“I just went out and got food, there’s some things in the fridge,” Corbin answered, propping his leg up on another chair as he put some disinfectant onto a piece of gauze to dab on the wound.
“I just went out and got food, there’s some things in the fridge,” Corbin answered, propping his leg up on another chair as he put some disinfectant onto a piece of gauze to dab on the wound.
Matrix makes a bee line for the fridge and starts dumping everything in reach on the table, "Cool!"
“And at least clean up your mess this time,” Corbin grumbled, giving a hiss of pain afterwards from pressing too hard on the wound. After cleaning it, he pressed more gauze to the gash before wrapping it tightly with bandages.
Matrix's ears twitch at the sound. His hands tense slightly at the feeling of pain. He shakes his head and starts to dive into the food.
Corbin stayed sitting for a while, simply watching the demon. He gave a huff, searching through his wallet. He was very low on money, and he ran a hand through his slightly damp hair while his jaw clenched. He needed to go out sometime soon and find something that could earn him some more money. He pushed himself to his feet with a grunt, moving to the fridge and taking out a small bottle of beer. He popped the cap off before going to sit back down. “Got a name?” He asked the demon after studying it for a moment longer.
Matrix looks up, his cheeks puffed with food, 'Why? You're just going to get rid of me anyway." He sits up on the table, resting his feet on a chair
“I will, but in the mean time if you are going to be hanging around and eating my food, I would like to know,” Corbin said, bringing the bottles to his lips and tipping the drink back.
Matrix drops the food that he had raised to his mouth. His eyes narrow as he straightens up, "That doesnt sound right. I still dont get why you would care."
“God, you’re just making it complicated. I never said that I cared, it’s just getting tedious to refer to you as ‘demon’,” Corbin huffed.
"In my opinion that entire sentence was a waste of time. But… I suppose… Name's Matrix." Matrix turns tail and digs in the fridge again for anything else that is edible.
“That’s a different name…” Corbin said slowly, more to himself than to Matrix. He took another swig from his bottle, stretching his legs out slightly to get more comfortable.
"And what do you mean by that, shrimp." Matrix pops his head out of the freezer with another carton of ice cream-
“Nothing,” Corbin said, a heavy frown on his face. He had never received so much disrespect from one person. He was always respected for being a Navy Seal, even if he was injured. That made him assume that Matrix didn’t know anything about that sort of thing. He let out a sharp breath, getting to his feet as he grabbed his cane and walked to the backdoor. He opened it, calling Orion out before stepping into the yard and sitting in the grass.
"Hm?" Matrix watches without moving. He slowly bites another spoonful of ice cream. He narrows his eyes at the human, the spoon sticking out of his mouth, "Man… He is as moody as a little teenage girl…" He mutters to himself.
Corbin ran a hand through his hair, glancing up to squint at the sun. He looked back down and watched Orion sniff around the fenced in yard. The dog soon bounded over and nudged him. He didn’t even realize that his hands had started shaking and trembling until he rested them on Orion’s fur.
Matrix walks to the door and leans on the door jam. He digs out another chunk of ice cream and devoured it. His ears twitch as he senses the human's (Problems? Lol I dont know what they are)
(Yeah, I guess you could just say anxiety, considering Matrix doesn’t know about his PTSD)
Corbin let his shoulders slouched as he ran his hands over Orion’s fur. The dog laid down with his head on his lap. He scratched behind Orion’s ears, letting out a soft sigh to himself.
(Ok cool)
Matrix crouches down. His fingers and hand had gone numb with the cold of the ice cream. His eyes shine eerily in the odd light of the house behind him
After Corbin had managed to start to breathe normally, Orion padded off, only to come back with a tennis ball in his mouth. He smiled and took the ball from Orion, throwing it across the yard for him.
Matrix eyes the dog as it runs off. He throws the carton toward the human, "You're boring."
“Not much I can do, being injured an all. Least I’m not a total asshole,” Corbin shot back. He didn’t even bother looking back at Matrix, not really caring enough to do so.
Matrix snarls at the human but can't think of a proper come back. he just crosses his arms and stands straight again
Orion came bounding back, dropping the ball in front of Corbin. He threw it again, watching for a moment. He then grabbed onto his crutch, moving to push himself to a standing position with a bit of difficulty as pain shot through his leg.
Matrix stands and takes a few steps to try and help the human but pauses, "Nah." And he sits back down
Corbin got to his feet, giving Matrix a look before heading back insdie. He walked down the hallway, going into his bedroom and then into the bathroom. He washed his face off with water, rubbing at his eyes for a moment.
