Tanrial coughed as she came up and onto the shore line, nodded a little, "Yeah. Yeah yep I'm fine. You?" She asked once she'd got her breath back.
Tanrial coughed as she came up and onto the shore line, nodded a little, "Yeah. Yeah yep I'm fine. You?" She asked once she'd got her breath back.
"I think so." Bernon fell onto the grass beyond the beach, digging his fingers into the ground as if he intended to stay there forever. "What. The heck. Happened down there? And I thought Fear was scary when we first met her! She was nothing compared to that mess!"
(I'm off to bed, seya tomorrow!)
Tanrial let out a small laugh, shaking her head as she crawled up next to Bernon and flopped onto her back, "Dude.. that thing was huge. And those other things? I don't even know what they are."
(Okie! Seeya later!)
"Me neither! How do the villagers not know about this?" Bernon sat up, peering worriedly at the boathouses far off on the open water. "Man, I hope Mike got over there safely. How's your long-distance telepathy? Think you could reach him from way back here? I don't think I'm at that level of skill yet…"
"I can try." Tanrial pushed herself up onto her hands, looking over at the village. She closed her eyes, focusing in on Mike. Mike? Mike can you hear me?
There was a moment of silence, and then Mike's voice came back, faintly. Yes. Is that you, Tanrial? Where are you guys? I waited for you when I got to the boats, but you never showed up.
Tanrial breathed a sigh of relief. Oh thanks the gods. Sorry to worry you, we had a little bit of trouble and uh, got held help. We're on the other side of the lake.
What? Now Mike sounded concerned. What kind of trouble? Are you two all right?
It's a long story. We'll meet you at the tavern to explain. But we're okay. See you in a bit. Tanrial cut the link.
Do not swim back!! Bernon added urgently before they lost connection. Take a boat! Sitting up, he let out a long breath in an attempt to relax. "Well. So much for doing something relaxing to save our energy for tomorrow, amiright? Let's get inside."
(I gotta head to bed already, sorry, seeya later!)
Tanrial chuckled and nodded, groaning as she stood up, "Well, looks like we're going to have to walk all the way round the lake since we don't have a boat."
(All good, seeya soon!)
(oooh, nice new profile pic! ^^)
"Oh jeez. This lake's huge!" Bernon slumped, staring at the foggy distance of the other shore. "No, I refuse. This could take all night." Frowning, he thought hard for a minute, then straightened. "I know. You see that part of the shore right next to here, the part that turns into a cliff? Let's walk just to that point, then use it to launch off and fly the rest of the way. We should be back in no time if we do that, and anyway I need the practice. Fair enough?"
(Danke :) I was sick of looking at myself lmao)
Tanrial raised a brow, looking over to where Bernon meant before she shrugged and nodded, "All right, I don't see why not. I feel like it's been forever since I've flown."
(lol I get that feeling XD And flowers are always a good choice I think)
"Same here." Bernon started walking, leading them along the shore towards the cliffs. "I don't think I've flown since….the last time we ha a training session, way back before we attacked Ryker's base. But I pretty much remember the basics. You know, it's too bad Mike doesn't have wings too….then we could all fly to the west coast in, like, a matter of days. But I guess there's no point in wishing for it, and I really don't think it would be fun to try and carry him the whole way."
(I have a slight obsession with them atm, I did a painting the other day just of flowers but I love it)
Tanrial snorted, falling into step next to Bernon, "I mean we could share the load and you carry him for a few hours then I do. Kinda like a piggy-back ride or a dragon. But I feel like Mike would hate us."
(nice! Ah man I should do some painting, sounds fun >w<)
"Probably, yeah. And I'm barely practiced enough to carry my own weight, let alone someone else's." Bernon paused and glanced at the stunted trees beside them as he heard some birds calling out in alarm. "I sure hope there aren't any bandits on this side of the lake. Maybe we should keep our voices down, just in case."
(Time consuming and infuriating are other words for it - hot tip, don't paint butterflies)
She nodded a little, "Fair enough. I doubt there is though. We would have seen or heard them by now I think." They came to the edge of the cliff and Tanrial peered over the edge, "Think we're high enough?"
(lol okay, duly noted xD)
"I think so…." Bernon spread his wings, trying to make sure all his pockets were buttoned up so nothing fell out. "The wind seems pretty strong and steady, so that should help. I bet if we jump off the cliff, then circle a bit to gain altitude, we should be able to let the breeze carry us most of the way back. Ready?"
Tanrial stretched her own wings out, rolling her shoulders, "Sounds good, try not to fight the wind too much, otherwise you'll end up crashing into the lake and that's the last thing we want. On three. One.. two.. three!"
Bernon leaped off the cliff, trying not to swoop down too close to the water before catching the wind and rising back up. "Okay, he called, circling to get his bearings. "I'm up. Man, you can see everything from this spot. Although I tell you what, if we see another shipwreck or something in the water, I am not going down to investigate this time."
Tanrial chuckled, letting herself be lifted slightly above Bernon a few moments later so they didn't hit each other and send the other hurtling into the lake, "I wouldn't ask you too. At least we could tell Polla and the other how many shipwrecks they're living above. But gosh the view is amazing."
"Yeah….." Bernon admired the sky and land all around them with a smile. "I prefer it way up here. There's barely anything to worry about, besides rogue air currents and maybe a territorial bird or two. I can't believe how regularly I forget I can fly, especially considering how much I enjoy it."
(I have to go to work, so I probably won't be on again until tomorrow, sry)
(All good, see you tomorrow - stay safe)
Tanrial hummed softly, flying slightly higher so she could touch the clouds above them, "Me too, honestly. I guess with everything going on it isn't something we really should be thinking about. Although it'll come in handy for scouting and such as we travel west."
(Thanks ^^)
"True. That could be pretty fun." Bernon inhaled deeply, admiring the way the shadows of the clouds dappled over the lake and the nearby hills. "You know, it just occurred to me….we've been calling Snatch a forest beast this whole time, but she has wings like us, and none of her kind do—not that I've seen anyway. Do you think there's such a think as an…..air beast? A sky beast?"
