Surprised as he pulled her closer, her face turned red as he did
"What are you gonna even do in the water!? There's not much! Here let's just go on the shore! I heard there was a candy shop around here! We can go check that out!"
She says trying to hide the fact that she was just a tad flustered
He holds in a laugh, rumbling, “The lady doth protests too much, methinks. Besides,” a smirk curved onto his lips, “I quite like holding you in the water.”
Her face turning bursts of reds as he smirked, making it even worse when he talked.
"I-um…..Good!"
She says stepping a little closer, still looking as confident as ever, although failing miserably at trying to hide her flusteredness and her red face.
“Only good?” His relentless teasing prods further as he engulfs CC in his arms. Maverick leans closer, beckoning as if he were to whisper a secret. “Cute.” He taps her cheek lightly. “When you blush and stutter.”
"I-im not- nooooo."
She says burying her face in his chest. She was too flustered for this. And honestly, she just wanted to tell him how she felt about him right this instant. It was too tempting! But….she had that saved for the right moment.
He felt light, lighter than air, playful as a breeze to twirl away in the sunlight. Of course, those thoughts would never be voiced by Maverick Pave, but he felt light. Choosing to stay silent, he ran a hand through a strand of her infinite hair, resting his chin on her head.
Looking up at him, a mischevious grin on her face as she reaches up, kissing his cheek, then pulling her body away from his, still holding his hand.
"Let's do something!"
She says happily while moving hair out of his face with her free hand. She didn't think she had the guts to do that. She did last night, but she was tired. Right now though….she was fully awake. With only one thing on her mind.
Green eyes sparkling, Maverick didn't dare to breathe as he leans over and pecks her on the cheek. A genuine grin dances on his face. It's miraculous that his heart doesn't get up and flutter away, even as his chest compresses and closes in on it. "In or out of the water?"
Her face suddenly and obviously (and like always) beet red as he kisses her cheek.
"Well…. let's go out of the water! I'll get a tan!"
She says looking down at her pale self with a little laugh. She looked incredibly interesting with a tan, she hated it. She liked her soft light look. When she got a tan, which was never super dark, her light eyes and hair popped out like nobody else business.
“Your face is too busy blushing for me to see a tan,” Maverick laughs. A splash of water is flung her way, soaking CC’s hair. The sun steadily breaks through the clouds, as people slowly amass in the ocean.
"oh whatever!"
She says playfully splashing him back with a wave of water. Pulling her hair out of her face, it was annoying being this long and all.
"here lets get out of the water, its a tad chilly anyway"
SHe says laughing and tightening her grip on his hand, stepping towards the shore.
He nods his agreement, before mentioning, “My clothes are still on deck.” He gestured vaguely over his shoulder. “Unless we can skip the whole ordeal of clothing?” Maverick suggests, with his signature wink.
And just as her pulse began to calm down, he started the race up again. His stupid little comments along with his winks.
"I mean, we can"
She says winking back with a slight grin curving up her pink lips.
His eyes widened and he froze, definitely not expecting that response from CC. Maverick’s jaw worked open and close, gaping. He remember that confident girl… but… “What happened to being all flustered and innocent?” His voice was dangerously low.
"what! Whoever said i was innocent!!?? And pfft, flustered? Me!? I think youve got the wrong girl!"
She says putting her hand on her hip, holding her chin high.
She was trying really hard not to laugh. She never actually said risky comments like that.
But she had a feeling this trip was going to be full of surprises.
I'm screwed, I'm so screwed if she keeps this up. "Okay then, CC. I see. Maverick chuckles, knowing most of the confidence was an act. But she was beautiful when she was confident, and he was screwed.
"so? Whaddya gonna do? Cause i honestly dont feel like changing…. i welcome the tan lines!!!"
She says laughing a bit, then realizing she let a little bit of her silliness, then straightening her posture once again.
His Adam's apple bobs as he swallows, letting out a nervous laugh as well. He hauled himself out of the water, sitting on the deck. Shivering slightly, he said, "I thought you just said you hated being tan."
"well…..only slightly wont hurt!"
She says pulling herself up beside him, water dripping everywhere as she rung her out, the water dripping back into the ocean.
“You have so much hair…” he marvels, picking up a strand. “Well, you said you wanted to do something,” a smirk toys on his lips, “what would you like to do?”
"yeah, i need to cut it…maybe ill do that soon"
She says pulling her hair over her shoulder.
"oh…..i actually have no idea…as long as im with you"
SHe says, winking at him, surprisingly smoothly as her smirk was still plastered on her face.
He raises his eyebrows at the innuendo, slightly impressed. “Really? Are you going to tell me or show me?” Maverick asks smoothly, still playing with her hair.
"well…… your choice"
She says laying on her back on the dock, soaking the wood underneath her, still looking up at him.
He lies down, too, propping his head with a hand to look at CC. “Well… we went to the shop, I got you a necklace, you’re teaching me to swim, I’m taking you to dinner later tonight-,” he said this with a pointed glare, “-maybe we could explore more of the markets? Meet some other people here?”
"Oh? Okay."
She says surprised at how smooth he slid the dinner part in there.
"Well….that would be fun! I'm in the mood for sweets."
She says looking into his eyes, her fingers fiddling with the necklace.
