Yuki burst out laughing. She grabbed a few paper towels and started to dry the counter, and just as she predicted, a green stain remained on the counter. “Just cover it with some of Armand’s notes. He never really organizes them anyway.”
Rowan made sure the counter was dry before scattering notes on top of it. "There, you happy now?" Rowan raised an eyebrow at Yuki, trying to hide an amused smile.
“Yeah.” Yuki smiled. “That almost made me feel like a normal child. It’s not my fault my childhood was taken away from me.”
"Well I'm sure Armand will make us both feel like children after he yells at us when he gets back." Rowan stretched and stifled a yawn.
“He will be so mad! I wonder if he’s brave enough to yell at me! He can yell, but he can’t make me do anything!” Yuki was almost excited to get yelled at. It would be like back in the good days before the war and the torture camp, when her mother used to yell at her when she did stuff like this. Yuki felt like a small child again.
"I think doctors know best when it comes to their patients, Ms. President. Rowan is not going to combat training." Harrison's brow twitched, and she let out a 'tsk'. "Knock it off, you old fool, I don't think you understand what's at stake here, Armand.." He'd continue to smile, looking her directly in the eyes. "Oh come on, you say not to call you by your name, and here you're tyring to reason with me. I'm not even that old! Just because my body aches and cracks.. Man Harrison. It sounds like you're about to insinuate I would let her go." He'd say humorously, smirking.
"ARMAND." She stood quickly, both hands on her desk.
(Go guys you gots this)
"I'm pretty sure he's going to yell at us. He's not exactly afraid of us." Rose smirked, amused by Yuki's excitement.
“It’s been awhile since I’ve been yelled at. Besides by prison guards.”, Yuki said.
"Well I'm glad you have something to look forward to." Rowan failed to stifle another yawn, closing her eyes for a moment. "I can't even wrap my head around everything happened today. I hope Kodiak is okay."
Yuki waited for Rowan to fall asleep. She had a plan. “Goodnight, Rowan.”, she said and pretended to find a place to sleep. Yuki never really slept anyway.
Rowan let out a muffled "Goodnight." As she snuggled back into her cot, kicking off her shoes and dozing off underneath the warm blankets.
Yuki crept out of the office. She turned a corner and ran. The gladiator battle is tomorrow! Unless I can stop it! Yuki sprinted until she got to a guarded door. I only promised Nyir I wouldn’t kill. I never said I wouldn’t mildly hurt anyone. Besides, It’s for Kodiak. Yuki justified the act of knocking out the guards. She headed towards them, ready for a fight.
The scream of the wind filled Rowan's ears. She was alone in the middle of a bloody battlefield. The last survivor. "Yuki?! Armand?!" Rowan yelled at the top of her lungs, but the wind Rose and howled, drowning out her words. She could see a body that looked vaguely familiar. "Kodiak?" Rowan choked, racing towards it. She kneeled in the dirt and ended up sinking in quicksand. "HELP!" Rowan screamed. Blood rained down from the skies as she struggled to keep her head above the red earth. Darkness enclosed on her vision and then suddenly…
Rowan shot up in bed, drenched in sweat and tears. "Yuki?" Rowan sniffles and called out weakly. There was no reply. It's fine. She probably went to get water or something. She tried to assure herself, but Rowan just couldn't shake the feeling something bad was coming. For now she would stay awake until Yuki got back. Until she could be sure Yuki was safe.
Yuki knocked the first guard out in no time with a knee to the head. The next guard was thin and fragile. Yuki slammed her head into the metal door. A loud bang echoed through the halls. The guard twitched, the light leaving her eyes, and fell to the floor. Despite being beaten up, the guards were still breathing. Their chests rose and fell and the female guard wheezed. Nyir would be mad, but Yuki didn’t exactly care. She twisted the lock and it popped. It would only be a matter of time before people found out about the gaurds and the lock, so Yuki worked quickly, each movement rushed and quiet.
(Guys if Kodiak gets out I'll move this along)
(Ok. I'll keep going.)
Yuki walked up to Kodiak's cell. "What are you doing here?", he asked, his voice shaking. "I'm getting you out.", I replied. He started to protest, but I just yelled at him. I twisted the lock and broke it. "It's only a matter of time before an alarm sounds. You must get out now." He didn't move. "You shouldn't have done that." I glare at him. "Get out of here now. I honestly thought you cared about your life." He finally walked over to the cell door, though he didn't walk out. "You're putting your life in danger. Just leave me."
"I'm not leaving you. You're going to die in the gladiator battle. I can't believe you've already given up."
"Promise you won't die?", Kodiak's asked me. I nodded. A lie. He ran out.
(Noice.)
Armand could faintly hear the alarms sounding floors below, though he ignored it and continued to smile. Harrison's device blipped. "What is it?" she'd growl a little. Then listening. "Send guards down there immediately! Take care of whatever the Hell is going on. Kodiak? Wha-God Damnit!" She slammed the device down on her desk, then slammed her palm down, an icy glare piercing Armand. "I just wanted to talk to you about all of these changes you've been-"
"I KNOW you let the girl go, Armand." She cut him off. He furrowed his brows.
"She would have died in combat training, with the regimen you have. She didn't come-"
"I Don't care! I gave you an order, directly and you disobeyed, heck, refused! And now Kodiak is out. I'm blaming you for that."
Armand glared back at her with a challenge. "What are you going to do, kill me?" Harrison only smirked.
"Commander Nyir;" She spat into the mic, "Set up the arena. We're pushing up the battle."
Nyir stared at herself in the mirror. She looked even more exhausted than she felt. Eyes ringed with darkness, lips drawn, shoulders taught. A soldier. Nothing more. Sighing, she pressed her forehead against the mirror, relishing in the coolness of the glass against her skin.
"Commander Nyir," rang out suddenly, "set up the arena. We're pushing up the battle."
So, something had not gone to plan. Armand had definitely done something –something stupid. Like he always did. He was such a sap. Nyir pushed herself away from the mirror, taking one last look before she went to follow Harris' command. Armand had called her pretty.
"Pretty," she snorted, baring her teeth at her reflection. Then she headed down the halls, the sound of her boots echoing against the floors.
Rowan didn't know what to make of the blaring alarms, but she was certain they had to do with Yuki. But where could she have gone? Rowan was reluctant to get out of bed but did so anyways, stumbling out of her cell. "Armand?" She called out weakly, entering his office. No one was there. With a defeated sigh she retrevied her blanket and curled up in Armand's comfy office chair, awaiting the return of either Yuki or Armand, himself.
Yuki raced down the halls. The alarm sounded, its loud sound deafening. Yuki knew eventually she would die… either by an enemy or herself. I am a lier. I will not make it out of this compound alive. She turned to a dark hallway. One of the doors was open and she ran into it. The room was filled with weapons. It was the perfect place to hide. She crouched into a corner and sat unmoving.
"All officers to the arena immediately. Disband, gather all of the prisoners in custody, and move to the arena." Harrison would announce, pressing a button on her desk to call security. Two guards came in and gripped him by his arms; making his right arm ache a little bit. "My, won't you be a little less rough? Do you think I'm capable of escaping you big burly men?"
"Are you ready to die, Armand?" Harrison would ask in a slightly annoyed tone as they practically carried him down the hallways to the arena.
"Oh, I'd say I'm rather excited~" Armand would watch her with whirring golden eyes, deepening into a mental break. "I'm going to make it as hard for you to watch as possible.." He'd lick his lips as he trembled a little. "I'm going to cry out for you like I did all those years ago." He'd chuckle, gritting his teeth as he was tossed to the pavement by the guards.
Harrison knelt down in front of him and looked into his eyes. "Wow, you're really broken. I should have put you down months ago." Who is this person?? his thoughts cried What happened?!
"I was defective at the get-go.." He'd grumble.
Nyir wasn't about to oversee the arena herself. It was a hellhole. The bloodstains were enough to churn anyone's stomach. Instead, she backtracked, letting her lackeys set things up while she confronted Harris. She wasn't about to let Harris do anything and everything she wanted. Not without questioning it, at least.
"Madame President?" Nyir said as she stepped out of the elevator and into her office.
(Am I the president now? X3)
