"Ah! Okay!"
He says surprised at her firmness. He didn't expect that from her, but he guessed it was fine.
"Well, do you wanna go check out the shops with me?"
"Ah! Okay!"
He says surprised at her firmness. He didn't expect that from her, but he guessed it was fine.
"Well, do you wanna go check out the shops with me?"
Beatriz shrugs. "That's fine," she tells him quietly.
"Oh okay um, well i think they're over here last a few trees…..im guessing"
He says biting his lip trying to think of where it was.
Beatriz shrugs. "Well, lead the way, then."
Walking towards the trees, there was a little path just bigg enough for the two of them. It was really green to say the least. He wouldn't be surprised if something jumped out and ate them. Well….he would be a little surprised but not by a lot.
"So, do you like it here so far?"
He says hoping to break the silence.
Beatriz shrugs. "It's a lot like everywhere else I've been. The forest is nice, I suppose."
"Oh."
He simply says, not knowing what to say. He was always so bad at conversations…
"Well…did you like the ice cream?"
He says to her with a light smile, trying his best not to show how nervous he was.
"What kind of person doesn't like ice cream?" She asks with a laugh. "Obviously I liked it."
"Oh…sorry"
He says quickly looking away from her, regretting everything. Looking up at the sky, it was still a mix of pinks and oranges with a little bit of blue, he could barely see it through some of the trees, and every now and then they would walk under gaps in the trees so they could see the stars clearly.
Beatriz nudged him gently. "Why are you sorry about everything? Stars, you're almost as bad as I am. I was only teasing."
"Oh, I'm sorry- I mean…..okay?"
He says not knowing what to say other than sorry
"Do you apologize a lot?"
He says turning to her. He liked the fact that she used the word stars for something like that in a conversation.
"My friend Lure thinks I do. I guess I've gotten better, because she hasn't been telling me 'STOP SAYING THAT' all the time recently," Beatriz explains with a shrug.
"Really? My friend used to get really annoyed by that to"
He says looking at her, having to tilt his head a weird angle to see her.
"I can see how it can get annoying I guess….."
He says looking back at the path.
Beatriz shrugs. "It's not that she gets annoyed, per se, she's trying to help me with my self esteem? I guess?"
"You seem plenty confident to me….but I guess that makes sense"
He says with a little chuckle.
"So….whats been your favorite place here so far?"
He looks back down at her, putting his hands in his pockets after running them through his hair.
"Er… my room?" She said with a laugh, then shook her head. "The woods, obviously. They're really nice."
"Oh! I thought you were being serious! Though the houses are quite nice!"
He says with a little smile, forgetting the fact the sarcasm exists.
"I suppose. They're definitely not what I'm used to," she explains quietly.
"Oh….well I like them! So who's your roomy? Or did you get lucky and get one to yourself. I heard one person did"
He says smiling at her
"Oh, it's CC, actually," she tells him mildly. "It's been… interesting. I'm not sure she understands a lot about how normal people act, and that's coming from someone who spent half her life never leaving a one-mile property."
"Oh! Yeah….nobody ever talked to her before this other than me. She's just trying her hardest to be nice."
He says with a little smile. No…he was trying to get over her!
Beatriz nodded. "I understand the feeling," she sighed. "She'll adjust."
"Hopefully"
He says with a sigh. She was too nice for her own good. Although he knew she was just trying to gain her confidence back. And the fact that nobody knew her past, or her family helped a lot.
"Well…i guess I was right!"
He exclaims as they walk towards the markets, people lining up on all sides of them.
Beatriz giggles. "Were you doubting yourself? You could've gotten us lost, you dork!" She teases.
"I mean…..hey it would've been a fun adventure though!"
He says letting out a nervous laugh as he walked by her side, glancing at the markets one by one.
