“It matters because I have to spend all my savings on getting extra food,” Corbin snapped, a heavy frown suddenly coming to his lips. He had his savings to spend on better medical treatments and medication, maybe even a better car or house.
"Then finish me. Right here and now." Matrix barks. He whirls around, grabbing something from the sink and slamming it down where the human's hand once was. It was a large kitchen knife.
Corbin flinched slightly when Matrix slammed the knife down. He gave a growl, backhanding Matrix sharply and sending him to the floor.
Matrix wheels backward into the sink. He crumples to the ground. His chest was heaving as he sat up straight. He look up at the human and his eyes shone from under his bangs, "WHY?!"
“I don’t know! Why are you still here?! Just fucking get out!” Corbin shouted, standing his ground on the matter. Orion gave a whine at the yelling, nudging at Corbin’s hand with his nose.
"Dont you hate demons?! Dont you want them dead?!" Matrix rises slowly to his feet. His eyes glowing eerily through his bangs
“I don’t fucking hate anyone, I never said that,” Corbin snapped, shaking his head a tad. This was getting tiring and all it was doing was stressing him out.
"Ya know… It'd be so easy…" Matrix reaches forward and grabs the knife slowly off the table. A wave off dark energy sprang from his essence as he moved.
Corbin’s eyes narrowed as Matrix picked up the knife, and he got up from his seat to put a bit of distance between them. This demon was insane. He didn’t even want to be doing this hunter job. He only did it to get money- he never wanted to hurt or kill anyone.
Matrix swings the knife slowly over to his chest where his 'heart' was. He could sense the human's discomfort. He was waiting. Waiting for a response from him.
"Go on…" He challenges, the point of the blade inches from the steaming flesh.
“I’m not going to do that,” Corbin hissed, glaring sharply at Matrix. He was doing his best to stay firm in the decision. As much as the demon annoyed him most of the time, he didn’t like killing.
Matrix snorts. He throws the knife down on the table where it stuck, point down and quivering, "Weak." he walked past the human and out of the house. He walked down the streets and into the small town nearby.
Restaurant, hotel, restaurant, bank, restaurant restaurant, pause, doubles back to the bank.
Corbin huffed sharply as he shook his head. He went to the door, shutting and locking it. He ran a hand through his hair, then over his forming stubble. He limped over to his bedroom, then to the bathroom. He picked up his razor, looking at himself in the mirror for a moment.
Matrix holds his hands up to the glass of the bank and it immediately melted right down to the edges of the metal. He steps through the metal frames and walks straight forward toward the vaults and computers.
Corbin set the razor down, deciding that the stubble looked good on himself. He stepped back into his bedroom, sitting down on the edge of his bed. He peeled back the bandages, sighing as he looked at the gash. He thought of Matrix for a moment, how the demon had helped him up the stairs and such. Why would he have helped? He thought that Matrix would have shot or stabbed him when he was down.
Matrix stepped out of the smoldering wreck of the vault room. His hands where empty. He had a small draw string bag slung over one shoulder. Alarms where blaring all around him as he calmly left the bank and literally strutted down the street.
Corbin covered the wound again before getting up again. He walked without his crutch now, working through the pain to go into the backyard with Orion. He threw the ball for the dog again, humming to himself.
Matrix walks past all the police, firefighters and ambulance. He walks around a few blocks of the town before heading back toward the human's house. The bag of money clinks slightly with the coins and hundreds of dollar bills
Corbin continued to toss the ball for Orion, occasionally giving the dog a scratch. He stopped humming, glancing up towards the clouded sky. It looked like it was about to rain.
Matrix pauses around the side of the house then leans over the human's head, "I'm back bitch."
He drops the money on the human's stomach.
Corbin jumped slightly at the sudden voice, looking up at Matrix then down at the sack. “What is this?” He asked, arching a brow at the demon. He sat back up a bit more, frowning down at the bag.
Matrix shrugs and starts walking out into the woods.
Corbin opened the bag, eyes widening with shock as he saw all the money. “Hold on a second, what the hell is all of this?!” He shouted to Matrix.
:Money. Haven't you seen it before?" Matrix doesnt pause on his way back to the forest and shadows
“Where did you get it?” Corbin called. He cursed softly to himself, pushing to his feet gingerly and heading towards Matrix. It was difficult, considering he didn’t have his crutch, but he could stand it. He needed questions answered.
