"Its 'The Magical Guide to Blending In Among Non-Magical Entities.'"
"Oh." Andreas' excitement lessens as he learns it is a how-to book. "What exactly would you need that for though? I personally never have had to hide my magic for any reason."
"Its for if you life part-time in the mortal world. We don't want them knowing how much better we are then them, now do we?" Maria said.
"Its for if you life part-time in the mortal world. We don't want them knowing how much better we are then them, now do we?" Maria said.
Andreas stares at her. "…I live in the mortal world, and I've never had to conceal my magic. Well, not especially. I don't exactly do it all day, but I don't have to really go through any extra measures to hide."
"Well, which mortal world do you live in? Do you live in the one past the fourth wall? Cause that's where you would need to conceal your magic.," Maria said questioningly, like she couldn't understand not needing to blend in with the mortals.
"It's required for collage …" Aibhe said, smiling. "It's an awful book."
(the reader is going insane seeing all of this🧍)
"My name is Mayil and I'm 23 years old. I have no clue where we are, or who any of you are, or even why we're here, but I'm sure will figure that out eventually."
Twenty-three years old. That was how old Mayil would have been if they hadn't died when they were seventeen. Which meant this couldn't be them. She would have seen their ghost at least one time in the last couple of years. She shook her head, and opened her eyes, averting her gaze from Mayil…or this look-alike, or whatever they were. Perhaps Mayil had a twin that wanted revenge on Ximena? If so, she wouldn't be surprised. But at the same time, what if they hadn't died as she thought so? She never checked if Mayil had been truly dead. All she saw was her breath stilling, and she took that as her cue to leave. But what if someone had gotten to Mayil before they died? The amount of magic and time that would be required to properly heal them was long, but it was possible.
She stayed quiet as she glanced at the others, content in allowing the others to talk amongst themselves. She wouldn't speak unless a question was directed toward her, or if it was absolutely necessary. If this was truly Mayil, then perhaps somewhere around the healing process, they might have lost their memories. And despite what others might think, this was good. This meant they didn't know her. They didn't know what Ximena had done to them. She didn't think she would be able to bear being around them if Mayil had memories of…..the event.
"Oh it really is," Maria said, moving on. "Aibhe, what are you?"
"Well, which mortal world do you live in? Do you live in the one past the fourth wall? Cause that's where you would need to conceal your magic.," Maria said questioningly, like she couldn't understand not needing to blend in with the mortals.
"Um… I live in…. StellaRen. Its ruled by a bunch of ** stars, its got some constellations in the sky, elves, fae. What world do you live in?"
"Oh it really is," Maria said, moving on. "Aibhe, what are you?"
"Human. probably. But I'm a skilled magic-user!" She said, smiling widely.
"Well the one beyond the forth wall of course. Don't be silly, where else would I live?" Maria said.
"Oh it really is," Maria said, moving on. "Aibhe, what are you?"
"Human. probably. But I'm a skilled magic-user!" She said, smiling widely.
"Interesting. What types of magic do you posses?"
"Oh it really is," Maria said, moving on. "Aibhe, what are you?"
"Human. probably. But I'm a skilled magic-user!" She said, smiling widely.
"Interesting. What types of magic do you posses?"
"Um… the magic type. Spells, Potions, Charms, and such."
"Well the one beyond the forth wall of course. Don't be silly, where else would I live?" Maria said.
"I'm just going to accept that and not ask any questions. ….. " Andreas pulls out a journal and begins to write something down.
"Very cool. I myself can make star constructs." Andreas summons a blue star-like sword and spins it around. "Not too durable though…" He very lightly pokes a tree with it, and it instantly dissolves.
"That's really cool, Andreas." Aibhe said, digging through their small handbag. "Is anyone hungry? I have a few apples."
Stumbling in late, as always, Joe runs in with her pink sweatshirt gliding. "Hello, friends!"
Stumbling in late, as always, Joe runs in with her pink sweatshirt gliding. "Hello, friends!"
"Hello!" Andreas waves hi to the new person, happy to see a new face.
"Hello! What's your name?"
The thing stares at Caladium so hard a physical form imposes itself into her mind and forces her to forget that it wasn't human.
"I am what the writers made me." it replies cheerfully right before Caladium forgets.
It turns to Andrea and chuckles. "Is that supposed to be an insult or compliment?"
Caladium blinks a few times. “Oh… alright then.” They keep their knife pointed warily at the creature.
“I am Joelle, but you can call me Joe!” Joe exclaims, throwing her long, curly locks of blonde hair into a messy bun.
Aibhe smiled widely, excited. They weren't sure what was going on, but it was going to be fun, they could tell.
"Nice to meet you Joe! I'm Andreas!" He waits a moment, sort of expecting Joe to be another weird one talking to an 'audience'.
