

@Natasha

Sabine dragged her three little sisters to the bakery that was only a few blocks away from their house. "Come on," she had said. "We need some fresh air." What Sabine really meant was, "Mom needs a break from you three." She had tossed them their jackets, then grabbed her on jacket, guitar, her book, and some money. Her mom smiled at her gratefully and told them to be back by five o'clock. Since it was almost lunch time, she decide that they would go to the bakery first. But then she wanted to check out that cute little pottery shop that she saw on their way to the bakery. When they walked into the bakery, a happy looking man asked them, "Hello there. How may I help you?"

@itsanavocado

The house was startlingly silent when they entered, and there wasn’t a trace of either parent within the main living spaces of the living room or kitchen. Kennedy felt a pit form in her stomach, and a weird mix of unease and relief flitted through her. She took a couple more steps to let Seyton walk in behind her, taking another moment to look around before turning her body and firing her older brother a confused and concerned look.

Seyton, either unaware of hey eyes or avoiding them altogether, began to remove his jacket from his shoulders and arms, and hung it up on the bar of hooks to the right of the door. After he did so, he turned and caught his sister’s eyes for a fleeting moment before moving past her, his hand briefly resting on her shoulder as he stepped around her and started into the house with regulated strides, most likely headed towards his room to finish unpacking and setting things up in there.

Kennedy secured her grip on her bag a little more, before eventually trailing after him, her own strides a little more brisk and anxious. She made her way through the house and to her room, desperately trying to keep her steps light and quick as she entered her small little chamber. Drawing a breath, she slowly set down her parcel on her bed, and shifted back to study the room that didn’t feel like her own, her arms gently folding across her chest as she stole a glance at her boxes, still piled up and untouched on the other side of the room.

She stood and thought for a while, her eyes slowly making its way around the room. Stifling a sigh, she eventually turned away from what she saw, and slowly made her way out of her room, going to seek solace in Seyton’s room.

@blue_topaz

Fae bit her lip, flustered again. "That's ok.", she repeated. "I'll pay." She pulled her wings around her. "Thank you, though.", she said to Cruz, meaning it. They approached the little bakery, and the potted aloe vera plant in a garden shop window nearby made her heart stop for a moment as the plant triggered something in her memory. She shook her head, frustrated with herself. Snap out of it, Fae. She told herself, hoping Cruz hadn't noticed anything. This isn't the hospital.

@KalamariCakes

Cruz nodded respectfully at Fae's decision, keeping his hands buried in his pockets. He acknowledged the man inside the bakery once the pair entered, "We're just going to look around for a bit til we decide what we want for dinner,"

@blue_topaz

(wait, dinner? isn't it 1:15?)

Fae nodded, noticing a seagull perched on a lamp post outside, reminding her of Luri, who was one of her dragons at home.

@blue_topaz

No problemo)

Fae tensed up, mind frozen like a deer in headlights, and pretended to study the menu. “These all look so good… What do you recommend?”, she asked, trying to keep the quaver out of her voice and pressing her wings against her back to give some people walking by some more room.

@Natasha

Sabine and her sister finished their lunch. "Thank you!" She said gratefully to the man. "No problem." She then proceeded to drag her sisters to the pottery shop. Just outside of the shop, she bent down to get eye-level with her little sisters. "Each of you can pick out one little trinket of your choice. I will buy it. Look, I know that moving is hard. But we need to help Mommy and Daddy as much as we can. Moving is hard for them too. Dad lost his job, grandpa passed away, and mom and dad's friends are all in Florida too. So let's be good helpers to mom and dad, ok?" Her little sisters nodded. Satisfied, she led then into the shop. While they looked around, Sabine went straight to the man who was reading a World War 2 book at the counter. "Are you still hiring? Or do you have enough employees?"

@KalamariCakes

Cruz commented back, "The chocolate muffins here are good." He rubbed her arm lightly, murmuring, "You can relax… I don't bite," he tipped his head a little leftwards, dark eyes soft to try and reassure her muddled and tense demeanor.

Augustus looked up, taking in the flock of sisters. "Aye, uh, unfortunately, ma'am, we are.. sufficiently full right now. Can I help you anyway else..?"

@blue_topaz

“I don’t bite.” At Cruz’s words, an awful scene swam through her thoughts. A man leers at her from a dark alley. “Do you wanna ride home, sweet cheeks?”, he asks, pulling out a gun. “Sorry, Cruz.” The man pushes her up against a truck and leans in close so that she can smell his breath, holding the gun threateningly. Fae doesn’t dare call for help. “Why don’t you stay at my place for the night?” He smiles wickedly in the dusk. “I don’t bite…”, he whispers in her ear, licking his lips as he looks her up and down. “I don’t mean anything by it.”, Fae apologized. “I-I’ve just been in some—“, she paused, trying not to remember. “Tricky situations.”, she finished off, scanning the menu again. “It’s nothing personal, I swear.”, she said, worried that she had offended her kind companion. “This is just my natural response to most things because of that, sorry. I don’t usually realize I’m doing it.”, she winced, hoping she sounded as true as she was being.

@Natasha

"No, that's fine. I'll just look around for a little while. Her sister Falon ran up to her. "Look Sabine!" She showed Sabine a little trinket that she had found. It looked like a tiny guitar. Do you think that Dad would like it? He likes when you play your guitar so much, maybe it can be his lucky trinket, like Mom's bracelet. It could keep him safe while he is working at the police station!" Falon looked so hopeful. Sabine smiled and nodded. Her dad would love it. "Okay. We'll get it." She took the trinket and Falon ran off again. Sabine put the object on the table. "How much for this?"

@KalamariCakes

"No, it's fine," Cruz replied casually, giving her space. Though his lips wore a small frown, he made sure to let her know he didn't hold it against her. He knew he had a tendency to get too close too fast.

@blue_topaz

“Thanks.”, Fae replied, relieved that he understood. “Ooh, I’ve never had this before!”, she said, pointing to an item on the menu in an attempt to draw the conversation smoothly back into its formerly casual manner.

(You chose what food it is, you know the place a lot better than this :)
