@Lenered

"Cheeseburger?" Ace offered, of course no one had noticed that he was gone. Someone had directed him to the cafeteria and there he'd grabbed five cheeseburgers, for all of them.

@mistress-0f-n0ne

Ana never really had a cheese burger. She had been cooking her own food for as long as she could remember. Most of the stuff she made her parents forced her to learn. Ana would just awkwardly follow them not saying much.

The Unit 11 barracks in the R.A.C. are a wonderfully disgusting combination of drafty and musty. The cots in the hospital are far more comfortable than the rock hard mattress Blake sleeps on every night. He can't shift around at all either, the small bed is pressed up against the wall so he has to lie flat on his stomach or his wings won't fit. However awful the barracks might seem; they're the closest thing to a home Blake has ever had. He opened up a chest at the end of the bed and pulled out his R.A.C. regulation handgun. Every soldier has one. Blake strapped the holster to his waist and stuck the gun inside, unwilling to hold it. He never had much talent for shooting. Give Blake an axe and he's a great soldier, a gun was a bit more complicated… Although he was reluctant to fold the file, he didn't have much choice as he stuffed it next to his gun.

“Finally leaving, freak?” Ben sneered from where he was sitting on the edge of his cot. He was a full year younger than Blake, but that didn't stop him from joining the bandwagon of hate. In fact, Ben was the one who invented everyone’s favorite game of Blame Blake where everyone purposely got him in trouble with Commander Ryker. The commander caught on after awhile, but didn't seem to have any problem with making Blake the scapegoat of Unit 11.

“Commander Ryker’s sending me out on a track and kill.” Blake held his head up high. Track and kill missions are extremely rare for anyone below Unit 5. He had every right to be proud! Not just anyone gets to go on a track and kill!

“Oh yeah, I heard about that. Commander Ryker finally decided to kill you off. About time, really. No one wants your dirty blood in the R.A.C. You're practically a rat with wings.” Ben said with a nonchalant shrug, but his voice was laced with malice.

“When I get promoted to Unit 1 you'll be sorry!” Blake bristled, his wings puffing up with aggression. He clenched his fists angrily. Ben stood up with a challenging smirk. “I'd beat you in a fight any day, Ben. You know that.” Blake was seeing red. To Ben of course, the situation probably looked a bit different. Blake's face was beet red and his white fluffy wings were puffed up. He looked more like a baby bird than anything.

“I can't wait for you to fail. I hope you live and have to come back here. Commander Ryker will rip your wings off for real this time.” Ben laughed, before starting to walk out of the room, purposely pushing Blake out of the way. That's when Blake finally lost his cool. After Ben shoved him, he threw a left hook at Ben’s ribs. Ben let out a startled yelp and whipped around, eyes blazing. The two boys were immediately locked in hand to hand combat. The fight wasn't serious, a few solid hits were struck from both sides. Blake actually had the advantage until Ben ripped a clump of feathers off Blake’s wing. With a few swift kicks, Blake was on the floor, tears in his eyes. “You're a worthless freak, Thorfin. Never forget that.” Ben spit at him and stormed out of the room, leaving Blake to pick himself up off the concrete floor. He sniffled a few times and held back his tears. After making sure he still had his gun and file, he left the building. Blake shoved his hands in his pockets and stared up at the sky as dark clouds crowded the horizon. He let out an empty sigh and walked down the sidewalk, staring at his feet and glaring at the ever present shadow of his wings.

(Blake will be okay probably! You guys might not have to worry!)

Ana just grabbed the burger and began to nibble on it. She wasn't really hungry, but this was better than hospital food. Everything was admittedly better than hospital food.

@Natasha

Dani felt sick to her stomach. She didn't feel like eating, even though it had been a day since she had eaten. She cast a glance at Mia. "Thanks Mia."Mia looked back. "No problem." Then Dani motioned for the others to follow her. "Director Axyl is expecting us. And now that you are all patched up and are eating, we shouldn't keep him waiting."

@Natasha

(May I just say…………… does anyone sit around thinking "What pain shall my characters go through next?" All while laughing evily? I'm just curious. 'Cause it sure seems like it. And one more thing. BLAKE NEEDS REDEMPTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Deleted user

(@Natasha I hate to tell you this, but if Blake gets a redemption arc it probably won't be until after he meets you guys and I make him suffer through an identity crisis or two once he realizes the R.A.C. has been lying to him his entire life.)

(Lol I'm sure you guys will be supportive enough to talk him into redemption anyways. He's sorta gullible.)

@Mish

(Alright, I think I'm back! Took a nice hot shower, and I'm feeling better. Let's hope I stay that way.)

Josh couldn't imagine a day where he didn't start the day out with a nice bowl of Ramen. Sure, it's because he worked at his grandmother's Ramen shop, but whatever, Ramen is GOOD. End of story. Joshua slurped up the last of his broth before bringing the empty bowl into the kitchen. He bowed lightly and passed the empty bowl into the waiting hands of his grandmother, who planted a firm, yet loving kiss on his forehead.

“You have plans for today?” she inquired, turning back to the broths boiling on the stove.

“Yes, Grandmother.” Joshua replied, sitting on a nearby stool to lace his sneakers. As a high school graduate at only 16, Joshua was free to do what he pleased nowadays, before he had to start work in the afternoon. Most teens his age would stay in their houses playing video games, but not Joshua, he preferred to explore. He had memorized most of the streets in the city by heart, but it was the alleyways, and the little parks that he preferred to explore.

He stepped over to his grandmother, and planted a soft kiss on her cheek. “Alright, I'm going to get going now.”

“Good. Go.” Joshua's grandmother shooed him away with a flick of her hand, “If you are not working, you do not need to be in kitchen.”

Joshua giggled lightly before exiting the Ramen Shop, the little bells tinkling cheerfully behind him. Stepping out onto the road he began to walk. To where? He didn't know. Maybe Olive Park near Fifteenth Street? Or he could explore under the bridge at Clark. He shrugged lightly before walking on.

(@TiredOtter , your move. ^^) (EDIT: He graduated highschool at 16, but he's 17 now, almost 18. Just for clarification.)
