(Okay. I have to get ready for church so I'll probably join in a bit later.)
(Okie dokie)
(Alright!)
Earl smiled. "Mori, look. Tohru is right. It's not about whether or not you have 'skills'. You will never be another problem. The only problem will be the damned zombies."
He kneeled down to be at Mori' eyes. "I want to give you something." Earl said, taking out a small bird plush. "When I was a kid, this was my favorite thing to mess around with. I take it you like birds, considering your mask."
Rachel looked out into the nearby woods. Her danger senses were going insane. But nothing was there.
"Just my imagination then…"
(Bye!)
Mori hiccuped a bit as he listened to Earl, rubbing at his eyes again with one tiny fist. His face was pale other than the blotches of pink from crying, and he looked like he was exhausted. When the plush was offered to him, he examined it curiously for a few seconds before tentatively accepting it and nodding. "U-Um… thank you…" He stammered quietly. He couldn't remember ever having been given a gift before.
"And Mori, think about it, if I hadn't met you, I would've believed I didn't have any family left in this world. I probably wouldn't have come with you guys if you weren't here." Levi said, giving Mori a smile.
He used the couch to push himself up and went to join Rachel. "Anything?" He asked, slowly scanning the landscape.
Lilac smiled softly. “It’s adorable…” she muttered, pulling Mori closer to her. “You should get some sleep now…you look like you need it,” she told him before mouthing the words “Thank you,” to Earl. Luka stirred in his sleep, mumbling something about what seemed to be…Hailey.
"Yeah," Tohru agreed, "You gave me a reason to keep trying to survive, even after a lot of bad things happened to me."
He let out a tired sigh.
"Here, you can sleep next to me. I'm sleepier than I've been in days, so I might as well do it while I can, right?"
Lis looked over at Rachel and Levi as they came outside, glancing away from where she was cutting deer meat away from the bone and handing it off to Bean.
"Hey there. Everything alright?"
Mori nodded weakly, a bit more color coming into his face at the reassurance. He still seemed uneasy, but yawned and closed his eyes anyways. They wanted him to sleep, and he knew he needed it, so he figured he might as well try. It took him a few minutes, but he was soon dozing with the bird plush held close to his chest. When Luka moved, Kas grumbled softly in his sleep and held tighter to him, not wanting him to be moving.
Bean took the meat and got to work on cooking it. Lilac smiled. “Yeah, I’ll check on Luka,” she told them before walking over to her brother, who was starting to have trouble with sleeping. She put her hand on Luka’s shoulder to reassure him that everything was going to be okay and he calmed down.
"Nothing yet. Everything's fine. My brother hasn't met you yet, somehow, Lis." Rachel said.
"Levi, how's Mori and Tohru doing? Are they getting better?" She asked hopefully, looking to the way she and her brother had came to save everyone.
Earl nodded at Lilac before walking out to the porch to smoke.
"Come on…come on…" He sighed as his lighter wouldn't light. "Damn it."
Earl took off his backpack, looking for some lighter fluid.
"Hey, I'll give you a light," Lis offered, grabbing her own lighter and getting up to hand it to Earl.
She stopped in the middle of the group of people.
"Is everyone okay in there? There was a lot of commotion in there earlier, so I kind of just hung out here and prepped the deer in the meantime. Figured it was a bad time to intrude."
"Tohru is doing better, he was panicking, I helped him calm down. Mori seems to be doing better." Levi said, continuing to keep watch. "I'm sorry that the only way we've met was me being stabbed by a zombie, what a wild first meeting, huh?"
(Yall I think there is exactly one whole straight character here lmao)
(pfft-)
(Nah, Hailey was straight too-)
(cough)
(Yeah, was. ;-; It's all good, I have the one toke straight friend irl too lmaooo)
Luka cuddled up with Kas after calming down. He was glad he was there…it helped lighten the mood. Lilac smiled softly as she sat next to them. Bean continued to cook the meat, remembering how her dad taught her how to do it. She smiled a little. “Thanks, Dad…” she whispered to herself as she held back tears. God, she missed her parents so much.
(I'm fairly sure Earl is straight too-)
(I double checked the sheets to make sure before I claimed that, and it said bi lol)
(Oh, cool)
Earl looked up, surprised. "Oh, thanks." He took the lighter gingerly and lit his cigarette.
"Name's Earl. Yours?" He said, handing the lighter back.
Rachel laughed. "Definitely. You gave us all a scare. Although, I'm not sure that tops my brother and I following you all."
Lis was about to hold out her hand to shake, but remembered she had deer blood on her and stopped.
"Name's Lis. I hope I can be of use to you guys."
Earl smirked and shook Lis' hand. "Well, you seem to be a good enough butcher. I'm a hunter myself, so maybe we can work together sometime."
He glanced at the deer. "Compliments though. That is clean."
Rachel looked over at Earl and chuckled. "Well well well, seems like he has a new friend."
