Carter stretched out his arms, smiling brightly at how warm the air was today. His arm was doing much better since he’d been patched up so carefully by Arria and after a few nights of mostly solid sleep -he still had some nightmares plaguing him- he was feeling much more lively and maybe even a bit optimistic for the weeks to come. The dangers had passed of course, right? They were safe now, and Carter could finally be at peace knowing that both himself Arria were safe.
Arria on the other hand, couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. Not off with Carter and him, but off in the sense that he felt like something was going to happen. Even though it had been a few days, his gut was telling him that something was wrong had he'd learned to trust that instinct over the recent years. He paced or swam in the water, trying not to frown too hard, "Carter?" He glanced towards the human.
Carter turned around in the water with a small smile to face the merman. “Hmmm?” He hummed, smiling a little bit more. It had just been so long, merely seeing Arria’s face made him feel better. He wasn’t trapped with Maria anymore, they were both safe. It was all Carter wanted or needed.
“You didn’t tell anyone about this place, right?” Arria had to check. Had to make sure they were truely safe before he could relax. He trusted Carter, yes, but he didn’t have a clue what happened with him and had no idea if him and Jackson and come back here. The thought of Jackson in him and Carter’s safe space made him sick.

I’m trying to move a lot of my rps to pm so they’re all in one spot, plus it’s easier if we ever wanted to do smut or something. “No,” Carter instantly responded, “I might’ve mentioned that we had a home together, but I never told anyone where this place was or what it looked like,” The human explained softly, swirling his hand around in the water just to feel how it flowed and moved. He had hardly spent any time in the water when he was with Jackson, and now he realized how much he missed it.
