Bruce thought for a moment. "Hm. Well, what's your love life like, then?" he asked, a faint smirk tugging at the doctor's features.
Bruce thought for a moment. "Hm. Well, what's your love life like, then?" he asked, a faint smirk tugging at the doctor's features.
Sam's smile turned playful, straightening his back and shaking his head, "It is fine, thank you." Natasha and Steve laughed at his reply, looking at each other like they knew what they were thinking and earning a tired look from Sam. Steve turned to Bruce, mouthing 'it's not fine,' and chuckling again.
Bruce laughed. "Sam, are you lying to me?" he asked, raising his eyebrows and looking at Sam over his glasses. "Because if you are, shame on you. That's not the spirit of the game, you know."
"I am n–" Sam scoffed, clutching his heart like he was offended, "I'm not lying…" He shook his head, catching Steve's chuckling, "Steve's lying– he doesn't know what he's talking about. My dating life is not at peril."
Bruce squinted at him. "Hmph. If you say so." he removed his glasses, polishing them carefully. "I suppose. Your turn to ask someone, then, Sam."
"Alright." Sam sighed, rubbing his hands together, "TONY." He grinned, pointing to him dramatically, "Truth. Or. Dare?"
Tony smiled, taking a sip of his drink. "Hmm…dare." he replied, looking at Sam and grinning as he waited to hear his dare.
Bucky was silent, watching everyone and observing the game.
"I dare you to sing happy birthday to Thor –Marilyn Monroe style." He laughed, earning a high five from Nat.
Tony laughed, and did the dare. He looked at Thor, his singing wildly off-key and out of tune. Tony, for all his intelligence and swagger, did not have a good singing voice.
Thor laughed, smiling a little.
"Do they sing happy birthday on Asgard?" Steve asked, remembering Thor was probably a couple of thousand years old.
"Parties must have been wild." Sam chuckled, waving his hands for dramatic flare.
Thor smiled. "We do have birthday parties sometimes." He replied. "And wild is quite an apt way to put it, I suppose."
Tony cleared his throat. "There. My turn."
"Wild." Steve smiled, testing out the word and taking another sip.
"Your turn, mhm," Sam repeated, finishing his drink and pouring another, earning a look from Natasha.
Tony took another drink. "Steve! Truth or Dare?" Dare. Dare. Dare. Dare. He very much hoped that Steve would pick dare. Because his plan was both malicious and hilarious. He texted Sam. "Get ur camera ready if he picks dare".
Sam glanced at his phone when it chimed, casually holding it ready when he saw the message. Steve shrugged, downed the last of his drink and sighed, He's probably going to ask some super personal question so.. "Dare."
Tony smirked, rubbing his hands together in a devilish manner. "I dare you…to kiss Bucky. On the mouth, no dodging this with a kiss to the cheek." He said, smirking.
Buck blinked, his only outward expression of surprise that single flash in his eyes. Inside, he was almost panicking.
I drank that stuff way too fast, I heard him say… "You want me to what?" Steve calmly managed over his erratic heart rate and reddening cheeks, glancing at the brunette beside him, "Kiss Bucky? W– What?" He questioned, though he heard him right, he just didn't believe it.
Tony smirked again. "Yes, I do." He replied, watching Steve.
Bucky looked over at Steve, then at Tony. He frowned a little bit, not sure what to expect. Some part of him…was excited. Wanted to be kissed. Another…was scared.
"Only if it's okay with him," Steve sighed and shook his head, not looking up from where he was refilling his glass. He left his glass on the coffee table and turned to Bucky, "Whaddya' say? Just for kicks?" He smiled shyly, though internally he was screaming. Natasha froze in suspense, her hand holding her drink in midair. Sam gripped his phone, eyeing Steve like a cowboy at a standoff waiting for the other to draw.
Bucky bit his lower lip a little bit, shifting in his seat. His eyes flicked around the group, before settling on Steve again. "I…guess." he replied slowly.
Tony was still smirking as he watched them.
Steve nodded, trying to smile like it was 'just for kicks,' but his feelings told him otherwise, and he let himself lean into Bucky's mouth. Sam readied his phone on the camera app drawing it in what felt to be slow motion, the whole room silent and watching with anticipation. Steve's breath hitched when his lips met Bucky's, his chest feeling like it was the beginning of an asthma attack for a second, that sinking, shrinking feeling in his chest, but then he inhaled and it expanded, spreading out and turning warm and then hot, taking his breath in mere shock of the fact that this was happening.
Bucky's eyes flickered shut as Steve's mouth met his, and he took a deep breath, feeling himself freeze up with that apprehension of the unknown. He was kissing Steve. In front of the rest of the Avengers. And he didn't know what to think or feel about that. He didn't know if this meant anything to Steve or not, if it should mean anything, but he knew that some part of himself was loving every bit of the contact of Steve's lips against his own.
Steve fought himself to let him stay there, wishing he could kiss him longer, again. Sam was taking photos like his phone was a rapid-firing machine gun. Steve let out a breathy laugh when he pulled back, looking at the rest of the group's amused faces, "Enjoy the show?" He asked a little harsher than he meant, going for his drink on the table.
Bucky opened his eyes again when Steve pulled away, letting out a slow breath. He didn't otherwise have much of a response, eyes flashing around the group. He bit his lip a little bit at Steve's tone. He didn't want it. Not with me. It won't happen again.
Sam shook his head happily at the photos, noticing Steve's lazy smile against Bucky before he had to pull away.
"Aw, don't pout." Natasha chuckled, lightly applauding, "Bucky, Steve, don't be mad. It was a good show–"
"…Didn't get my money's worth…" Sam joked quietly.
"–I'm not mad." Steve shook his head, though he was frowning.
Bucky wrinkled his nose a little bit, but didn't say anything. He linked his fingers together, resting his elbows on his knees. His hair fell into his face a little bit.
Tony smirked. "Well, I would have enjoyed a little more tongue action, but maybe next time." he said mischievously.
