After a bit, Victor returned with breakfast. He offers a kind smile and hands Jared the plate of food while he settles back into the bed.
Jared sat up, taking the plate. "Thank you." he said softly.
"Of course." He murmured softly, a gentle smile on his lips as he grabbed a book from the bedside table as the other ate.
Jared ate quietly, not really talking while he ate.
Victor read quietly, keeping close to Jared in case of comfort and assurance. He wanted to help where he could.
(gtg now, sorry. Goodnight!)
Jared finished his food eventually, putting the plate on the bedside table.
Victor quietly turned a page in his book before marking it and putting it away. He glances at Jared and his eyes soften. "How was breakfast?"
"It was good. Thank you." He replied softly, looking over at Victor.
Victor nods and smiles. "Of course. I'm glad you enjoyed it." His voice was soft and warm. "Would you like to rest?" He asks softly.
He smiled faintly. "I…I guess so."
He nods and paused before gently pulling Jared into his lap and ran a hand through Jared's hair.
He froze for a moment, uncertain about what this meant, what exactly Victor was doing.
Victor didn't do much else, just held Jared in his arms as he read quietly. His eyes were soft as he read, his hand absently running through Jared's hair.
Jared was still and silent for a little longer, then slowly leaned back against Victor, letting out a quiet breath.
Victor smiled faintly when he felt the other relax against him, turning the page casually in his book. His breathing was slow and steady, his heart a rhythmic pace against his chest, all was peaceful… For now and least.
Jared let out a faint breath, closing his eyes for a moment.
Victor finished reading the chapter after a little while and set down the book. He still kept his arms around Jared as he rests back into the bed, making sure the other was comfortable.
Jared blinked when Victor shifted, but didn't really move.
Victor glanced at Jared. "How are you feeling?" He murmured. He wished be could do something to take away the pain the other had been going through but he didn't know how.
He shrugged faintly. "I…I don't know. I just…I can't believe he would do this to me." he replied in a quiet tone.
He nods a little and sighs deeply. "That's the frustrating thing about people. We never know what they're going to do." He kept Jared close, playing with his hair.
He nodded faintly. "Yeah. I just…" he shook his head a little. "It's not like he was talking about me, as a person, he…" he bit his lip faintly. "He just…used me. Like…like an object or something."
He nods slowly and ran his hand through Jared's hair. "What he put you through is unfair and quite fairly disgusting. You do not deserve what he as put you through. You are not an object. You are a living, breathing human being and what he did was wrong."
He leaned into the touch, closing his eyes. "I…I know." he whispered.
He nods, his eyes soft. Jared really didn't deserve anything that the world was putting him through. He really didn't. He continues to hold Jared and okay with his hair, wanting to become a source of comfort.
