"Okay," he responded. Cade was a bit nervous about meeting with Abbadon again. Last time he had to do that, heaven and hell went to war, and Cade was left to lead an army. He had to do horrible things, and watch as the number of soldiers he had slowly dwindled. He didn't want to go through that again.
Rose led Cade around the building, going behind it. “It’s over there,” he said, nodding towards a completely normal seeming door, key pad lock to the right of it.
(sorry I haven't been responding that much, finals week has been hell and my dog ruined my biology project so I had to pull an all nighter on my birthday trying to fix it and I ended up failing anyway. But I wrote a hella gay thing between two of my characters and it actually turned out pretty well)
"What's the code?" he asked, gesturing to the key pad.
(Aw, shit man that sucks, I’m sorry about all that. And lol, at least something good happened)
“8335,” Rose said as he typed in the numbers. There was a beep, and the door made a clicking sound, unlocking. He pulled it open, but it just looked like a normal back entrance into the parking garage.
(how are gates supposed to work btw? I don't use them in my story)
(Uh well usually they look like normal doorways to humans, and they act as normal doorways to them as well. For beings such as demons or angels, you step inside and your surroundings will change, usually to a stairwell that would lead down to Hell)
(ah okay)
Cade stepped toward the door and turned to look at Rose. He held out his hand to him. He immediately regretted that decision, thinking he might have misinterpreted everything over overstepped his boundaries. But it's not like he could turn back from that now. "Ready to go?" He asked.
Rose’s cheeks flushed a tad as he looked at Cade’s outstretched hand, a light and giddy feeling forming in his stomach. “Yeah, I'm ready,” he said, managing to keep his voice steady as he put his hand in Cade’s.
Cade smiled, tightening his hand around Rose's slightly as he tried to keep himself calm. He stepped through the doorway, preparing himself for the journey to hell.
Rose smiled lightly at Cade’s grip on his hand. He followed Cade, feeling a quick temperature change as he stepped into the stairway. Hell never had that stereotypical burning hot feel, or at least not to him. It actually felt a bit cold to him.
Cade began to walk down the stairs. It felt empty in there, and every noise seemed to echo. The area was very dim, making it a bit difficult to see where he was going.
“This is a bit different than how it was when I came up,” Rose murmured, glancing around. He would have preferred to shift into his other form. The extra eye it provided would be a big help in the terrible lighting.
"Things change all of the time," Cade said. He shivered. "I don't remember it being this dark, though."
“Me neither. I guess their decorator doesn’t know what they are doing,” Rose said, though it was a pathetic attempt at trying to joke at that time.
Cade chuckled. "Or maybe maintenance hasn't swung by in like, 10,00 years."
Rose nodded and giggled a bit. “Yeah, that’s what it seems like. I wonder how many people have fallen down these stairs because of it.”
"Probably several," Cade said. He sighed, stopping for a moment. He looked down the staircase, and it seemed to get darker from there. He turned to Rose. "Would you mind if I used my demon form until we get down there?" He asked. His voice was quiet.
Rose looked at Cade, his red eyes seeming to shine in the darkness. “No, of course I don’t. I probably should too, just so I won’t break my human form’s arm going down..”
"Are you sure? I thought you said you got fevers after switching."
Ross nodded his head hesitantly. “I’ll be fine, it doesn’t get too bad. It just depends on how long I’m shifted for,” he explained, rubbing at the back of his neck. He was just worried about his appearance, like Cade had been before. He didn’t like shifting into his true form too often.
Cade scrunched his brow, looking down. "Okay, well, be careful," he said. With that, he quickly morphed into his siren form. The area around him instantly brightened, and he tensed when he realized how close he was to falling off the edge of the staircase.
Rose didn’t shift as quickly. His eyes changed first, pupils and irises vanishing so it was just the whites of his eyes. His skin turned red, a darker shade of crimson forming in markings along his flesh. The skin on his forehead seemed to split, a third eye appearing, and his hair grew a bit longer, now in various intricate braids. With a crack, wings had also sprouted from his back, but they seemed to look something like a cicada’s as they were clear. He breathed slightly heavier once he was shifted, glancing around at the now light room. “Better,” he said slowly, his teeth noticeably sharper.
(wow you're a lot better at describing things than me lol)
"Can you see well?" Cade asked. His skin felt dry and itchy, as it usually did when he was out of water in his siren form.
(Lmao thanks, but you did good describing yours earlier too)
“Yes, much better,” Rose said, a slight hiss in his tone as one of his two forked tongues slipped from between his lips as he spoke. He rubbed at the back of his neck, looking off the edge warily.
"Good, because the stairs look like they're getting narrower, so we have to start being more careful," he said. Cade leaned a little bit, trying to get a better look at how much farther they had to go.
