(I need to keep my mind off these friggin things. paws at mouth. Want to start this up again?)
(Yeah sounds good, do you want to go?)
(Where were we…)
"Cool, I'm going to get changed then," He said walking into his room.
(But what's gonna happen…what were they planning)
(I have no idea, how are we going to do this?)
(Oh, they were going to take a walk)
Juliette emerged from her room wearing a simple outfit for outdoors. She carried a small handbag, which contained some special items in case of emergency. "Ready, Drew?" she called. "This was your idea."
"Nearly," He said, carefully taking the cake out of the oven. He put it on a baking tray and covered it with a mesh fly protector. "Let's go."
(They're by a river, right?)
(Yeah, I'm pretty sure.)
They walked along the river in silence for a little while. She admired the way the wind sent tiny ripples gliding across the surface of the water.
At that moment Drew felt perfectly calm, even though around him his world was falling apart. He had to work, live and trust a complete stranger, infiltrate the mafia, he was a murder, and he even did that wrong catapulting them into a situation he knew they had no chance of getting out of.
"So, what did you want to discuss?" she asked him, still gazing at the river.
"Well, I figured it would be easier to talk here as there's less of a chance that this place is bugged."
She huffed in amusement. "No kidding."
"Yeah, so here we can consider all options like just breaking down the front door, guns blazing."
"That is a terrible idea," she scoffed. "We'll be taken out before two seconds pass."
"Nah, I reckon that's the best idea we've got. It's either that or give them a cake at the moment."
She sighed. "We still don't know what K wants, but maybe we can ask him. And – hope he doesn't throw us out."
"He wants us to fix our mistake. But how the fuck are we supposed to do that?" He sighed, running a hand through his hair.
"Maybe…" She trailed off, swallowed, and continued, "I don't know how we can fix that, but maybe, we need to do it again…and show him that we won't make the same mistake twice. J-just a thought." She glanced at Drew, hoping he wouldn't lash out.
He sighed, "I don't know, I guess it makes sense but who are we going to- you know?"
(Also sorry that took so long, I had to do something)
(Ditto sorry, I hadn't realized you had returned X)
"Depends…maybe we can…ask for a target."
"Yeah, alright. Should we give them a cake as well to sweeten the deal," He said, proud of his little pun.
