(Alright.)
//I will call this ship - rytiago
(Lmaooo.)
Rylan pulled away, their faces only a few inches away. Her hands still rested on his shoulders. She smiled softly. "They’ll be okay. We won't let anything happen to them."
( haha rytiago)
Santiago forced a smile and nodded a tad. He got the overwhelming urge to kiss her, but didn’t think that the timing of it would be right.
Rylan smiled at Santiago, glancing towards the door. She looked back at him. "I'm sorry that you got in this mess. If I had met you a different way. . . maybe your family would be safe."
“It’s okay,” Santiago said softly. “I got myself into this mess on my own as well.”He hesitantly leaned down and lightly kissed her cheek. “We should, er, go get the food,” he stuttered, stumbling over his English.
"Uh, yeah. . ." Rylan faltered as she blushed. She tried to remember what she was saying. "The food, of course."
Rylan began to walk towards the kitchen, running a hand through her hair, something she did whenever she was nervous. Harlow's cat, Margarita, walked alongside them. She tried to distract herself to keep the heat from rushing to cheeks by thinking about Alec's threat.
Santiago smiled softly and hoped that he didn’t mess anything up. He turned and went towards the exit.
"Hey! That was awhile. Help yourself!" Harlow said, looking up. "Um, Rylan, are you okay?"
Santiago nodded and poured himself a glass of water.
"Oh yeah," Rylan looked up, smiling uncontrollably. "Just fine. Thanks for the food, Harley."
Santiago ran a hand through his hair and sipped the water, glancing at Rylan occasionally.
"So, what happened once we split up?" Rylan asked, turning towards Harlow.
“Not much. I wandered around for a few weeks, then found this old place,” she lifted an arm, gesturing. “I was at rock bottom at the time, so it was basically a savior. Then I made friends. Contacts. Learned how to get around. It went well. You?”
"Good to hear." She sighed. "Once I left, I made my way around the sectors, messing with the Republic. Going into airbases like old times." Rylan grinned, remembering the times she would go to some with Harlow. "But, I got caught and was going to get executed if it wasn't for Santiago over here."
Santiago made a soft smile and nodded slowly, finishing the rest of his water. He set the glass into the sink and went back to leaning against the counter. He imagined that he should give them alone time to talk, but he wasn’t sure.
Rylan glanced at Santiago and smiled. She turned back towards Harlow. "So, you just spent most of your times in bars. . . alone?" She grinned, raising a brow.
Santiago decided to excuse himself then. He explored the cabin, eventually finding a spare bedroom and bathroom. He decided to grab a quick shower, feeling how dirty his hair must have seemed.
“More or less,” Harlow laughed, watching Santiago leave the room. “Hooked up a few times, but nothing more than a one night stand. But really, let’s talk about you. What about you and Santiago?”
"What about him?" Rylan asked, leaning forward and resting her chin on the palm of her hand. She blushed at the mention of his name.
Santiago was about to get ready for the shower when his phone began to rang. He looked at the number, but it was a different number this time. He slowly picked it up and answered it. “Hello..?”
“Santiago, mi amigo!” A low voice exclaimed, and he recognized it as a friend from the academy.
“Nick? Jesus Christ, thank God! My parents are they okay?”
“Actually, I'm with them right now,” his friend said, but there was a menacing glint in his tone.
“Nick, are they okay?” He asked hesitantly.
“Well, I’m afraid that your father is unable to come to the phone at the moment, and your mother has fallen extremely ill. I’m watching over her right now, but it’d be a shame for her to pass under my watch, wouldn’t it, Santiago?”
Santiago felt horror grip in his throat. His own friend was betraying him like this?
