Maverick followed his nose to breakfast, draped his body over a chair, and face planted into the wooden table. Not even reacting, he grumbles out a curse at the time. Mornings, in general, actually, were not his forte. His drooping eyes glance up, searching for Ryuu.
Slipping on her swimming suit again, CC walked out to the water, just sitting in the shallow part of the water, letting the water rush over her, it was peacful…. calming, and it woke me up.
Ryuu walking out of the bathroom, right after he put his contacts in, ruffling his golden curly hair, his eyes a little watery, forgetting to even put on a shirt, just jeans, he runs into the wall,
"aw come on, i just woke up…. the world hates me…."
He says mumbling to himself, not even noticing Maverick.
An eyebrow jumps up, as he slides his vision to Ryuu. "Mornings not your thing, either?" A cautious but present smirk resides on Maverick's lips. He was careful not to bring up CC, concluding that such a conversation would only create more tension.
Turning to Maverick, he jumped back at the sound of his voice.
"oh, okay…. sorry you scared me. Um, I usually get up super late, but I didn't get much sleep last night…. so the answer to your question…. not today."
He says rubbing his forehead. He totally forgot that he had been roommates with him.
He was fine with it….
maybe.
"Mhm." Maverick nods, the awkwardness palpable in the air. "Anything particular you want for breakfast?" Food was usually a good way to approach friendship, he figured. Then again, he'd never really had friends.
"I-Don't really know. I'm not really hungry. You can fix whatever you want though"
He says sliding the door to his room open and walking in. He seemed a little cold, but that might just because of how tired he was.
"O-kay then," he says, green eyes darting between Ryuu's door and the kitchen. Sighing, Maverick pulls out two eggs from the refrigerator and slides a pan across the counter top. The crack of the eggs zings through the air, followed by a satisfying simmer.
Standing up, deciding against texting Maverick, CC decided to go for a little swim to wake her up more. Looking around, she decided to test something out. Swimming deeper, and once she was about seven feet deep, she touched the sand. A little rose grew out of the sand, then almost as it was picked off, the step snapped, making the pedals float up to the surface.
Interesting
She thought to herself as she swam up to the surface.
Beatriz looked around carefully before manipulating the water up into a small ball. She always felt paranoid when she did this, so she didn't do it often, but it helped her calm down. When she was finished, she went back inside to get a bandaid for the cut on her hand that reopened every time she used her ability. Having calmed down considerably, she went back to the table to pick at her food.
(Yesssss finally more magic!!!)
(It took me a while to think of when I wanted to start using it lmao)
(XD I'm that's fine! As long as there's magic other than CCs. I was wondering when someone would use it.)
(Heck Maverick's power was going to be water… hm)
He debated knocking on Ryuu's door, but came to the conclusion that the boy would exit when he felt comfortable. A soft hum fills the air as Maverick sets about making a traditional American breakfast - something his father would greatly disapprove of, cooking. The thought is fresh in his mind as he leaves a steaming plate of scrambled eggs on the table. Hooking a jacket over himself, Maverick leaves the cabin, simultaneously sending a text to CC. Good morning :)
(I’m interested to see what his power will be now!!)
Splashing up out of the water, she laughed to herself,
“Yes yes YES!!! It actually worked! Why didn’t it work anywhere else!!!”
She says visibly celebrating, her hair was soaked, along with her face dripping salt water that tasted exactly like her tears. She forgot about how long ago she used to cry every night. Her life was really miserable, but she’s glad it’s different now.
(It could be, Beatriz just has telekinesis, so she just moves everything lmao)
(Ohh)
The anticipation for his pocket to buzz nearly wiped out the retreating thought of his father's disappointment, but it was still haunting his mind. His footsteps eventually met sand and now Maverick found himself facing the sea, right at the tide's edge. The wind carried a hint of salt, ruffling through his hair and penetrating the jacket. It was still early, after all.
Looking around to see Maverick standing on the sand looking out at the ocean, she quickly swam under the docks, watching him. Hoping he would actually swim. She was so tempted to run up to him, smiling and telling him good morning, but some little part of her seemed to control her actions and make her wait and see what he was doing.
He carefully folded his jacket, then his clothes into a neat pile obscured by the docks. In swimming trunks, Maverick lightly approached the dock. No one was around. Apprehensively, he dips his toes in the cool water. A shiver traces its way up his spine, but he lets his feet remain dangling slowly into the water.
Getting a happy fuzzy feeling inside as she watched him dip his feet in the water. Also, her face turning a bit red as she watched him take his clothes off. Was he not scared of the water anymore?! It made her happy to think that one night could change it. Or maybe he never minded slipping his feet in the water. Just watching and seeing what he'll do next, hoping for him to go in the water.
It was odd, to feel so vulnerable when no one was around. Perhaps it could be due to the public setting, but Maverick couldn't help feeling at a disadvantage for not having a shield in place. He closed his eyes, envisioning and convincing himself of CC's hand in his. She believed he could swim. He would have to trust her. Instead, the text she never returned flashed before his eyes. Maybe she was lying about everything, to make him feel better? What if she actually liked Ryuu? He was much more of a man than Maverick was.
(Thats hilarious, Ryuus a Lil babycakes)
Watching him, her heart dropped a little as something poked her foot. Banging her head on the wood from where she was under,
"Ow!"
She says rather loudly, and sadly defiantly enough for Maverick to here from where he was.
Maverick startled, ungracefully falling off the dock and landing unprepared in the water. Water gurgled into his open mouth as he thrashed wildly, not realizing that the water was maybe four feet deep.
"Oh golly! Maverick I'm so sorry!"
She quickly swims up to Maverick as he thrashes wildly everywhere. Trying to grab him, honestly anything she could grab, and finally grabbing his arms, pulling his face out if the water.
"Are you okay?"
She asks as she moves some wet hair out of his face.
