Nyx watched the penguins for a moment, then stuck to Jude's side again. His eyes snagged on a mom with her kids, and he frowned a little bit, thinking.

Jude walked with Nyx through the exit of the zoo, smiling at the warm sun above and the gentle wind swaying the trees surrounding the parking lot.
Nyx was smiling still, holding onto Jude's hand. "Thank you for taking me here." he said, kissing Jude's cheek happily.
"Of course," Jude grinned as they slowly approached his car, "You wanted to go here, how could I say no?"
Nyx shrugged. "Pretty easily." he replied with a little smile, still holding onto Jude's hand and smiling. He looked so happy.
Jude shook his head, "No, not when you smile like you do." He leaned in, kissing his smile to prove it.
Nyx shrugged a little bit. "Fine." He replied, kissing Jude back and smiling happily. He wrapped an arm around Jude.
"Hmm, you ready to go get some food?" Jude smiled, running a hand through Nyx's hair, "This place's grilled cheese sandwiches are worth dying for."
Nyx nodded. "Alright." he replied, letting go of Jude and heading towards the car again. "Let's go." he smiled happily.
Jude smiled as they made their way to the car, pressing the unlock button that came with a chirp. He hopped in and buckled in his seatbelt, sighing at the feeling of the sun-warmed leather seats.
Nyx was quiet, sitting down and getting buckled. He was still smiling softly, looking up at Jude for a moment, then away again.
Jude sighed as he twisted the key into the ignition, humming as the car whirred to life and the music softly played on the radio. He backed out of the parking space, turning and merging off into the main road.
Nyx listened to the music, waiting for them to arrive at the restaurant where they were going to be eating. He was still smiling, just a little bit.
It was only a short drive into Little Italy, and it was noticeably different to Manhattan, with it's shorter buildings further scattered, making it seem sunnier and village-like compared to the towering skyscrapers. Soon he eased the car into a parking space just across the street from a little corner side cafe with outdoor seating. "We're heeeere," Jude said in a singsong voice, glancing over at Nyx.
Nyx was smiling, looking around at the buildings. He turned his attention to Jude, and smiled again. "Okay!" He unbuckled and got out of the car, looking around.
Jude hopped out of the car, locking it as he walked over to the side. "There it is," Jude said, smiling with a bit of pride as he pointed at the little restaurant across the street
Nyx looked, and nodded a little bit. "Let's go." he said with a smile, looking over at Jude for a moment, then back at the restaurant.
Jude smiled and took his hand, sending a casual glance down the road before walking across the street. Who needs crosswalks?
Nyx walked with Jude, his fingers linked with the other male's. "What type of food do they serve here?" he asked curiously.
"Hmm mostly Italian, I think," Jude shrugged, sighing happily at the warm breeze that drifted through the street, "There's some French too, but this place is pretty casual and nicely priced– so not too fancy."
He nodded. "Oh. That sounds really cool." he replied with a quick, happy smile, looking at the restaurant. "Can you pick the food for me?"
"Sure, we'll have what I usually get– we order at the counter," Jude said as they walked through the front door, nodding at the long bar and wide chalkboards ahead.
Nyx nodded a little bit. "Okay. Thank you." he replied with a soft, happy little smile.
Jude smiled and turned to the hostess at the counter, greeting her and placing two of his usual orders for lunch and their drinks. He paid for their soon-to-be meal and nodded over at the outdoor seating, drenched in the warm sunlight, "You wanna sit outside? They'll bring the food over when it's ready."
Nyx nodded, and headed for the seats, picking a table and sitting down. He was still smiling, so in awe of this world that he had never had a chance to be a part of, and now he was a part of it.
