"You feeling OK? Anything I can do to help you sleep?" She offered.
"Nothing really you can do…just reminded how quite it is without her…how empty a bed feels without someone you spent three years of your life together, planning the rest of it to be the same way…"
She finally looked at him. "Were you two going to be married- or already were?" She asked softly.
He closed his eyes and he sighed "I had the ring…was gonna take her out to dinner to pop the question…then we got the news."
She looked away from him feeling it drop in her gut. "I-I'm so sorry…"
"I'm just…gonna take some melatonin…good night." Tempest started to head back inside, opening his door
Jo turned to look at him. "Temp-… night I… I guess…" she sighed.
He took some sleep aid and lay in bed but still had no sleep. While Tempest though Jo was a wonderful girl…he didn't want to weight her down…he wasn't a very happy person to be around anymore…she'll find someone who truly will love her.
Joanna sat in a solemn silence on her cold deck. She felt empty after he just got up and left, but she completely understood. Sometimes she just stressed people out with her curiosity and she took it too far. But she really only continued to talk if she liked you- or cared for you. So now she sat there wondering how to stop being so- her.
Tempest got out his phone and texted her his studio address 'Have an early day so I should head to bed. feel free to stop by and say hi though.' he sent the text and very slowly was reaching the point of not being able to physically stay awake any longer.
She felt the buzz in her pocket and saw the un-known number. She gave a small smile and didn't respond, only read the address and gave his contact a name. "Alright Jo-Jo, you gotta go try and sleep now."
'and I really mean that guy is stupid for dumping you. You're nice and cute what e-' this text wasn't sent as the phone slid from his slack grip as exhaustion got the better of him finally.
Joanna walked back inside chilled from the wind. She picked up a thin robe and pulled it on shutting off the lights and shutting the curtains. "You're fine Jo, no one is going to hurt you… you just… need to…go…to sleep…" She mumbled to herself as she lay down on her side, not bothering to pull the sheets on.

Joanna fluttered her eyes open realizing she had managed to fall asleep. Funny… that never happened. Maybe her emotional drain knocked her out. She sat up and pulled her messy hair out of the bun she had slept in scrunching it in her fingers. "Alright Jo- you've got another day ahead of you, and it's time for you to get ready." She mumbled sliding off the bed.
Tempest slowly woke up yawning as he looked at the alarm clock it was only-'OH GOD I'M LATE' went through his head as he flung the covers up and made a mad dash getting ready.
Joanna on the other hand was taking her sweet time. She didn't have a job until tonight. And even if she was late Peter, her boss, wouldn't care. Less money he had to pay her the better. She did her hair and makeup and went to go get dressed.
'OH JEEZ OH GOSH OH GOLLY' Tempest burst from his door, shutting the door behind him, completely forgetting to lock the door as he rushed down the stairs. Oh the only day he had been late his month, and that was funny enough considering he is the studio's boss.
Joanna heard the slamming and crashing of someone's front door. She jumped a bit and quickly pulled on a thin jacket and headed towards the front of the apartment. She opened her door poking her head out to see no one was there. She shrugged and went back in to grab her keys and shoes. She grabbed a small draw string bag that had her keys and wallet and tossed it over her shoulder after slipping her shoes on.
Tempest turns his key several times in his car's ignition before it coughs to life. He backed up rather quickly and sped off to the studio, hoping he would not be pulled over.
Joanna made her way out to her own car and started it. The engine purred and she backed out of her spot. She hummed along with the radio heading towards a coffee shop. She pulled into a space and decided to text Tempest. 'Hey you need coffee? I'm at the coffee shop.'
Once he pulled into the studio Tempest pulled out his phone and checked it, for he had felt a buzz. He responded back with 'sure thanks a ton'
She checked her phone and smiled. She unbuckled and headed inside to order the two coffees.
