Macha clenched her fists until her rounded nails broke against the stone of her palms. "I think you missed a few." Her voice was as cold and unbreakable as ice. Fae. Jason. Lenn, she thought bitterly.

Dani sighed. "We know. And we're sorry. But in this last decade we've been stretched pretty thin. R.A.C. is expanding. Trying to control more places. I know that it won't make you feel any better but I lost a lot of loved ones too. But we have been trying to protect you, all of you." Dani took off her hoodie, revealing all of the scars that almost completely covered her arms. "I was tortured for two months, partially because I wouldn't reveal where you and other people with powers were."
"And partially because my uncle hates me more than anything in the world."
Macha froze, the ice of her anger melting into a shocked water that coated every inch of her skin. "I'm sorry.", she said simply, the synpathetic sadness reverberating in her voice, hoping that it was enough. "That was brave of you. Thank you.", she conveyed to Dani mentally. "So, what now? I'm not sure if the others are well enough to fight, but i certainly am."
Dani smiled. "Right now, I need to take a shower, and you guys need to get some rest. But I need to talk to you, Macha, so please don't wander off. I'll only be two minutes. "She smelled herself. "Eww, maybe five." She went to her room, grabbed her clothes and went into the bathroom. "Get some sleep, Peter and Ace." She called, the door muffling her voice. "Tomorrow will be hard."
(Maybe after Macha and Dani talk, Macha and Ace can go take that ride.)
(Oh and I forgot about Rhea. Maybe she could just be sleeping near Macha's door? idk just a suggestion)
(Rhea could be sleeping next to the bed. I was gonna have Macha ask Dani for a spare matress for her but i forgot)
(Okay.)
Macha nodded and made herself comfortable among the cushions, noticing, for the first time, the huge window at the front of the room, displaying a high-up view of the city. She frowned, thinking that they were underground and that there couldn't possibly be a window here, and went up to examine it. She found out that it was actually one big screen, probably showing what various cameras around Seattle were monitoring. When she touched the screen with two fingers and swiped up, Macha found that she could select from various different cameras, and began to explore the city virtually, checking on her gargoyles and various weapon stashes after sending a message to Agalmi to let him know that she was safe.
After a very failed attempt to rest Ana quietly crept out of the room she was in and sat down on the couch looking around. She noticed a book shelf and began to inspect their covers. Sure, she had books at home, but she wasn't allowed to read any of them unless it had something to do with scripture. The thought of being able to read, or do, whatever she want made her giddy. But…what did she even want to do? A defeated sigh came out of her. Even here, where she could live her own life, she still couldn't do anything.
Five minutes later Dani popped out of the shower, seeing that Macha was alone and looking at the various hidden cameras that were hidden throughout the city. "So, you like my surveillance system?" She asked happily, leaning on the bathroom's door frame.
(Gah I'm late again)
Macha spun around, startled. "Yeah. I'm just checking on the fights." She indicated to the screen, where mobs were massing and protesting, fighting police officers with shiny red badges. "So, what is it you wanted to tell me?", Macha pulled her long hair over her shoulder and tied it in a low side-ponytail that almost reached her knees.
Ana left the bookshelves sighing. That's when she spotted the instruments. Just a piano and guitar. Oh, she loved music more than anything. She wasn't allowed to listen to it but she always stayed in her school's music room. The teacher even taught her how to play the very instruments she was looking at and many more. Ana rushed over and grabbed the guitar strumming it testing to see how it was tuned.
"Sorry. I couldn't resist."Dani motioned for her to sit on the couch. "The warning notes that you got. I sent them to you. I've actually been watching you all for a while, maybe two weeks or so. And Ace, well Ace is complicated. I don't know too much about him. None of us do. I've been wanting to approach you for a while now, but it never seemed like the right time. So I settled for sending you warning notes." Dani struggled to find the right words to say, not wanting to upset Macha.
Dani looked over at Ana, who was playing Dani's guitar on the other side of the room. She smiled. From where Ana was standing, she couldn't hear the conversation, and clearly hadn't noticed that Macha and Dani were there. "I really want to help her. But she just hates herself so much! And she has these defensive walls. Tomorrow I think I'll try and find her someplace that she feels happy and useful around here. I think she would make a great doctor and Mia needs some help. What do you think?"
Peter hadn't stayed very long in the girls' room, and hadn't said much. So, it wasn't long before he returned to bed. Had all of this shappened just in this short time?
He settled down onto his bed, letting his wings spread and droop over the edge of the bed onto the floor. He lifted his hand to pet through his scalp, letting his thoughts lull him to sleep. Had he just known how much was happening outside his small, small world before… everything he was worrying about before now seemed like dust. People he met jus the other day giving their lives for him? That– that was so astonishingly unheard of in his universe.
Oh, Lord, let alone love! He had only one girl before that he fell very, helplessly, hard for, and that wasn't meant to be. No rich parents with dignity would let their daughter associate with a young man who didn't even know how babies were made.
A tight breath left Peter's lips. His little brothers would be tucking themselves in tonight. Perhaps stay awake believing the absence of their older brother meant incarceration or death.
His heart twisted.
What sort of a brother was he to leave them in that agonizing hell of confusion? Was he more focused on a goal he wasn't even clear of?
The accusations burned a hole in his psyche, tensing his chest with the threat of tears. Oh, God. So scared and just.. lost.
(I want to live in the TGR's headquarters!!!!! Wouldn't that be fun???)
Ace crept out of the room towards the room he and Peter would bunk in. He took a look around the room. It had two blue walls and two white walls and a huge window that displayed a beach scene that Ace suspected wasn't actually real. There were two beds pressed against the walls and a black and white rug on the white floor and a cabinet on the right of the beds along with a desk underneath the window. The door was to the left of the beds and that's when he saw it and nearly toppled over in excitement. A bookshelf. Ace loved books, he just didn't have much time to read them. He pulled a book out, called The Magic Citadel, which he thought was hilarious, considering he was in a magic citadel. Ace flipped open the book to the first page, expecting words, but instead, he got blobs. Ace pulled the book closer to his face and even then could barely make out the words. He threw the book towards the door where it landed with a flop. Ace muttered, "How can I be surprised? The only thing that could make this day worse than it already is, is me having bad eyesight and needing glasses. Oh wait, I have bad eyesight and need to get glasses." and then Peter came in and he sat on the bed, looking like he was going to cry. Ace didn't think he knew he was here. So he awkwardly sat at the foot of the bed and put an arm around Peter.
She hummed softly to herself once the guitar was tuned up. Plucking away. It wouldn't be any common song, or one that people may know. It was either some obscure song, which was unlikely for Ana to hear, or she made it up. The girl had some talent with the instrument. Or…maybe she was just average who knew… But at least music helped calm her down.
Peter turned his head of black hair in light confusion at the touch, but found that the, albeit meager comfort, helped a lot. His eyes flickered down, "Sorry," he exhaled, feeling the unnecessary need to apologize for this emotional, tired moment. "I promise I don't get upset this often," he half laughed, words cracking and his posture hunching.
(I'm back!! Time to get this party started. Josh is gonna meet the crew! ^^)
Josh nodded, putting away the last of his food into the plastic bag. "Cool. You know how to get back, though? I can't just leave you here without helping you get back."
Josh stood awkwardly for a moment, before his phone went off. A peppy pop song with female singers started to play. Joshua colored slightly as he shoved his hand into his front pocket for his phone.
Dani: Where are you? I could use some help.
“Oh gosh, uh…hey, I gotta go…I'm needed back at the shop. I'm sorry. Uh, hope you find your way back safely–and throw away your trash when you're done, okay? Bye!" Joshua dashed off, texting a reply as he rounded the corner and was out of sight.
Joshua: Be there in five. Got some news for you as well.
A few minutes past before Josh made it to The Citadel.
Joshua: I'm here. Where are you?
(*Just a side note, the beds are built into the walls, kind of like a cubby hole. But I like your description of the room @Nerd. And on that note, welcome back.)
He needs glasses.
