(Morning :)
"You got that right, hun," Miss May said, shaking her head as she turned back to the two boys. "That little devil didn't belong in my diner." She smiled, "You two are an absolutely adorable couple, but do please keep the affection down a bit over here. Even non-homophobic people can be uncomfortable with it."
“Okay,” Chase nodded, slightly disappointed but overall glad Kemp was gone. He intertwined his hand with Alistair’s. If he hadn’t been there, Kemp probably would have harassed Chase a lot more and Kendall and the owner might not have even noticed.
"You two enjoy your breakfast," Miss May said with a smile, causing her eyes to crinkle. "And, Alistair, bring your boyfriend around more often, 'kay?" Alistair nodded shyly and May left to go greet other patrons.
Kendall watched her walk away, then turned to the boys, "Man, that guy was a first-class d***," she said. "Does he go to your school?"
“Yeah,” Chase replied sadly, staring at the floor, “I’m kinda used to that stuff by now.” He started wringing his hands as he chewed on his lip. Chase leaned his head on Alistair’s shoulder.
"Sorry, dude," Kendall said with a sympathetic look. "But don't worry, there's more good than bad, and you'll meet plenty of people who don't care about your differences. I know I have," she smiled. "Anyway, back to work! What can I get you two to eat?"
Chase looked back up at Kendall, “We’ll take a breakfast sandwich and an omelette,” Chase felt happy ordering for Alistair. It just felt like it cement the fact that they were a couple. Chase smiled at his boyfriend.
"Sounds perfect," Alistair said, much happier now that Kemp was gone.
"Alrighty! That'll be coming right out!" Kendall said brightly and walked back to the kitchen.
Alistair turned to Chase, smiling. "Soooooo… after we have breakfast, go to the park, and do homework, would you like to go to the movies?"
(Sorry I disappeared, I had an away golf match)
“Yes!” Chase beamed at his boyfriend, “What movie?”
(you're good. Also, pretend this movie is still in theaters)
"How about Ready Player One?" Alistair suggested. "I haven't seen it yet, but I love the soundtrack."
“Sure! I saw the trailer the other day and it looked pretty cool. I can’t wait!” Chase smiled brightly and squeazed Alistair’s arm. He hummed happily as they waited for their food.
Kendall arrived with there food only a couple of minutes later.
"Here ya go, boys!" she said, dramatically putting their plates in front of them. "Dig in!!"
Chase smiled and took a hearty bite out of his sandwich, then offering some to Alistair. “It’s really good,” Chase said between bites.
Alistair took the sandwich from Chase and took a bite. "Mmmm, this is really good!" he replied. "Here, try some of my omelet."
Chase tasted the omelet. It was just as good as his sandwich. Chase smiled as Alistair, “I love this. I love you.” Chase rested his head on Alistair shoulder. He felt so safe when he was around him, and everything was so perfect. Nothing could possibly wreck Chase’s life right now, when he was with Alistair.
Alistair smiled, wrapped an arm around Chase's waist and rested his head on Chase's. "Love you, too, babe." How lucky could Alistair get? Chase was the sweetest boy he had ever met and, not counting Kemp, the last twenty-four hours had been some of the best in his life.
Chase slowly finished his sandwich, stealing bites of Alistair’s omelet and offering bits of his breakfast sandwich to Alistair along the way. Once he finished, he looked fondly at Alistair, “I’m ready for a walk in the park whenever you are, babe.”
"Alrighty, let me just go pay really quick," Alistair replied with a smile, kissing Chase on the forehead and walking over to the counter.
Chase savored the phantom kiss that lingered on his forehead. He’d found Alistair, and they were together now. Nothing could go wrong at all. Chase linked his arm around Alistair’s as his boyfriend paid.
Kendal smiled at the two boys as Alistair paid. "You guys better come back often, you here?" she said, handing Alistair his change. "It's always nice to see familiar faces."
"Will do, Kennie," Alistair replied with a grin and a mock salute.
“Yep,” Chase grinned, before tugging on Alistair’s arm to go out to the park. Once they were outside, with the fresh spring breeze with the hints of wildflowers, Chase looked at Alistair, beaming, and asked, “Can you sing me a song while we walk? Please?”
Alistair smiled back at him, his eyes crinkling, "Of course, love. Anything you'd like me to sing?"
“That first song. The first song I ever heard you sing,” Chase responded, tucking himself underneath Alistair’s arm.
Still smiling, Alistair began to sing, "Loving can hurt, loving can hurt sometimes, but it's the only thing that I know. When it gets hard, you know it can get hard sometimes, it is the only thing makes us feel alive…"
Chase closed his eyes, swaying slightly with the music. It left a good taste in his mouth as he wrapped his arm around Alistair’s waist and they walked through the park together. Chase could practically guarantee they were the happiest couple there.
