He carefully approached, sat beside her and hesitantly placed his fingers on her shoulder blade.

She looked up at him with red eyes

He sighed and cautiously placed his hand against her back. ”Betty, I’m truly sorry. I never meant to spend more than two hours, at most, away from you.” he said sadly. ”I have no excuse for hurting you like this.”

He nodded, remembering that conversation. "I know and I'm very sorry. I honestly didn't mean to do that to you."

He blinked as the idea hadn't occurred to him before nodding. ”Yeah.” he agreed softly. ”I should have. I’m sorry, love.” he said, the epithet slipping out easily.

”I won't.” he promised, gently moving to hold her. ”I don't want you to have those nightmares again.”

She curled into his side ' there getting worse' she said

He winced at the news and gently began to rub her back soothingly. ”I’m sorry, angel.”

" What if Alec comes back and tries something' she asked

Lysander's eyes flashed red and his hands warmed briefly at his name. ”If he does, I’ll make him pay for everything he’s done to you.” he promised with a small growl.

”I’ll practice a little closer to the house and only once a week… for the bigger stuff.” he compromised. ”I can practice the little stuff by the lake.”

He nodded and held her close. ”Does he know about this place?”

" i don't know" she said

”Alright.” he nodded. ”Well, even if he does find it, this is your place. You own it, so he can't come in unless you invite him.” he reminded her.
