Ace followed Dani and Ana and pulled Dani aside. "Dani, is there anything that removes things, like I don't know, a tattoo?"
Ace followed Dani and Ana and pulled Dani aside. "Dani, is there anything that removes things, like I don't know, a tattoo?"
"Yeah" She whispered. "Right past mission control which is where we're-"Then recognition of why he was asking dawned on her. She gasped. "You have The Mark, don't you? Ace don't lie to me. I won't tell the others I promise."
"Dani, I don't know what it is. It's covering the blank space. We need to get it off."
Dani looked alarmed. "Ummm.. okay. Right after the meeting I'll take you there. But basically if it has words and is really creepy and it appeared on it's own than it's a Mark. But no one else can know about it, especially Macha. So do you have a plan? Because I'm open to suggestions." She whispered, careful to make sure that none of the others were eavesdropping.
Ana continued to look around. Her eyes not exactly watching where she was going, so there was more than a few times where she’d trip over herself. Talk about embarrassing. Her gaze went over to look at the others. Dani and Ace were talking about…something, it wasn’t her place to know anyways. Those soft hazel eyes of her swept over to Macha. These people always seemed to be trapped in memories. Just like her… Ana was unsure of how to approach this so all she did was try and give a reassuring grin. Though it was a struggle to smile at all.
Peter kept a flickering, tired gaze to the rest of them, dependent mostly against Skylar while the chance to rest was an option. He supposed he was lucky to have, perhaps, a less tragic childhood; poverty was taken less seriously then death of family or loved ones, he'd learned. And even though he's been through that, his impoverished life, still, seemed to sweep away the validity of his grief. The only thing to really do in a dog eat dog world under the poverty line, was just keep working to survive.
"No idea." Ace said. He couldn't believe this was happening again, he remembered the pain he'd felt in the alley.
Then they arrived at mission control. (Sorry idk what else to call it.) Director Axyl was waiting for them around a circular table. (like the ones in star wars)"It is good to see that you all made it in one piece! You are very lucky that Agent Shield insisted on getting you. Unfortunately, right now not all of the agents have the same capacity for patience as she does, seeing that we are at war. Dani walked over and stood beside him. "Director Axyl, there are more than two Terrors." Then she whispered in his ear," Ace has the Mark. I'm going to take him to Eric to get it off." He nodded. Then Dani turned to the others. "I have to show Ace something important. The sleeping quarters are separated into common rooms with smaller rooms for us to live in. Go to he second door to the right and make yourselves feel at home."
Dani motioned for Ace to follow her. "We're lucky that improvising is one of my stong-suits. Don't worry." She reassured him, noticing that he looked a little pale. " You'll be fine."
"Thanks, Dani," Peter yawned gratefully, resting an arm around his midsection with dull pains. His other arm reached to hold Skylar's.
Dani looked back at Peter. "No problem. Get some rest. Talking can wait. For you and Skylar anyway."
Ana was now left unsure of what to do. Probably get out of this torn hospital gown for one thing. Then what…? She held back another sigh, great… She'd probably get lost in this place within minutes.
Peter laughed a little bit at Ace's comment, heading out to the sleeping quarters.
Ace followed Dani, mind racing. His skin had gone a shade lighter and he wasn't feeling well.
Dani put her hand on Ace's shoulder. "Hold on a sec, would you?" Then she went up to the others. "Macha can you help Ana? Each room in my 'apartment' of sorts, has two bunks per room. There are four rooms. Put Ana in my room, which is the purple door, you and Skylar can have the room with the blue door, and Peter and Ace can use the room with the white door. There are already clothes laid out for you guys, similar to the outfit that Ace is wearing. And there are snacks on the table in the common room if you're still hungry." Then she turned and went back to Ace. "Come on let's go."
(You guys can describe the common room and the smaller rooms, but just so that you know the main color is white, with some colorful pillows and decorations here and there.)
Peter nodded, semi-reluctantly parting with Skylar to head to the white room.
(Hi guys! I'm back. Apologies to @TiredOtter about last night. I forgot how late it was and had to rush off to bed w/o saying anything. Sorry. I'm back now though! ^^)
(It's okay @Mish! Glad you're back!)
This was all like a dream that he'd never wake up from. Agents and organizations fighting bad guys. It reminded him of the shows Ace'd watched when he was a kid. He would cheer the good guys on and tell his mom that he was going to be a secret agent one day. She'd laugh and kiss him on the head, "For now you can be my hero and clean up your room." and Ace would say yes, but he'd still sit on the rug, staring in amazement at the heroes and desperately wishing he could be a hero too. Ace's dream was to work for justice and fight the villains. He never thought he'd be running from them, or have one inhabit his body. Ace slid his hands inside of the pockets of his purple sweatpants and tried to hide the fact that he was sweating. "Come on, let's go." Dani said leading him through the maze that was the Citadel. Ace groaned, he was dreading this even though he'd asked for it, "If my day gets any worse, I'm asking Hell if they have an exchange program."
Macha nodded and stepped closer to Ana, taking the girl’s hand gently in hers. “Come on.”, she said softly, leading her into the apartment and through the purple door. Macha sat Ana down on the bed and after rummaging around for a bit, pulled a box from under it. “I think you’ll find some clean clothes in here.”, she said quietly, speaking as if Ana was a small, hurt animal. Sitting down next to her, a respectful distance away, Macha put her hand out. “I’m going to go to my room now, I’ll be right next door. Call me if you need anything.” She got up to leave, but paused woth one hand on the door. “Don’t be too hard on yourself, okay?”
Ana flinched and nearly attempted to draw her hand away from Macha. Stop it. So ungrateful. Doesn't she see she's being rude? Instead of shying away Ana just remained tense, her hand barely gripping Macha's. Ana sat down on the bed obediently, still as stiff as a board. Ana nodded at Macha's request. Though honestly, she wasn't entirely sure what she meant. "Okay…"
Dani gave a small but sad laugh. "Don't worry. It will be painless I promise. You know, in a way, you remind me of my brother. He ah, he died a six years ago. He would have been your age right about now." She slid her hand along the wall of the hallway that they were currently in. "Did you know that the citadel winds through the whole city? Here we are." She opened the door in front of them and they walked in. A man, no older than twenty looked up. "Agent Shield! What brings you by at this hour?" Dani gave him a small smile. "Hey Eric. This is Ace. He has the Mark." Dani didn't need to say anymore. Eric gasped and replied, "Well we can't have that can we? Ace, I want you to lay here." Eric was pointing to a cat-scan like machine. Dani gave Ace a reassuring smile. "Completely painless. I'll be right here if you need anything."
Macha noted Ana’s tense demeanour with concern, and left the room with a worried sigh, closing the purple door behind her. She walked into the common room, and the sight made her grin in delight. The large room was round, with white walls decorated with colourful minimalist paintings. Two large rounded couches flanked the walls, with dyed pillows that flowed from purple, to a sort of true blue, to turquoise, to Yellow, to mauve, and then back to purple. In the centre of the room was a glass coffee table piled with snacks. Macha licked her lips hungrily, gathered a few in a plate, and walked back to Ana’s room, knocking on the door. “I brought snacks, can I come in?”, she asked.
"Cool, it's right down this way." Joshua spun around and started walking back, swinging his arms back and forth unconsciously. As they walked in silence, Josh kept on sneaking quick glances at Blake. Did he say barrack food? I wonder…
"Hey. That's a nifty gun you got there. You some kinda military personnel or something?" Striking his best "wide-eyed-doe-look" Joshua slyly pressed this stranger for information. If he says yes, than that either means he's R.A.C, or part of the National Guard. But we all know that the National Guard is just a front for more R.A.C anyway. Just play it cool, and see if he knows the secret code…
