Afriel glared, "yes actually. Believe it or not I really don't like the cold." Most Angels where used to it from all the flying they did, but then again even in a war, there's hardly anytime to fly.

Zackary blinked at her a couple times. “Alright, you do you.” He curled back up, as warm as a little burrito. His warmth didn’t actually help warm her up, just gently teased her cold, goosebump covered skin.
With a deep sigh Afriel leaned her head back trying to welcome sleep. Even in the cold. It took some time, but sleep finally over took her.
(Time skip to when her wing is better?)
(Sure.)
(Yeet)
It was another night. Zackary had given her approval to leave just a few hours ago and had been very quiet since, gazing out the cave entrance and eating some deer he found.
(Oof again pardon my stupidity, but has she left yet?)
(No)
(Okay.)
Afriel milled around in the background, she didn't want to have to go back to the war. Heck she could just 'stay dead' and run away if she'd liked. But at the same time she couldn't just abanded her comrades like that. Thoughs that where left at least.
Zackary leaned up against the wall, feeling warm, full and tired.
“I’m going to sleep. You can go now, if you’d like.”
"I've been gone long enough." Afriel stretched her wings testing for pain. For any reason to stay. But there was none. "Thanks again, for everything really." She gave him a slight smile as she got ready to launch herself back into a war she wanted no part in, "I guess the next time we meet it'll be life or death." Her smile turned slightly sad as she turned and left. Her large wings beating behind her.
Zackary didn’t respond when she left, nor did he move to go himself. He stayed, wrapped in his own wings and against the cave wall, his stomach wound throbbing fiercely.
At least I’ll be able to tend to this, now…
The rush of cold air agents her face made her feel so free, like long before all that'd happened. A twing of guilt stung at Afriel. She felt as if she should have given him something for being so nice, but then again she had nothing to give.
Zackary glanced out of the cave mouth to make sure she was gone. He tugged the little container out of his pocket, moved his wings and pulled up his shirt. He knew this was going to hurt like an ass on ice-hot metal, but he dipped his fingers into the sap and applied it to his wound nevertheless. He’d still need to stay there for a few days as this healed… after all, Hell wouldn’t let him back in if he were injured.
(Would it ruin any plans if Afriel decided she "forgot something" and went back up?)
(Heh, no, but a lot of logic would be sent out to play.)
(Does that mean She can? Again, as I've said it many times now, pardon my stupidity.)
(Yes, she can.)
(Alrighty. Again, sorry.)
Afriel pulled up just as the ground came in sight. For a second she just stayed there. Her wings flapping to keep her level. Afriel shook her head at herself and shot back into the sky coming back to the cave.
Zackary waited for the sap to dry then put his shirt down carefully. He put the little container back just as Afriel came into eyesight of the cave.
"Hey uh-" Suddenly Afriel felt stupid for coming back. "I um…forgot something."
Zackary glanced over. “Forgot something? You didn’t have anything when we came here!”
"I mean I forgot to-" Afriel searched for what to say, "to tell you something." She landed on the lip in the cave entry folding her wings neatly on her back. "If you uh, ever need help with something, I'm willing to be that help. As a way to pay you back."
Zackary shrugged. “No problem. You don’t have to pay me back.”
"Then think of it as a favor." Afriel took a step back to leave again. "Uh sorry for coming back." She mumbled before once again dropping from the cliff.
