john parks in front of Nyms house and sighs, not sure if Nym wanted to see him but he gets out anyway and walks up to her front door and knocks. John then rubs the side of his face trying to ignore the ache of missing Nym in his chest
Nym opens the door before he even got out of his car. Her eyes were faintly bloodshot from sleep deprivation and crying "I checked on your daughter. She's very nice, looks like you." Nym smiled halfheartedly "If you want to come in you can. I just cooked some lunch, light pasta and salad." She turned and walked back into the house sniffling, leaving the door open
John frowns and walks in then strides up to Nym and places a hand on her shoulder "Nym …you look like a wreck. What happened while I was gone? " john turns her around to face him and tilts his head in confusion "Nym….if I had known you would not take care of yourself I would have stayed"
Nym inhaled deeply and sighed "If I had known you would have gotten in trouble I wouldn't have let you go." She reached up and gently brushed a bruise on his cheek and she winced "It's the link, I'll explain when we both feel better." She turns back to the counter and fixes herself a bowl of pasta and another of salad "Want some?"
At around the same time, Jackie picks up her phone. She had just realized that she had John's number. That might of been useful when she spent all day looking for him the other day. She picks it up and texts him the short and simple, "Where have you been? And what happened to spending the day together? Not upset, just wanna talk. Meet me at the cafe in an hour."
John grimaced and then watched Nym as she made her lunch and he shook his head "No….I ate before I got here Nym." John smiles slightly as he watches her and sighs hoping she wasn't feeling his exact pain
Jackie stares at her phone, anxiously awaiting his reply. She flops down on her bed dejectedly and sighs. She's lost a lot of sleep over the things she's seen and wondering what he's up to. And to think she thought the feeling was mutual.
John pulls out his phone when he felt it vibrate and reads the text from Jackie and replies back "I tried to find you …. Nym and me needed to talk….And then I had some buisness to attend to. If you want you can drop by my house or call me. I will be busy for the next hour, I am so sorry I wasted your time Jackie"
can i still join..?
Jackie looks at her phone and sighs again. She should have seen this coming. "Are you free to talk tomorrow? Hope I'm not interrupting anything."
(I think that's fine but you'll have to check with @Andislee_Beau_Raven to make sure. As long as you have a good character and an idea of how to work yourself into the story (I recommend catching up if you haven't already) you should be fine.)
John looks up at Nym then back down at his phone "Yes I can talk tomorrow …and your not interrupting me. But if it is important and urgent I can tell nym that we can talk later and drive up to your place right now"
Jackie replies almost instantly. "No, it's alright. I'll meet you at the coffee shop tomorrow morning around my usual time."
John growls softly and replies back "Jackie , I ditched you for a whole day after I made plans with you. Let me make it up to you! I'm coming over now " John leans in and give nym a quick hug telling her that they can talk tomorrow and that she needs to get rest and feel better. He then leaves her house and gets in his car driving away to jackies place
Jackie stares at her screen in slight disbelief then jumps up from her bed in excitement. She shakes her head. "Don't get your hopes up you're only going to be let down." She nods and prepares herself for his arrival.
john drives quickly and parks fast and loud in front of Jackies house and jumps out. He then strides up to Jackies house and knocks on the door several times "Jackie!"
Jackie hears the knock and opens the door. "That was fast. Come on in."
John walks in then turns around and pulls jackie into a hug "Hey…I'm so sorry for leaving you like that. I am a jerk and I really feel bad…"
Jackie smiles sadly. "Really it's okay. I'm sure you had your reasons. I ended up being helpful to someone else in the meantime."
"Please, sit down."
john pulls away and stares at jackie for a long moment "No it is not jackie…and what is with that sad smile? " john reaches up and touches jackies face and sighs
Jackie suddenly pulls John's face to hers and kisses him. She pulls away after a second and looks at the ground, blushing a lot.
John is shocked and stares at jackie then clears his throat and without thinking John pulls jackie closer and tilts her head up so she is facing him. He then returns the kiss and after a long moment and pulls away , and rests his forehead against hers
Jackie feels him return the kiss and embraces the moment. As he rests his forehead against hers, tears start rolling down her cheeks, for the kiss was merely a goodbye.
John frowns when he sees jackie crying and curses silently and murmurs softly "Jackie?….what is wrong? "
