"There's the catch…" Blake felt his throat constrict and his eyes water. "When are you operating? How long?"

"Today, not sure how long." the doctors turned towards the magical time-stopper. He shrugged, "I dunno, depends."

It went to voice mail and simply said, "Trouble." She hung up and began to pace impatiently in her room. Her fingers tingled and little nervous flames danced across her hand. Her hair had set on fire before but she just thought she was clumsy. She'd never touched like that. She needed Blake but he needed Ace. Frankie understood that.

"Where can I stay while this is going on? I want to be on call." Blake sighed, rubbing at his temples and suddenly feeling very old. It was hard to believe just last night he'd been kissing Frankie under the stars; drunk, young, and oblivious. It felt like years had passed. Time wasn't even a concept anymore. There was just a constant ticking of the clock and stress. Intangible concepts to Blake's strained mind.

(HA! My friend was gonna join the roleplay, but she could only get to page four and was like; this is really good but it is going to take wayy to long to read ALL of this, plus whatever you guys add on. So she didn't lol))

"C-Can I see him? Before you operate? Or is he already unconscious?" Blake's voice grew weak, cracking from the strain of withheld emotions.

Dani suddenly had an idea. "Guys when we're done in here I have an idea!"

The doctor raised an eyebrow. "Go now."

Blake nodded, and fled the room without another word. He busted into Ace's room. "Hey, man. You're gonna be okay soon. I swear it. I talked to all the doctors I could. I promise. You've gotta just be strong a little longer okay? Just a little longer." Blake fussed over Ace, making sure he was comfortable and hugging him gently.
