"Oh– just some sort of banquet thing, I think. I think it's to celebrate one of my father's friends daughters getting married. I'm not sure though."
"Oh– just some sort of banquet thing, I think. I think it's to celebrate one of my father's friends daughters getting married. I'm not sure though."
He nods slowly and hums, "Well that sounds fun." he chuckles a little bit and leans back in his chair for a moment.
He nodded a little. "Yeah, I guess."
"Well then, this should be fun." He hummed and stretched a little bit before they pulled into the address. "In we go then." He chuckles.
He got out of the car, looking over at Victor. "Thank you for coming along."
Victor nods and offers a kind smile. "Of course. I'm glad to be here." He chuckles quietly before offering his arm to the other. "Shall we?"
He took Victor's arm, giving a careful smile. "Sure."
He chuckles and nods, guiding them up the steps and through the door, holding it open for Jared.
Jared came in through the door. They were greeted by a butler or some other servant. "Right this way, gentleman." The man said, leading them down a hallway. "I can take your coats, if you like."
"No thank you." Jared said, glancing at Victor for a moment.
Victor smiled a little at Jared before offering his arm to the other to lean on. He followed quietly after the butler. He glances over at the butler before shaking his head. "No, thank you." He replies as well, offering a quick smile before it disappeared as quickly as it came.
He took Victor's arm, and headed into the main hall. People were milling around, talking, some with drinks in their hands, some with plates of finger food.
Victor glances around slightly as they walked, humming as he let Jared guide him, easily keeping stride with the smaller male. He hums softly, his eyes scanning the area. It was in such a manner that it might appear like he was simply sightseeing, when in reality he was assessing the room as well as the people in it.
He moved around until he found his parents. "Hello mom, dad." He greeted, biting his lip faintly.
Victor nods his head respectfully towards Jared's parents, keeping quiet. He didn't say anything unless spoken to in public places. He had a relaxed look over his face.
His parents looked up. His mother was in a black dress, her blonde hair swept into an elegant bun. Jared got his hair from his father, whose red hair was neatly combed, and his beard trimmed short. "Good to see you could make it, Jared." his mother said with a soft smile.
Victor kept a gentle grip on Jared as he glanced around the party. He wanted to make sure things were clear before he interacted with anyone other than the family in front of him. He let the family talk, letting them have their time.
Jared nodded a little as he discussed a few things with his parents, such as why Victor was masquerading as a boyfriend rather than just as a bodyguard.
Victor kept quiet for the most part, explaining a few things here and there in a hushed but respectful tone. He glanced at Jared once and a while to make sure he was okay and comfortable.
Jared seemed fine; they were his parents, after all. They didn't seem entirely happy about the arrangement, but understood why Jared and Victor were doing it that way.
Victor was pleased to see that Jared was content enough with his parents. Victor didn't seem to feel awkward in the slightest. He oozed with confidence and strength.
Eventually, the crowd started to trickle into the dining area, which had been set up for dinner.
Victor took notice and glanced at Jared. For a moment, he seemed to falter. He hadn't really done dinners in a while. If he had, he was standing guard, not taking part. But it quickly faded away and he followed after the crowd, keeping Jared close.
Jared glanced up at him for a moment, offering a faint smile, then headed into the dining room. Seats had been assigned, with room left for some plus ones, like Victor. Jared was seated beside his mother and across from people he didn't know, with Victor at his left.
He followed after Jared quietly, noticing the small smile. He offered one of his own before he settled into his chair. He kept quiet for the most part, waiting to see what the others did before acting accordingly. He took a deep breath, wanting to make sure that he was doing everything right.
Jared picked up his napkin, unfolding it a little and then setting it in his lap, doing his best to remember all the manners he had been taught as a child.
