Joanna gave a half smile. "They're dumb. Not everything is going to kill you because it's different. I'm different and I haven't killed anyone." She shrugged taking a sip of coffee. "Yet…" She mumbled.
Joanna gave a half smile. "They're dumb. Not everything is going to kill you because it's different. I'm different and I haven't killed anyone." She shrugged taking a sip of coffee. "Yet…" She mumbled.
"Glad to hear…." Tempest seemed to have a different look in his eye when he looked at Jo, for she was the first human to know about his non-human qualities and not downright hate the guy, heck even Rose had been a hybrid like he was…but Jo…was full human as far as he knew and she definitely was breaking the stereotype his parents had fed him long ago.
She tossed her cup in the trash can and looked at Tempest. "Oh- and your piano is amazing. Where the heck did you learn like that?" She asked crossing her arms with a small smile.
"Well…Rose." He said, but wasn't sad when saying her name this time. He was proud. He was proud that he could help just a little of her live on. "She was a great teacher."
Jo nodded, not wanting to ask any more questions. She didn't want to push at something that could just be left alone. "She sounds lovely. Really." She hummed giving him a soft smile.
Tempest patted the spot next to him on the bench like seat he was sitting on "Ever played before?"
She shook her head. "Not really, I never had a piano growing up." She replied sliding onto the spot next to him.
"Well the first thing to learn is where to place your hands." He explained gently taking hers and placing them in the proper place along the keys "It's not that challenging once ya get into it. His body was starting to fully shift because of the emotional positivity he was getting off of teaching Joanna
She turned a slight shade of pink when he took her hands, but didn't say anything. She nodded listening to his every word with much focus. "Y-yeah ok…" She hummed a bit.
Tempest started to explain some simple scales to her, showing her. The other two in the room left them for some private lessons. Soon Tempest was in his full antro form, his tail wagged behind him as he had her attempt the simple scales, encouraging her whenever she hit a wrong key, just as Rose had done with him.
She smiled softly as she hit the keys softly. She'd probably have given up at this point if it was anyone but Tempest teaching her. She focused best he could and tried- but was getting a little frustrated because she couldn't get it right. She huffed but never quit.
"Jo take some deep breaths and pound the low keys as hard as you can, don't worry you won't break it."
She breathed in and let it out slowly. "Ok… deep breaths." She told herself breathing slowly.
"Now pound the low keys." He said grinning a bit
She did so and glanced up at him hopefully. She still breathed in and out slowly.
"Doesn't that feel better?" His canine like face at this point had broken out into a joyous toothy smile.
She nodded and grinned. "I don't know how you do it."
"How I do what?" Tempest's smile faded a bit as he looked down at her in his usual caring manner
"I'm so short tempered and I can fused out on almost anything I can't do right away. How are you able to keep me captivated without me getting overly frustrated and walking out?" She asked looking at him.
"I don't…to be honest I really like spending time with you…you haven't really…seemed short with me or…anything not likeable. You're sweet, understanding, open to all races…I mean I don't have anything I don't like about you Jo."
She flushed and looked away from him. 'Dang it… why is he so sweet?' She asked herself trying to calm down. "T-thank you… I really like hanging out with you too." She stumbled.
"Thank you Jo, and I must say you're doin' better than I did the first time at these scales." He nudged her arm a bit in an encouraging manner
She looked up at him with a small smile. "Yeah right- there's no way."
"no no I swear you are." He held up his paw like hands with a smile
