"Much better," Dusty teased, walking over to the edge of the water and sitting down next to it.
"Much better," Dusty teased, walking over to the edge of the water and sitting down next to it.
Maddox sat down beside her, staring at his own reflection. Strange how similar I look to a unicorn even in human form… He thought to himself.
Dusty looked over at Maddox and smiled at him. "Whatcha thinkin' about?"
"Do you think I look like a unicorn when I'm human?" Maddox turned his silvery blue eyes towards Dusty.
(I'm so sorry. I had to leave unexpectedly.)
After carefully examining Maddox, Dusty replied slowly, "I suppose you kind of do. It's not a bad thing, though. In fact, it's quite cool. Like… No one else really looks that way, ya know?"
"True… it's probably because I'm so pale I look white, and my hair is such a light blond as well… I dunno." He stared at his reflection again.
"I think it's cute," Dusty said with a shrug. Then she blinked and froze. Why did I say that?
A pink tint rose to Maddox's cheeks. "You… you think so?"
Dusty looked down and felt her face heat up. She simply nodded in response, avoiding Maddox's eyes.
(Welp we're both awkward af)
Maddox cleared his throat nervously, looking at his suddenly red face in the water. It was strange to see so much color in his pallid cheeks.
(Lol. 90% of my characters are! ;P)
"'Scuse me for a bit," Dusty suddenly mumbled. She stood, shifted, and took off.
Maddox nodded and waited for her to walk off a bit before looking up, watching her go. Where's she going?
Dusty flew around for a few minutes, cooling down from her embarrassment. When she was finished, she landed near Maddox and the pool again.
"Sorry," she breathed.
"Are you alright? You've been gone awhile." Maddox was a unicorn again, dipping his shimmering hooves in the water and watching the ripples resonating from them curiously.
Dusty nodded. "I just… needed to get away for a moment." Realizing how that might sound, she blushed as her eyes widened, and she hurried to correct herself, "Not– not away from you. Like, not that you're the reason I needed to get away. I just was feeling awkward. Ugh. That's not because of you either…" she trailed off, noticing that she was rambling.
"Don't worry about it." Maddox cut in, smiling softly. "I know what it feels like to need some alone time; particularly if you've just been through a lot. Taking in a lot of information is also a bit exhausting. But anyways, don't worry. I don't take it personally."
"Well, I'm sorry for just flying off on you," Dusty apologized, frowning slightly at herself.
"That's alright." Maddox looked down at his reflection again, seeing a mirror of his human self even when he was a unicorn.
Dusty sighed and turned back. She moved to Maddox's side and looked at her reflection next to his. Her hazel eyes, short blonde hair, still-frowning lips. Seeing herself frown, she sighed again and smiled at her reflection. Whelp. She'd said it, and there was no taking it back now. Might as well deal with it.
Maddox glanced over at Dusty for a moment, but was careful not to let his gaze linger too long. Frost appeared on the surface of the water around his hooves, but he was able to control his powers enough to not freeze it completely.
(Maddox always has cold hands lmao)
(Dusty is always warm. XD Lol. They're perfect opposites.)
Dusty touched the ice forming around Maddox's hooves, and it melted almost immediately. She giggled slightly as she did it in a different place.
(Maddox is the one at night like "I'm coooooold where's all the flipping blankets")
He watched curiously and fully froze an area, looking over at Dusty to see how she would react.
With a genuine smile, Dusty looked up at Maddox before placing her full palm on the surface. The ice melted a bit slower than it had at first, but she managed to do it.
(Dusty: wrapped in all the blankets "Mine.")
Maddox smiled softly, freezing the area again to annoy her.
(Maddox: Y u do dis)
Dusty snorted as the spot refroze. She glanced back up at Maddox, a challenging light in her eyes, as she unfroze it again. Without looking, this time.
