Carter looked at Arria, “If Arria wants to be.” He didn’t want to force the relationship status onto Arria, despite how they kissed before, he didn’t want to force this on him. But he held Arria close, and he was sure that said enough. But he made sure Arria could push away if he wanted to, that if he was uncomfortable with their relationship around other merpeople, Carter would accept that.
Arria looked up and gave Carter a smile, "Yeah… we are."
Yuri sighed, looking thoroughly disappointed in Arria's answer but didn't push any further.
"Well, I guess I'll leave you two be," Yuri turned around but before he swam off he called over his shoulder, "Oh and Arria, if you ever get bored of him you know where I am." And he left.
"I have no clue why I'm still friends with him." Arria muttered turning bright red again.
Carter stared at the direction which Yuri left, a growing dislike towards that merman. His grip subconsciously tightened around Arria as he raised his eyebrows, “‘Get bored of him’? Who does that guy think he is?” Carter demanded, trying his best to keep a his distaste inside.
"The prince of this place…" Arria said, biting his lip, "I'm surprised he was so nice to you. He's never liked me hanging around other mer-folk that might 'take me away from him' I was never 'his' and never will be."
Carter blinked. Once. Twice. The burst out laughing, “Wait, that was the prince? Was I just rude to the prince? Oh my gosh, that’s hilarious,” Carter’s laughter died out and he paused, “Take you away from him? He’s a prince, and you don’t like him?” Carter loved being chosen over a prince, definitely. But most people -at least on land- would kill to have a chance to be in love with royalty.
"I did… once when we first met I did but I broke it off when he started…" Aria shook his head, "It doesn't matter. It was a toxic relationship and I'm not going into that again. Not when I have you." Arria placed a kiss to the others cheek.
Carter smiled, hiding his remaining worry. He didn’t want Yuri around Arria if it had been toxic for him… Carter copied the kiss, pecking Arria on the cheek as well when they started walking into the palace, “If he ever bugs you… I’m always here, alright.” Carter promised as he looked Arria in the eyes.
Arria nodded and followed him, "I know you are, thank-you." He said before interlacing his fingers with Carters as the guide led them round the first floor of the castle, explaining some of their history and what some of the artifacts meant.
Carter leaned his head on Arria’s shoulder, but his eyes and ears were in tune with the tour guide. It was so interesting, how they had a palace and all the history of it. Carter had never thought he’d get the chance to tour a real palace, where royal were currently living. A question popped in his head, and he whispered to Arria, “Where do you live?”
Arria snapped his head to Carter, "What? You… you want to know where I live? I mean I can show you but we can't just leave in the middle of a tour." He whispered back, his eyes widening a little.
“Well, we don’t have to leave now, but I still want to know sooner or later,” Carter whispered, smiling a little. He hadn’t realized how cute Arria was underwater until now, when his hair swished around with the current.
"I'll show you after the tour's finished, it nearly is anyway." Arria smiled back and turned his head back to the tour guide. Around twenty minuets later, the tour finished and Arria sighed, "So, what'd ya think of the palace, apart from the stupid prince that is."
“It was beautiful!” Carter exclaimed, grinning from ear to ear, “I’m so happy you took me,” He pecked Arria on the cheek, still grinning. He probably looked like a fool for grinning so much. “I really enjoyed it, Arria.” Carter intertwined his hand with the merman’s hand lovingly, doodling little circles on it with his thumb. He didn’t even know how happy he could be with Arria until today.
"I'm glad. Now, you said you wanted to see where I live so let's go do that then." Arria said, returning Carter's grin with a smile of his own. He started swimming towards his house, which was located a little way out of the city with a bunch of others. Arria thought it was better then the city itself but everyone had a preference.
Carter followed Arria, still smiling like a dork, until they approached the outskirts of the city.
(Sorry that’s so short, gtg)
(alright, seeya ^^)
Eventually they reached Arria house and he opened the door. Farron wasn't home, probably doing the shopping or hanging out with his friends but Arria didn't practically care, "And here it is, home sweet home." He said, placing his bag on a small table. In the middle was a large room what resembled a sitting room, joining with what looked like a kitchen. There was also three other rooms that were off to the side which were bedrooms.
“Ooooo!” Carter swam in, looking at the sitting room, then floated over the kitchen. He tilted his head slightly to the side as he asked, “How do you cook things underwater?”
Arria shrugged, "Merman magic I guess. It's just… normal here so I've never thought to much about it." He said, sitting down in one of the clam chairs.
Carter swam back to Arria, the huge grin still on his face as he sat down, “This is so cool! I can’t believe I’m in a merman’s house right now.” He looked over the wall and all the little details. It was all so neat.
Arria laughed and rolled his eyes a little, "You keep saying you can't believe it but it's real, merman's honor this is completely real." He said, placing a hand on his heart as he looked at Carter, smiling.
“Merpeople are fantasy to humans, like unicorns and faeries. This… People would kill to see this stuff,” Carter smiled, still looking in awe at the house, “I just… wow. Heck, I even have a tail right now.”
Arria giggled, "Yes, you do. I still can't believe the potion worked. I haven't done anything like that for a few years so there was a small chance it wouldn't work. And thank Triton's beard it did." He relaxed back onto the chair.
Triton’s beard… Carter could just barely hold in his giggle, biting his tongue just a little bit. Instead, he asked, “What do you do for fun around here?” Carter rest his chin on his knuckles, a twinkle caught in his eyes as he looked at Arria.
Arria shrugged, "Me and my friends go crystal hunting, mind you we shouldn't but it's fun. You also find a lot of human things done there which I collect so it's a win win situation for me."
“Crystal hunting? Arria, you shouldn’t have said a word about it because now I want to go,” Carter whined, swimming up from his chair and floating next to Arria, laughing a little bit as he said, “And I want to see what ‘human things’ you collect.”
