Carter pressed his forehead against Arria’s, asking softly, “Do you think Farron’s really okay with me and you knowing each other?”
Carter pressed his forehead against Arria’s, asking softly, “Do you think Farron’s really okay with me and you knowing each other?”
Arria shrugged, tracing a muscle in Carter's shoulder, "I'm not sure. If he knows you make me happy then he'll be reluctant but won't stop us." He said quietly.
Carter started playing with Arria’s hair as he quietly asked, “Do you think, I dunno, that we can stay together? Won’t the rest of your people hate me?” He started to chewing a bit on his lower lip, just trying to refocus himself on the here and now.
"This is… new. I-it- humans and merpeople have never thought that this might happen. Mer-folk aren't fold of change. They can accept it, reluctantly but," Arria sighed, "I'm not sure… it might take some time, if we can show that not all humans are dangerous and harmful then more people will be accepting. For now, as long as only three people know, it should be fine."
“Alright. Alright,” Carter said, as if trying to reaffirm it. He cupped his hand around Arria’s cheek, leaning close to softly kiss him. He didn’t want to leave so soon, but… “It’s getting late,” Carter murmured against the merman’s lips.
"Aww, but I don't want you to go yet…" Arria whined, burring his head in the others neck, "Can't you stay for five more minutes?" He mumbled into the others skin, not wanting Carter to leave so soon.
“Maybe… But if I stay up late tonight people will question why I’m gone for basically all of tomorrow.” Carter smiled into Arria’s head, brushing his hands down the other’s back. I’ll be a temporary merman tomorrow…
Arria groaned, "Curse you and making good points…" He muttered and reluctantly, he with drew himself from the other but not before he kissed the other on the lips, "I suppose I should start making that potion then."
“I’ll meet you here again?” Carter asked softly, eyes drooping slightly from tiredness and exhaustion. He made a mental note to take a nap just before tomorrow night’s plan.
"Yeah, same time tomorrow. Go get some rest." Arria said gently, slightly pushing Carter away at this point.
(Sorry that took so long, internet keeps crashing)
Carter laughed, then made his way back to shore in a daze. He felt so alive, despite almost drowning today. The effects of love… Carter laughed to himself, thinking of Arria the entire way home and until he fell asleep. I love him so much…
(Don't worry about it)
Arria watched Carter go and once he reached the shore, swam back home himself, grabbing a few things on the way that he needed for the potion. He'd work on it tomorrow, right now all he could think of was Carter and sleep. And he did the latter as soon as he was back home safe.
Carter had woken up the next day, from his nap, and stretched. He smiled when he though of Arria, and quickly made his way to the beach. It was somewhat crowded today, but that’s because he was early. Just as he was walking into the water he heard a shout, “Carter! Where’s your surfboard? Come hang with us!” Breigha was waving from a group of his friends. I can’t let them follow me this time…
Carter walked over to them and started to lie, “Uh, hey guys, I’m not feeling to well today, I think I’m just gonna swim solo and-“
Breigha interrupted, “Sure loverboy. But before you go spend the night with Mr. Mystery, why don’t you tell us about him?” Carter turned a light shade of red, and they must’ve picked up on it because a quiet laugh went through the group.
Carter frowned, “Really, I’m just sick, so it’d be best if you just avoided me and-“
Breigha, again, interrupted, this time by standing and pushing him lightly towards the water, “We’ll leave you two alone, I promise.” Carter let out a breath, rolled his eyes at them, but still ended up swimming directly to the rock pool. He couldn’t contain his excitement as he waited in the water for Arria.
"Arria, are you sure this is safe?" Farron asked, crossing his arms as he hovered a little way away from where Arria was just finishing off the last of the potion. Arria, in turn, rolled his eyes.
"Yes, I'm sure. Trust me." He replied, giving his brother a grin before picking up a couple small bottles and dunking them in the redish purple looking liquid.
"Be careful, Arria." Farron gave his his brother a small smile.
"I will."
Putting the bottles into a small satchel he'd found a while ago, Arria left their home and swam out of the city and towards the rock pool and the surface. He broke the water and waved at CArter when he saw the human was already there.
Carter grinned immensely at the merman, waving back, “Arria! I’ve been dying for this all day.” He was sitting in the shallows, but soon made his way to greet the merman midway with an embrace, “I’m so excited.”
Arria laughed and embraced the other back before pulling away, "Me too," He pulled open the satchel and removed one of the bottles, "Drink this, it'll give you a tail for around three hours or so. I have more that should last you the whole night if need be." He explained, smiling.
Carter could suppress his grin. He planted a kiss on Arria’s lips, then pulled back as he opened the bottle. He drank the bottle, gagged slightly, but then waited. He felt this magnetic pull between his legs, and then he felt like they being wrapped with syrian wrap. His swim shorts tore off as his legs turned into a shimmering minty blue tail. Carter gasped as he beheld the beautiful scales, then he looked up to Arria with a squeal, “Oh my gosh I’m a merman! This is so cool!” He jumped over and hugged him, planting another kiss on Arria’s lips.
Arria giggled and kissed the other back, "Yup, you certainly are. Now you'll be able to keep up with me while we swim." He replied, swimming out into the deeper water, his tail splashing water onto the other, "Come on, the city looks gorgeous at this time of night."
Carter went after Arria, using mostly his hands as he was still getting used to the tail. A tail. I have a tail. Carter grinned as he dove deeper into the water, using his tail to propel himself as he said beneath the surface, “This is so cool!”
Arria laughed, "I know. I'm amazing. No need to thank me." He swam a little faster, flipping once as he swam towards the ever nearing glow of the cities lights, "Hurry up, Carter!" Arria called, laughing and grinning the entire time.
Carter laughed, speeding after Arria until he could sneak up from behind and steal a kiss as he passed by. He grabbed Arria’s hand as he approached the city lights, awe apparent on his face as they swam closer, “I can’t wait, gosh I can wait to see everything!”
Arria laughed, "Then hurry up!" He picked up the speed, still holding Carter's hand as he basically dragged him into the city, "Here we are, home sweet home." It was quite busy, even for this time on night and mer-folk wizzed past, some younger ones saying hello to Arria as they past.
Carter was probably grinning like a madman he was so happy, “Where do we go first?” Carter asked with excitement clear in his voice. There were so many lights and colors… and other merpeople.
Arria shrugged, "There isn't really much to see, we could always go see the castle, I haven't been there myself for ages." He looked over at Carter.
“We are so going to a castle!” Carter exclaimed excitedly, “Wait, does that mean you have merpeople royalty too?” He looked around wildly, as if any of the merpeople around them could be royal. And for a second he wondered if any of the other merpeople realized a stranger was amongst them.
