Ellis looked at his brother. He was starting to get wet-eyed, twirling the dusty feather more in his fingers. "Mama's feathers fell off," his little voice cracked, "They fell and bled," he struggled, "I-it's like you.. you're stuck in.. in a…" the kid covered his face when he couldn't hold back tears.
(Kay I'm back for a minute)
Peter stood up, peering outside while he clothed himself. "It looks like it might rain," he commented, casting a brief glance to messy haired Delanie. "Storm clouds over the ocean,"
"You're kidding," she groaned, burying her face into a pillow. "I don't want to be stuck inside all day, dumb tropical rains.."
"My brothers will probably want to play in it or go fish," Peter guessed. He and his little brothers usually fashioned rods out of flayed sticks and grass. They never really caught fish, but it was still amusingly entertaining to Ellis and Harper.
Skylar got up and ran to Ellis. "No, please dont cry." She said, wrapping her arms around him. "Please. If you can, tell me more."
(Or not. There is no one here for my to interact with anyway, so I might as well just go to bed.)
He whimpered quietly, pulling his wings in against himself and shaking. He apologized profusely, his words slurred through his tears. "She got so many bad bubbles!" He whined, patting his arms, trying to describe the ugly postules he and his mother had suffered. He tried to speak more. Though his tears choked him up, and the ginger boy just crumbled into himself and against Skylar's cmfort.
Sky sighed. "I am so sorry. You dont have to go on." She held him, suddenly her eyes welled with tears, too.
His little hands clutched onto her in a trembling hug. It seemed that it was very easy for him to forget his birthday too, since everybody else had their own problems.
(Aww I’m literally crying poor Peter and Ellis!)
Macha sprinted to the hospital wing.
Skylar sniffed, and watched Ellis fir a minute. "Wait. I have something for you. Stay here.” She said, running back into the living room to grab his present.
Ellis nodded a little, sitting on the floor and pulling his skinny knees up to his chest.
Skylar came back in, hauling the bag full of Ellis's stuff. "Happy birthday!" She said, placing it in front of him
Ellis blinked at it, silent for a long time. He'd never gotten gifts, really, for his birthday, so this was certainly a bit of a culture shock to the impoverished kid. He looked back up to her quizzically, sniffling and wiping off the tears on his face.
Blake motioned for Frankie to follow him. He kept his steps quick and light, creeping down the staircase. Just as they reached the bottoma soldier patrol stomped by. Blake dragged Frankie into the shadows but one lonesome white feather drifted onto the floor within view.
Macha raced to the hospital wing, spotting a nurse outside Ace’s door. “Is he okay? Is he going to live?!”, she shook the nurse frantically, taking shallow breaths and clutching her gifts.
(Hey I'm here for a bit, is anyone else here?)
(Hi but I have to go soon.😢)
(I hope that I'll have fun. At the boarding school we're visiting, the highschool dorm only has seven or eight boys and one grip, so my dad said that the girl will be happy to have me. And my sister will fit in perfectly with the middle school dorm. XD See you guys as soon as I can.)
I accidentally may or may not have drawn John Laurens
