Nyx followed Jude, and nodded, scanning the bushes for the tortoise. He finally spotted it, and pointed. "There it is!" he said with a grin, holding onto Jude's hand.
(should we skip to the end of the zoo visit, or nah?)

"Hmm," Jude smiled, raising his eyebrows at the tortoise munching on some leaves nearby, "It's there, but if it was going any slower I'd think it was a rock."
(sure, i was thinking of havin them go to the butterfly garden on their way out –thought it'd be cute–)
(Ooh yes! Want me to do it, or do you want to?)
(uh..doesn't matter :) you can if you like, que starry-eyed Nyx trying to steal one)
(I can't, sorry. Not gonna be active tonight and I don't have time atm to type out a good one. Sorry!)
(all good~)
As they made their way down the main path back to the entrance, another exhibit caught Jude's eye. "Mhh– before we leave!" He almost squealed, pointing at the decorative trestle sign in front of the tented structure; Butterfly Garden.
Nyx raised his eyebrows a little bit. "Oh, what's in there?" he asked curiously, looking at the structure, then at Jude, then at the building again.
"Um– butterflies!" Jude beamed, wide-eyed and gently tugging Nyx along, "Just– come on, you'll see."
Nyx smiled a little, and let Jude tug him along. "Alright, alright." they got in line to go in, and he looked around curiously, taking in everything.
Jude let out a gentle sigh at the interior of the tented atrium and the bright flowers that lined the path. Butterflies fluttered from flower to flower, their gentle wings fluttering overhead. "Butterflies," Jude softly said to Nyx, smiling at a yellow-winged one that flew close to his nose.
Nyx's blue eyes went wide with wonder as he looked around, mouth opening into a faint "O". "They're beautiful!" he exclaimed, looking up at Jude with a wide grin.
"They are," Jude breathed, smiling at Nyx and the fluttering colors in his peripheral. The soft laughter of other people around him seemed to brighten the place, a few children trailing after some fleeting butterflies.
Nyx held out a hand, and a butterfly landed on his fingers. He held his hand closer to his face, eyes wide. "Jude! Jude, look!"
"Oh– I'm looking, I'm looking!" Jude said as he fumbled for his phone; this was too good to not take a photo of. "It's–ahh!" He smiled, holding his phone up and desperate to catch Nyx's gleeful expression transfixed on the butterfly.
Nyx kept staring at the butterfly, grinning happily. "Jude can I keep it?" he asked, looking up at the other male. "Can we bring it back to the apartment? Please??"
Jude let out a warm laugh, his eyes flickering from Nyx's huge smile to the butterfly resting on his hand. "Um," He smiled, would it be a big deal? Oh, he's so happy– look at him. Would it really– "No," Jude sighed, "I'm sorry, I don't think it would be a good idea."
Nyx let out a disappointed sigh. "Aww. Why not?" he kept his gaze on the butterfly on his fingers, watching as its wings opened and closed.
"Mhh– I don't want us to get into some type of trouble," Jude said, running a hand through his hair and looking at Nyx, "As much as I'd like to sneak it back to the apartment."
Nyx sighed softly, but nodded. The butterfly, disturbed by the air movement caused by the sighs, fluttered up into the air again. He watched it go, smiling.
Jude smiled as the butterfly took flight, "Hmm," He sighed before turning to face him, "You know there are butterflies– like, out and about, right? Mostly in the springtime."
Nyx blinked at Jude. "No, I didn't!" he replied. Not sarcastically, but genuinely. He gave Jude another wide-eyed, happy smile.
"Oh. Well– there you go," Jude shrugged, softly laughing at Nyx's reaction, "There are a lot of different butterflies out there, and they love bein' around flowers. So that's where you'll probably find 'em."
Nyx nodded a little bit. "Can we go see them? This summer?" he asked, turning to watch the butterflies drifting through the exhibit.
Jude tilted his head to the side in thought, "We're not gonna find many in the city…" He said, trying to recall any fields close enough, "Oh! But um– the field I took you to. It fills with buttercups and honeysuckle flowers when the weather's right, we could go there."
"Can we??" Nyx asked excitedly, eyes flashing to look around the room, but yes wide as he took in the butterflies.
