Cooper started singing along after a bit. Aaron had never actually taught him the song, but simply sung it fairly often. Cooper had picked it up along the way, but he had never actually sung it in front of Aaron before.

Aaron smiles as he continues, chopping the fish in fairly neat squares. He smiles softly, watching his little one.
Cooper had a surprisingly good singing voice for someone so young. Of course, it wasn't perfect. It likely wouldn't ever be. His vowels were somewhat harsh, but it was otherwise good. He finished crushing the berries, still singing to himself.
Aaron walks past him to set up the fire, gently ruffling Coopers hair.
Jess smiles slightly, nodding, before walking to the door. "I guess I'm going to leave…thank you for being hospitable…I hope you at your kit have a good life together."
(I shipppp them…Aaron and Jess I mean)
"You're leaving?" Cooper cocked his head to the side. "Can't you stay?"
"You're welcome to stay." Aaron says, "We have simple rules, do your part, keep clean, treat others with respect, hurt Cooper or myself and you'd better run." he says simply.
Jess looks surprised for a split second then smiled. "Thank you…but…I will only stay if you would like me to. I'm not one to intrude…"
"It's fine." Aaron says, shrugging slightly.
"I want you to stay!" Cooper put down the bowl and hopped over to Jess, clinging to her leg. "Don't go!"
Jess smiled, looking at the kit, running a careful hand through his hair. "I'll stay little on…"
Aaron nods, "Alright." He hums, setting up the fire.
Jess smiles, picking the young kit up, smiling. "The only way I would have been able to leave was with you clinging to my leg
"Yep!" Cooper wrapped his arms around Jess's neck, purring.
Jess giggles, kissing the kits forehead. She knew deep in her heart she would protect him, harder than she tried with her sister's kit.
Aaron laughs softly, placing the fish over the fire.
"Aaron?" Cooper looked up. "Did you ever meet my parents?"
Aaron starts before looks around. "No, Cooper. I never did." he says softly.
Jess looks worried, but smiles, hugging Cooping one last time before putting her down. "What do you need me to do?"
"Gather pine wood, anything else. Possibly eggs if you find them." He says, looking up at her.
Jess nods, ruffling the kits hair before walking out, into the forest.
"Stupid self!" Gracie murmured .
Cooper sat back down on the stool, looking around the little den. It was his home, the only place he remembered ever living.
Jess jumps through the trees, gathering two eggs, and more than an armful of wood. She puts the eggs in a pouch, then walks back towards the den, not able to see.
Aaron ruffles Cooper's hair gently before picking him up, smiling softly.
