@Natasha

(I'm not old enough to be in medical school, but my grandmas on both sides of the family did, so I learned a little from them.)

@mistress-0f-n0ne

Ana waited for the elevator doors to slide open. Quickly she took a few steps forward, curious to see what 'the citadel' may be. Her hazel eyes widened, reflecting the citadel in them, and making it look like a place made of pure gold. "Woah…" she breathed.

(@Natasha I meant it would just take a while to try and make Ana confident in anyway. Btw if you want medical advice just ask me. Nearly everyone in my family is a doctor so I could ask them if need be)

@blue_topaz

The elevator zoomed downwards at lightning speed but Macha felt nothing but the steady beating of her heart. Thump-thump. Thump-thump. It was as if she was immersed underwater, her feet floating slightly off the ground, suspended in a grief-induced, dream-like trance. Thump-thump. Thump-thump. She had simply avoided memories of Lenn for too long. Her one hand rested, useless, on Rhea, but she was incapable of feeling the touch, the contact. Thump. Thump. With each strong pulse of her heart, the cracks in her skin throbbed, in eerie synchronization. Still, she felt nothing. The elevator slowed to a stop and her head turned, slowly, so that her golden eyes met Ace's. Thump. He tilted his head, and her heart seemed to accelerate, pulsing faster and faster through the murky depths of her trance. Thump-Thump. An electric shock went through her, arching straight out of those lucid eyes and through the thick haze that cloaked her, jump-starting her emotions. All the sound and color in the world came rushing back suddenly with a loud pop, jolting her abruptly out of her abysmal stage of consciousness. Macha kept right on staring into those sharp eyes, even as the elevator doors opened.

@Lenered

Macha was staring into his eyes and he was staring back. Ace could feel his heart thumping as he looked into the liquid gold that was her eyes.

( If you don't mind, I have to get something off my chest. Ana's story breaks me more than the others because I went through a stage of self-hatred too. Not as bad as Ana's, but still bad. It lasted about three years and it was really scary.)

@mistress-0f-n0ne

(@Natasha Oh man, well Ana is sorta a reflection of me in some ways as well, then again all my characters are. Though she gained her self hatred through different means which…admittedly could be triggering for some.

also @Lil-Owl just give her some good TLC. She's been missing that on her whole life)

@blue_topaz

(@NERD the tension!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Macha forced herself to look away as Dani announced "Welcome to the Citadel!" She couldn't stand looking at Ace, the confusion he brought her was too much to bear. If she could just focus on her fragmented memories of Lenn she could forget about Ace. He's just a minor distraction., she lied to herself. What would Fae say if she were— No. She cut her wandering thoughts off sharply and focused on the magnificent scene in front of her.

(Could Dani describe the Citadel?)

(@Lil-Owl in the story I'm writing most of my characters have wings. I'm not a total expert but I've actually been studying some wing anatomy. Disclaimer I'm in no way an expert and this is all hypothetical But as for Peter, I'd say the wounds that will affect his flying most will be the ones at the top of his wings where the most bone, muscle, and nerves would be.)

@Lenered

Ace took a sharp breath and exhaled. He could feel his heart start to resume its normal beat when he turned away from Macha. Ace could hear Zodiac in his ear, teasing him. He gritted his teeth, love didn't exist, and even if it did, it wouldn't present itself to him. Ace focused on the Citadel. He pretended to be wowed by it and he couldn't stop his eye from wandering over to where Macha was standing. Ace mentally slapped himself. He turned over to Peter and kept his back towards Macha.

@Natasha

(It's okay. Thanks, though. Music pretty much saved my life. I would suggest 'Overcomer' by Mandisa and 'Fear is a Liar' by Zach Williams, to name a few. I'm a lot stronger and more confident now. In a way, my challenges were a blessing. And I will describe the citadel.)

@KalamariCakes

Peter kept his wings at an exhausted droop, looking uncomfortably pallid and faint. He forced a bit of a smile back to Ace, supporting himself on unsteady knees.

@Lenered

Thank gosh! I was stalling. Sort of. Maybe. Kinda. Also, MACE! AND SKETER! I can't decide which one I like more. Actually, I'm a bit biased in that sense, but still.
