Skylar eyed the guards. “I don’t like this,” she whispered to Rvan.

Rvan glanced at her. She was still beautiful. She kissed him. So why did Rvan hesistate to confront his feelings for Skylar? Why did he still have a sick feeling at the pit of his stomach? Rvan shook his head, “It’s better than fighter pilots and guns firing at us.”

“We don’t know that for sure. For all we know Terris could be worse than fighter jets.” Skylar argued.

Rvan hummed in response. But he was focused on something else. The large city stood before them, a skyscraper towering at their height in the sky. With a landing pad. The dramans landed, then were greeted by a woman who stood with purpose, “Welcome to Terris, Lucians. The Officials look forward to meeting you,” Her eyes looked at Rvan’s hulking dark mass with greed. He shifted into his human form, scars and all.

“Greetings, Lucians!” Said the Masked woman who was seated upon a throne. There were two other masked women seated in two identical thrones on her left and her right a masked man and woman sat in thrones that matched her own. “We are highest and purest Officials in Terris. The mothers and fathers of the children of Terris. You may bow.”

There was a brief moment were the fire protégés looked to Draco and asked a silent question. Should we bow?

Draco responded by bowing to the Officials. “It’s a pleasure to be graced by presence.” Draco knew bowing was a pathetic gesture of submission. The dirtiest revolutionary could bow to the king he plotted to kill. A simple bow did not dictate his heart and his true loyalties. He hoped his protégés understood.

The Earthlings bowed as well, Nula noted. Everyone bowed. Except that foolish boy who stood, his head tipped back and a glimmer in his eyes. Whatever Natalia and Deviros did to him… Nula couldn’t decide what she felt about it just yet.

The first woman looked down upon Rvan, “Bow,” An order.
“I don’t quite comprehend why you’d force someone to bow when the purpose of the gesture is to display allegiance and respect.” His words were coated with glorious boredom.

The masked woman’s lips pressed into a a strait line and a muscle in her jaw tightened. “I will excuse this, only because I know Lucians are uneducated in the ways of the world and you do not know the power of the Officials.”

“You always choose the worst time for bravery, Soltan.” Skylar muttered beneath her breath with a smirk. Oh Deviros, I think that’s what I love most about him, she thought to herself.

Rvan was about to make another witty retort, but the queen went on, “So why are you Lucians here?”

Ramell spoke up. “We were being persecuted by the Council and came to seek refuge in the beautiful nation of Terris.”

“Oh,” The male Official drawled, “Refuge, you say? And what is your offer for it?”

Draco casually pulled a stack of a hundred dollars bills out of his pocket and sniffed the paper money. “I might just have an offer to catch your interest.”

The male Official started to laugh, then it turned into a cackle, “You- You think -HA!- You think that will suffice for your protection for long? Oh my, Cass, they really do think so -HA! HA!- Oh, oh, oh, I’m sorry,” The man struggled for a breath as he paused and recollected himself, “Dearies, that will last you until your Council outbids you. Maybe a few days, but,” The man snapped and a server scuttled in and took the money right out of Draco’s hand, “It will do for now.”
One of the other Officials snapped her fingers twice, “Take our guests to their temporary rooms. That sure gave me a good laugh, give them good views,” The lady chuckled and a few more servers scuttled out and ushered them to follow. The servers wore masks and long cloaks to cover themselves.

“Hey, we get a good view! Nice!” Rigel said as he folded his hands behind his head.

Nula snorted. “Oh we’ll be getting much more than good views. Draco is filthy rich. The Officials just haven’t realized that yet.”
