Jack grinned, “Carry you.”
Jack grinned, “Carry you.”
"S-Sure?"
Jack moved his hands down to her legs as he lifted them up, “Hold on tight then.”
Her grip around his neck tightened and she buried her face in his shoulder playfully.
Jack laughed as he carried her into the living room. Sitting down on the couch with Paige on his lap, unintentionally of course.
Paige looked up quickly, and their noses brushed during the action. They were so close…
Jack's face was red. He was pretty sure she could feel the heat radiating from his face.
Paige brought one of her hand to the back of his head and drew him close. "Thank you," she murmured, her lips brushing his when they moved.
Jack murmured back, "It was nothing," he fully placed his lips on hers. Nothing else needed to be said.
Paige's fingers quickly settled in his hair. She loved every moment of being with him. He made her forget who she was, and all of her problems were shattered into tiny pieces.
Jack would never admit how much he loved having her fingers in his hair, which was a lot. He wanted her to feel safe, forget about her woes. His hands traveled to her lower back.
Paige relaxed into him. She knew that she was safe with him. Safe from her anxiety, safe from her mother, safe from… herself.
Jack deepened the kiss the moment he felt her relax. She knew she was safe, and that's all that mattered.
Paige's breath was even, but her heart pounded. Was this even a feeling? This numb emotion? Was… Was this love?
Jack wasn’t sure if it was love, or an infatuation. He didn’t want it to be an infatuation. Not for him, but for Paige.
Paige was unaware of everything else. Even-
Downstairs, someone knocked on the door.
Paige quickly broke away from the kiss, startled. "Wha…"
Jack looked to the door, maybe? No, he looked to Paige, "Something wrong?"
She peeked out the nearest window that faced the front of the house. Her mother's car was parked along the curb.
"She's here," Paige explained quietly.
Jack nodded. He held Paige closer to him, "Your not going anywhere okay?"
"She'll break down the door if she has too. What am I going to do?" she whispered into his shoulder.
"You are going to my room," Jack let go and moved to get up, "Lock the door and don't open unless you hear three knocks. I'll go talk to your mom."
Paige nodded. "Good luck kiss?"
Jack smirked as he kissed her lips quickly, "Good luck kiss."
She smiled shyly and hurried up the stairs quietly before locking herself in Jack's bedroom.
Jack took a deep breath before moving to the door and opening it, "Hello?"
