"Who in the name of waffles are you?" Maverick gasps out. Swiping water from his eyes, he dares to creak them open, simultaneously registering the voice. He sighs, "Oh, thank gods it's you… what're you doing?"

"Well I was swimming, but then I saw you… I thought you were going to try to swim or….something. So I kind if just…..watched"
She said feeling embarrassed.
"Oh gee, I'm sorry I didn't mean to scare you! Are you okay?"
She asks him pushing her own hair out if her face.

He tucks a strand she missed behind her ear, hoping he wasn't crossing any boundaries. "I'm alright." A genuine smile curves up his face as Maverick shoots her a wink. His flirtiness practically radiates from his form, as he teases, "You just… watched? Did you enjoy the show?"

Her face immediately turning red, from his comment or the wink, she couldn't tell which. It both?
"I mean, i tried to look away when you- uh, when you…you know- took off your… Anyway! I probably sound like a creep! Oh, gee I'm sorry, i just thought you were gonna try to swim, i wanted to see if you actually would…."
She rambles on sinking into the water as she talks, hiding her red face in her small hands.

Clamping a hand over his mouth in a desperate attempt to resist laughing, Maverick shakes the water out of his hair and bites down on his lip. "Have I mentioned you're adorable when you blush?" The sheer honesty in his words blew him away for a second. He gingerly pries her hands from her face, lifting it up to meet his. Absently, he murmurs, "You're adorable either way, actually."

Looking up at him, she loved it when he bit his lip- but that's NOT the point here.
Her face turning a burst of just all shades of red, but she didn't hide her face, she just looked at him, and in total honesty, she had no IDEA what to do! What were you supposed to do when simeone looks you in the calling adorable?

A hand ghosts over her cheek, perhaps marveling at the effect he could have on her. Something - subconsciousness, doubt, or the water - nudges him to take a step closer.

Watching him step closer as he put a hand on her cheek, she doesn't dare move an inch. The fact that he was so close even got her more flustered. Getting pulled in my his gorgeous green eyes, she could stare in them all day. The water seemed to reflect off of them, making a little glimmer in them.
An urge… Something comes over her. A desire to step closer. All she could think about was getting closer and closer to him.

It's safe here, she won't hurt you. The mantra thrums with every heartbeat, every breath. Warmth expands from his core, seeping into the water, filling it with life, and yet- flashes. Flashes of yelling, expectations, disappointment, and tears. Snippets of words, worthless. A small tear trickles out of his eye. The words wouldn't have cut as harshly if he hadn't been vulnerable to pain.
Loving someone is like giving them a gun aimed at your heart and trusting them not to pull the trigger. The voice whispers. The voice is always there. Do you trust her? Maverick's green eyes tear away from CC's beautiful ones. He takes a step back. The water is cold.

Feeling like she did something wrong, she freaks out when she sees his tear trickle down his cheek.
"I'm so sorry, lets get you out if the water, I'm sorry, i just…i don't know"
She says frantically apologizing, grabbing his hand trying to lead him out of the water. No more water for Maverick. It physically hurt her to see men cry. Everyone's lived up to these expectations, and she hated it, she didn't want guys to feel like they can't cry, she just wanted to hold him and his him better. But right now, she had to get him out if the water.

Draven wanders down the sidewalk, his hands buried in his pockets.

“No.” He shakes his head, lighting anchoring onto CC. “No.” The word echos back into his mind. “Don’t be sorry.” Maverick’s green eyes soften, still shielding… something. But they’re brighter, now, and the voice has gone quiet.

"Well…..i already am. Let's get you out of the water."
She says pulling him a little bit. Her hair floating in the water around her. She was right….she really did need to cut it.

Maverick frowned, dare I say, he pouted. “You like the water, and I want to make you happy. Even if I’m scared. I’m here for you. We can stay.” Gently, tenderly, he pulled CC back into him. “I’m okay,” he said, honesty shining in his voice.
