Lysander smiled a little more and tried to relax again as Henry walked over to them.

Tyler turned to look at Henry

Betty sat on the counter waiting on the pasta to cook

”Hey, babe.” Henry smiled at her.

Evan looked over at Betty and smiled. ”What do you think if I made a homemade marinara sauce to go with dinner?” he asked.

Betty smiled and nodded

”You trying a new look?” Henry asked, gesturing to her hair.

Evan smiled back, placing a soft kiss against her cheek before gathering the ingredients.

Tyler chuckled rolling her eyes

Evan quickly gathered everything and started cooking at a steady practiced speed.

Betty's phone rang and she quickly answered it "hello? Asthma how does he have asthma he's a vampire werewolf mix and XP what the hell?"

Evan looked up at Betty in concern as he overheard her conversation.

"so you're telling me that all of my youngest children are diseased?"

Betty hung up the phone and covered her mouth with her hands sliding down the counter onto the floor

Evan knelt down beside her and gently wrapped his arms around her.

”I’m so sorry, darling.” Evan said, still holding her. ”But… What exactly is ’XP’?” he asked since he was unfamiliar with the term.

Evan nodded in understanding and held her closer. ”I’m so sorry.” he sighed.

”I know.” he nodded. ”And I almost feel like it's my fault that they have XP.”

”I don't have it but while I haven't heard that particular name for the condition, it's not uncommon in Dhampirs and it's often inherited from the father.” he said softly.

She sighed closing her eyes
