He sighed softly and nodded a little. “I’m assuming that was Charles who called you?”

She nodded sniffing a bit

“It’s alright, Betty.” he soothed. ”You can cry if you need to but it will be alright. We just have to be careful.”

" I don't want them to hear me" she muttered

Evan nodded and rubbed her back gently. ”You’re a mother who just received bad news, you’re allowed to cry. It's not a weakness.” he told her softly.
