Nyx stuck out his tongue, thoroughly embarrassed. "Meanie." He grumbled, glad that he couldn't blush or his face would have been bright red.
Nyx stuck out his tongue, thoroughly embarrassed. "Meanie." He grumbled, glad that he couldn't blush or his face would have been bright red.
"I am not a meanie." Jude said with a laugh, bringing a hand to his chest in mock offence, "I am simply speaking the truth about what's up." He leaned his head on one of the couch cushions, cheekily smiling up at him, "It's not my fault you're gettin' all hot and bothered."
Nyx whined faintly, hiding his face again. "You're teasing me." He protested, squirming in his seat. "Meanie."
"Not a meanie," Jude chuckled, shaking his head as he smiled at Nyx, "I'm not trying to be mean, honest. It's just funny how you're gettin' all shy about this."
He stuck his tongue out childishly. "You never said it was like that." he complained, hiding his face again after a moment.
Jude smiled as he let out a sigh, reaching up to gently move Nyx's hands away. "Okay, so, maybe I forgot to mention a few things," He said with a laugh, "But I was driving! Maybe I was a little distracted. And– it's kinda hard to explain."
Nyx stuck his tongue out again. "Meanie." he grumbled again, not really meaning it at all.
Jude rolled his eyes, smiling as he shook his head. "Fine," He said, sticking his tongue out, "Call me what you like. 'Meanie' says he's sorry for not explaining it clearly."
He shook his head a little bit. "You better be sorry." he replied, wrinkling his nose at Jude and squirming in his seat.
Jude let out a soft laugh, sighing. "I am sorry," He said, nodding as he pressed a faint kiss on Nyx's cheek, "But not too sorry. I still think this whole situation is hilarious."
Nyx stuck his tongue out again. "You're mean." He grumbled, making a face at Jude. "You're making fun of me."
"I am not!" Jude laughed, shaking his head and folding his arms, "I'm not, honest. I'm making fun of the situation. Nyx, really, I'm not tryna be mean."
He grumbled again, squirming in his seat. He wasn't mad, just embarrassed at everything. The fact that he didn't know about anything.
(gtg sorry)
Jude rested his head on a couch cushion as he smiled at Nyx. "What can I do to make ya feel better about this?" He asked, letting out a comfortable sigh.
"I don't know." he replied, looking away with embarrassment printed plainly across his features.
"C'mon," Jude said with a soft laugh, taking Nyx's hand, "It's not that big of a deal, right? It's all good. You don't have to be embarrassed or anything. Is there anything I can do to help?" Breakfast?
Nyx shook his head a little, still embarrassed at everything. "No." He grumbled.
Jude let out a soft sigh, looking at Nyx with a faint smile. "Do you want me to leave you alone for a bit?" He asked, raising his eyebrows softly, "I can make breakfast for us, too."
Nyx thought for a moment, then nodded. "Okay." he replied, looking at Nyx and pouting a little bit, then looking away again.
Jude nodded, pressing a gentle kiss on his cheek as he stood, walking towards the kitchen with a tired smile as the morning light filtering through his windows and the muffled sound of traffic filled the quiet apartment. He hesitated at the sound of scratching at his door and figured it was Macy wanting to be let in. It'll cheer him up, Jude thought as he let the cat in, closing the door behind her and heading back to the kitchen to brew some coffee and make some french toast with cinnamon.
Nyx was still embarrassed and uncomfortable and wishing that he knew more about everything. He felt so…stupid, sometimes, when he didn't understand things that should be obvious.
Jude hummed as he got out the ingredients for their breakfast, switching on the coffee maker and looking over at Nyx as Macy wandered into the living room, smiling softly to himself as he whisked the eggs and brought down a few of his handmade plates and mugs.
Nyx reached down to pick up Macy, petting her gently and smiling faintly at the cat. He still hated how small and ignorant he felt on a daily basis.
Jude smiled as he made their french toast, sprinkling cinnamon on it as it cooked and pouring some coffee for them, setting it on the table with some syrup for their food. Soon, the sweet smell of cinnamon and vanilla was drifting from the kitchen as he served their breakfast, arranging a little smiley face made out of whipped cream on Nyx's plate. He was hoping that breakfast might make him feel a little better and maybe distract him from the whole…book situation, but he knew this was a big thing to process.
Nyx buried his face in Macy's fur, still holding onto the little cat. Why do I have to be like this? He wondered, swallowing and taking a deep breath.
