Santiago walked back over and stood by where Rylan sat. “Train leaves in a few minutes, so we have a second of time,” he said.
Santiago walked back over and stood by where Rylan sat. “Train leaves in a few minutes, so we have a second of time,” he said.
Rylan nodded, and brushed her wet hair from her face. She leaned against the bench's back. "Sorry you have to carry me so much. . ."
Santiago sat on the bench next to her and smiled. “It’s not a problem, it makes me feel stronger.” He laughed and slouched his shoulders.
"You'll be pretty strong then." She smiled, nudging his shoulder playfully.
“Hopefully,” Santiago said, there was an announcement that the train to Frisco was boarding now. “Come on, let’s go.”
She stood up and began to walk towards the train. It was still pouring, the rain freezing cold. Rylan walked next to Santiago, keeping her head low. The JumboTrons now had an updated picture of her reading that she had escaped. People in the streets pointed to them and looked around.
Santiago got onto the train quickly and moved toward the back. He let her go in the corner seat to try and further hide her appearance and he took the end seat.
Flynn started to make some research and told the officers to keep an eye on every border and tell her if something suspicious happens
She looked down at her feet, letting her dark hair fall around her face. So far, no one looked at her. The train moved down the tracks. Rylan out the window towards the JumboTrons.
A picture of a dark haired girl with amber eyes met her gaze. It read:
Rylan Devera. 16 years old. Enemy of the Republic. If found, contact Ruby Street Police immediately.
Rylan looked back down, not wanting to look at the rest of the screens. Her picture must be in every sector already.
“You should try and get some rest, it may be a while till we get there,” Santiago said softly, wanting to try and distract her.
Rylan nodded, staying quiet as she continued to look at the screens. She leaned back against the seat and looked at Santiago.
"Now you're going to get hurt." She murmured. "They'll be after you too. I want you to be safe, Santiago."
Flynn saw how many JumboTrons now showed Rylan's face, Flynn decided to go back to the computer area and check any movements in the city's borders
She saw how some trains where parting from their station, she decided to make futrher investigation about the trains and where were they heading
“I’ll be fine, okay? Don’t worry about me,” Santiago murmured. He leaned back in his seat as well and looked at Rylan.
Rylan nodded, but her eyes were full of worry. She looked down at her hands, letting her hair fall around her face.
Santiago wrapped his arm around her shoulders loosely to let her lean on him. “Get some rest.”
"Okay." Rylan murmured, leaning against Santiago. After a few minutes, her eyes closed and she fell asleep.
Santiago adjusted so he was leaning back slightly. His stayed awake for the rest of the train ride, unable to sleep because of the thoughts that clouded his mind.
Rylan woke to Santiago nudging her. People had already started to file out of the train.
“Rylan,” Santiago said softly. “We’re here, let’s go.”
Rylan nodded and stood up, rubbing her tired eyes. As they stepped out of the train, a gust of salty air blew past them. They were in San Francisco.
Rylan tied her hair back and slipped a cap on that she had gotten from the train. As they walked down the streets, she kept her head low.
Santiago breathed out and looked around. No one seemed to give them any looks, which was a good sign. “Let’s see if we can find a hotel room,” he said and walked down the road with her.
