"Yeah, it's just… where are we? Are you sure this is the forest I live in? I don't recognize this part of it."
"Yeah, it's just… where are we? Are you sure this is the forest I live in? I don't recognize this part of it."
"Darn it, you've got a concussion, don't you?" Dusty groaned, slapping her forehead. "You were the one that brought us here in the first place."
"No, I don't have a concussion!" Maddox thought for a moment. "Wait, do I? Did the doctor say I had one?"
"No, he didn't, but he may not have noticed," Dusty admitted.
Maddox shrugged. "Maybe he didn't think to check. Now, do you know how to get back?"
Dusty hummed, tapping her foot as she looked around for a moment. Turning back to Maddox, she asked, "Will you be okay if I change and look around?"
"Yeah, sure, I'll just sit riiiight here…" Maddox slid down a tree and sat beneath it.
"Don't you dare walk off or fall asleep, okay?" Dusty demanded before shifting forms and shotting over the trees.
"Okay. Why can't I sleep?" Maddox yawned, not realizing that Dusty had left for the moment.
Dusty looked around, but they were surrounded by trees on all sides. How had they gotten so far in already? She flew in the direction she thought they had come from for a bit, trilling in relief when she spotted her house. Once satisfied that she knew where they were, she headed back to Maddox, turning back when she reached him.
Maddox seemed to be dozing, but snapped awake when Dusty arrived. "Wasn't sleeping! I'm perfectly awake. Got one hell of a headache, though. Anyways, we should get going if you know where we are." He stood up, leaning one hand on the tree 'casually'.
"I told you not to fall asleep! You're not supposed to–Oh, wait. No, no that was changed…" Dusty trailed off, looking thoughtful.
"What? What are you talking about?" Maddox rubbed the bandages on the side of his head.
(I gtg.)
"…Sleeping with a concussion…"
(Oof)
"Yeah? What's wrong with it?"
(Sorry, I've got some pretty bad family issues that I have to deal with, so I don't know how much I'll be on.)
Dusty shrugged. "I just remembered that you actually can sleep with one, but I thought you weren't supposed to."
(Don't worry about it, take your time :) )
"Do you remember why you weren't allowed to before?"
"I… have no idea…" Dusty admitted.
"Alright, then. Do you know where we are or where we're going? Not to mention how to get there?"
"Right! Yeah, I do. It's…" Dusty trailed off, remembering which direction they had to go. "That way."
"Cool, let's go." Maddox wandered in the direction that Dusty had pointed at.
Dusty hurried to catch up to him, not wanting him to be on his own for long because of the concussion.
"How 'bout you wait for the person who knows where she's going?" she teased.
"Hmm?" Maddox looked over at Dusty. "Oh, yeah. Go ahead."
