Frankie nodded and they advanced towards the stairs. She followed close behind him. Suddenly, out of the gloom of the basement, she heard a quiet howl. "Is that zodiac?" She hissed indicating the basement.
Frankie nodded and they advanced towards the stairs. She followed close behind him. Suddenly, out of the gloom of the basement, she heard a quiet howl. "Is that zodiac?" She hissed indicating the basement.
"I would assume so." Blake whispered back, picking up the pace. Fear raced through his veins like poison. This is for Ace. Zodiac won't hurt you. He tried to reassure himself. He clenched the gun tighter in his hand. Just in case.
Frankie hurried down the stairs after Blake before catching sight of two guards at the bottom. She nudged Blake and motioned to them. She was pretty sure he already saw them. Frankie watched as a single bead of sweat dripped down his face. He was as nervous as she was.
"Okay." He breathed out softly, meeting Frankie's eyes. "This gun doesn't have a silencer. Once I fire it, more guards will come. You need to get Zodiac and fly out of here. Don't turn back no matter what. I have wings and I'll catch up to you. For now I'll draw fire. Seeing a dead man walking should startle them a bit and buy us some time. Be brave, okay? Be strong. I love you." Blake pressed his lips to hers, hugging her close.
Frankie embraced him tightly. This might be the last time she sees him. She pulled her lips off his slowly and leaned her forehead against his. "I love you blake." She ran down the stairs towards the sound, right past the guards who looked in the direction she had come. She for one didn't look back. She came upon a cage and saw a small dragon-like creature in the corner. She beckoned to him and whispered, "Zodiac. For Ace."
Blake froze as the guards started running after Frankie. His training kicked in and his mind numbed to what his body was doing. He fired the gun twice, the bullets firing in quick succession of each other, one for each guard. He could hear shouting behind him and quickly bolted back up the stairs towards the door, clearing a path for Frankie. Sweat poured down his face and the rank smell of blood hung in the heavy air of the damp cellar. The sound of the bullets left Blake almost deaf, his ears ringing after each shot.
(Sorry, I'm back!)
"Good. I'm glad you like it. And hey, Peter will get better, I promise." Sky walked over to Ellis and gave him a big hug. "You're like the brother I never had."
"I always wanted a sister." Ellis admitted, hugging her back.
"Well, consider me your sister, then, because I always wanted a little brother." she smiled warmly.
"Ahh!" He squealed happily.
Skylar got up and walked over to Peter. "You need to get better. for us." she whispered so Ellis couldn't hear.
Zodiac looked hurt and tired. Frankie gripped the gun tightly and whacked the lock. It was frail and broke off easily. The sound of footsteps was closing behind her. Frankie opened the door rapidly and took Zodiac in her hands, running as fast as she could towards the exit. Once outside, Zodiac felt a little more confident and grew. She could clearly see he was injured at this point. The doors bust open and guards came running out. Frankie hopped on Zodiac as she began flapping her large wings. Scared, Zodiac zoomed into the air. Frankie leaned down close and whispered to Zodiac. "Go to Ace. Fast. I won't hurt you." She promised. Looking behind her she saw the guards run in, they had given up on her and were now all surrounding Blake. "Just run. Don't look back. Stay strong." Blake's words echoed in her head. She turned back and urged Zodiac on.
Blake couldn't fly. Not with the bullet holes peppering his wings and one that was lodged firmly into his soldier. He wasn't getting taken captive. It was life or death now, and as blood poured out of his body, Blake knew what was going to happen to him. "Stand down! Drop your weapon, Freak!" A voice commanded. A familiar voice. Blake laughed, agony shooting through his body as he did so. He hurled the gun at the speaker. There were no bullets left anyways. "S-So, Ben. Miss me?" Blake gave him a pained grin.
"How the hell are you alive? We have tape of you being shot!" Ben let out a slew of curses. He turned to the other soldiers surrounding Blake. "Leave me with him. We have unfinished business." He spat, snarling at them. The other soldiers quickly retreated back inside and out of sight.
"Finally gonna finish the job, huh? I'd rather die a free man anyways." Blake was swaying on his feet, the blood loss making him light headed.
"I shouldn't have ever had to see you again. And if I do ever seen you resurrected I will not hesitate to shoot you." Ben raised his gun towards the sky and fired three times, the shots ringing clearly through the air. Blake was half deaf anyways. He then kicked Blake sharply in the side, forcing him to cry out in pain and sink to his knees. "You're the absolute scum of this earth, Thorfin. And I pity your meaningless existence. You will be gone in five minutes. And you will stay dead, are we clear?" Ben snapped. Blake's nodded weakly, struggling to his feet and trudging down the street without a glance back. He didn't understand what had happened, but he decided not to question it. Not while agony arced through his body.
Blake took off from the ground, gritting his teeth in pain from each flap of his wings. He wasn't even sure he was going to make it back to the Citadel.
Guns. Frankie smacked her hands over her ears as the shots reverberated. A single tear trickled down her cheeks. Blake.

He wasn't sure how long it had been when he caught sight of the massive dragon soaring through the sky, but he put his remaining energy into flying towards them as fast as possible. His once white wings were stained red. Blood was smeared all over his face and chest. In fact, he looked like a zombie. But Frankie's red hair was locked in his sights. Too weak to cry out he struggled to catch up, hoping Zodiac would somehow sense him. Never before had he been so happy to see the dragon.
(Poor Blake and Frankie!)
(Hahaha, you guys do know that Zodiac has a tear in her wing and can't fly and that only Ace can adjust her size, right?)

(I'm at a loss for what to do at this point then. But didn't Zodiac shrink herself since she was injured? And she can still TRY to fly can't she? Sorry I left, I had volleyball.)
