Cooper crouched down by the river bank, running his tiny paw through the water and watching the fish dart past.
Aaron hums, watching the fish. his eyes land particularly big one and he looks towards his kit, "Watch carefully." He waits, watching the fish before in a flash, he tackled the fish, sinking his teeth into the neck.
He watched, and after Aaron caught the fish he searched for one of his own. He saw one and tried to grab it, but ended up just falling into the river.
Aaron chuckles softly, watching his kit. He gently grabs him from the water, laughing a little. "Try again." he gently nuzzles the kit.
Cooper coughed up some water and shook out his fur. He spotted another fish and tentatively reached out a paw, trying to catch it. He was scared of falling in again.
Aaron smiles, padding next to him, "It's okay to fall." He says gently, "It's how we learn."
Cooper unsheathed his claws and managed to land a small fish. It wasn't much, but he seemed pretty proud of himself.
Aaron purrs, nudging Cooper gently, "Well done." he says happily.
"Is this enough? Or should we catch more?"
"We'll catch a few more, then head home." he answers, looking down at Cooper, pride obvious in his eyes and voice.
"Okay." Once they had caught a few more fish, they headed back to the camp. Cooper changed back into a human when they got back and lit the cooking fire.
Aaron hums, prepping the fish, before looking towards Cooper. "Good work, my little one." he says, ruffling the others hair. "I'm proud of you."
"Thanks. Are the others still here?" Cooper grabbed a prepped fish and put it onto the suspended pan they cooked on.
"No idea. Not that I care." he hums, filtering some water. He hums softly under his breath, a lullaby his mother taught him.
Aaron sung the lullaby often for Cooper, so he was familiar with it. He yawned, the song not helping with him already being exhausted.
Aaron notices the yawn and chuckles softly. "Tired, tesoro?" He asks, humming thoughtfully as he gently rubs the top of Coopers head.
"Yeah… today was… eventful, to say the least."
Aaron nods, running a gentle hand through his kits hair, smiling a bit. "We'll have dinner then go to bed, okay?" He says, smiling a little.
"Alright." Cooper took a fish and ate it absently, seemingly lost in thought, zoned out, or otherwise.
Aaron takes notice, eating his fish as well, "What's wrong, Cooper?" He asks gently.
"Mmm…?" He glanced up at Aaron, the focus coming back into his eyes. "Nothing, just… zoned out."
Aaron glances at him before nodding and returning to his fish, smiling a little bit.
Cooper started to nod off, having finished the fish.
Aaron chuckles softly and picks the kit up after putting the fire out, humming softly as he walks back into the hut, laying down while keeping Cooper close to him and placing a small fatherly kiss to the top of his head, "Sleep well, tesoro." he whispers.
