I was thinking just a classic high school, soulmate thing but I don't really mind. Ideas are appreciated if you have them but yeah. I need a cute romance please.

Arria’s interest with humans might be an understatement. It was more of an obsession then anything although his didn’t see it like that. Once again, he was at the surface, perched on a rock, hopefully hidden away from view from any humans that might see him. The rock pool was his favourite place to watch them because they couldn’t see him. That was his brothers one rule when coming up here: don’t be seen.
Carter paddled slowly on his surfboard, alone. The waves weren’t great for surfing today, which is why his friends passed on going to the beach, but Carter had nothing else to do. He smiled, closed his eyes as the sun seemed to brighten. “Gosh, I love it here,” He said to himself with a laugh, dipping his feet into the water and laying back on his surfboard.
Arria climbed off the rock he was on when he spotted a human on some… thing just floating on the water. He smiled to himself and swam closer, trying not to be seen although he would like to talk to a human.
Carter dropped himself gracefully in the water, keeping a sturdy arm on his board so it wouldn’t float away. He dunked his head in the salty water, grinning at nothing in particular. He licked off the water from his lips, that traditional ocean taste making him laugh to himself, “This is the life.”
Arria smiled and swam closer, most of his head under the water apart from his eyes. He wanted to talk to him, but didn’t quite have the nerve to do so. His blue and purple tail swished under him in excitement.
Carter let go us his surfboard for a second, after all, it’s not like it would be blown away on calm waters. He dove down, letting his feet be his eyes, searching for the bottom. It didn’t take long, but as soon as he touched the sandy bottom, sharp pain shot through his leg. Sting ray. He lost his air in surprise, sucking in a big gulp of salt water. He choked again, rapidly swimming upwards. Of course, with his luck, he whammed his head on his surfboard, sucking in another breath of air.
Arria noticed what happened and forgot that rule his brother told and hurriedly swam over to the human, “Are you okay?” He asked.
Carter tossed himself over his board, coughing furiously and trying to get air in at the same time. He couldn’t even look to see who had spoken. His leg tensed in pain again, making him wince.
“String ray…” Arria knew that wound all too well. Without saying anything, he dove under the waves, looking for some kelp. Once found, he swam back up to the human, “Hold still…” He blinked a few times when he took in his legs. Real legs. Once over his little moment of admiration, he wrapped the wound.
Carter almost -almost- kicked the person helping him out of defense and instinct, but held still as he cough up the last of the salty water. He turned, looking back at his helper with bleary eyes, still not quite processing everything, “Who are you?”
Arria blinked when he heard the guy talk and he realised what he’d done, “No one.” He replied, swimming to the other side of him so he wasn’t being kicked by his legs, “I’m no one, forget you saw me.”
