Bernon stifled a yelp and ducked down behind the rubble, closing his hand around his light to hide it. I'm going to assume you heard that too! What the heck was that!?

How should I know?! She blinked a few times, swimming behind a large rock not too far away, Maybe it was a ghost.
There was another, high pitched screeching, one that came from a few meters above them and carried down into the depths of the pit.
Gah, please don't say stuff like that!! Bernon ducked lower at the sound, then carefully peeked upwards, trying to spot whatever was making the terrifying sound. Do you see it?
Tanrial shook her head a little. Nope, I didn't see it. She looked around the corner of the rock. It went down into the pit, whatever it was. Either we follow it or make a dash for the surface.
Bernon immediately began to suggest they get out while they still could, but then he hesitated. What if it's another water beast, like Fear? If it's living here, it could be struggling to survive, or putting the villagers in danger. Don't you think maybe we should investigate? He didn't sound as if he liked the idea, but still suggested it out of a sense of duty.
Tanrial frowned a little, peering over the rock a little more and down into the depths. I suppose you're right,, we should make sure whatever it is, is okay.
There was another loud shriek, echoing up from down bellow followed by a chorus. Whatever was down there, it wasn't just one, simple water beast.
Bernon heard the sound and balked. Waitwaitwait! There's more of them!? Water beasts don't live in packs! I changed my mind, let's get the heck out of here!
(Lol Bernon isn't really a decisive leader is he xD)
(lolol, definitely not :D if only Mike were here)
Tanrial rolled her eyes, swimming to Bernon and taking his hand to drag him out from behind the rock. No, we're going to see what's down there, there is no back out now.
(Right? >w< He's probably wondering what the heck's taking them so long lol)
Ah man…. Bernon reluctantly turned around and followed so she wouldn't have to drag him, although he still looked ready to bolt at any second. Okay….but if they seem like they want to eat us, I won't hesitate to turn this flashlight back into lightning and zap them.
(I would too if I were him)
She cracked a small smile. I know, and I won't stop you.
Down and down they went, deeper into the abyss. Although the shrieking and the screeching could be heard loud and clear, there was still no sign of the creature that made such foul noises. That was, until, they nearly reached the bottom. A scaly, dark tail lashed out beneath them, the body of the beast hidden by the dark but the tail was pointed, and deathly sharp.
Bernon slowed warily. Careful….what the heck ARE they? Sea snakes? Swimming lizard monsters??
How should I know? I can't see it's face yet.
The tail shot out the other way, a deep rumbling coming from the creature. Then, it's head lowered into view. The enormity of the thing was quite impressive. The head seemed to be a cross between a dragon or some serpent, but the eyes resembled that of a sea lion. It snarled, exposing sharp teeth that would definitely devour them in seconds.
Yeah I'm… still at a loss for what this is.
Bernon chose to make an executive decision and grabbed Tanrial's arm, sending them rocketing up through the water until they were well out of grabbing range. He stopped outside the wreckage of the ship, letting go and preemptively sharpening his orb of lightning into a glowing knife. Okay, that was wayyyyy too close for my liking. Is it following us? There was an edge of terror in his voice that he was doing his best to control.
Tanrial took a moment to catch her breath, looking back down to see if the thing was in fact following them. I can't see it, but then again it might. It's too dark to see. Hey Bernon can you like, throw a spark of lightning down there to see if we can spot it?
Um…. Let me try. Concentrating, Bernon teased a strand of electricity off the end of his knife, carefully handling it so it didn't spread through the water. Rolling it into a marble shape, he leaned forward and gently tossed it downward into the gaping hole in the ship. The light floated down, cleanly illuminating the ship's interior as it went.
For a moment it didn't seem like the creature wasn't there. But then the light lit up its face, big, predatory eyes trained exactly on the two of them. There was a rumbling, and it moved, aiming to swim upwards at the two of them.
Bernon, I think it's time we headed to the docks.
You right. Bernon didn't need telling twice. Twisting around, he shot back up towards the surface, glancing back to make sure Tanrial was right behind him. Let's just hope it isn't interested in leaving the deep water to go after us!
It would take a stoke of luck for that. Just swim! Tanrial was right behind him, pushing up towards the surface. There was another loud shriek and something shot up after them, grabbing Bernon by the feet. It wasn't the beast, but something small and scaly. It had web like hands and a tail, a siren like creature only it didn't look human.
Bernon shrieked loud enough to rival the creature and kicked wildly, lashing out with his lightning knife. Tanrial, help!! I'm caught!
Tanrial cursed, swimming down. She kicked at the creature who in turn snarled and let go of Bernon, lunging at her instead, Shit help!
That does it! Bernon whipped around, holding his lightning aloft. Put yourself in a bubble or something Tanrial! I'm going to electrocute everything within twenty yards of us!
Tanrial only just had enough time to surround herself in a bubble, preventing whatever it was that had attacked them to grab her. Do it quick! I can see more of these things coming!
There was about six swimming up to join their friend in the attack.
Bernon encased himself in air as well, squeezed his eyes shut, and threw the lightning out into the water. As he did so, he allowed it to take its original shape once again, adding as much force to the release as he could.
There was the strangest sound, like a deep, muted pop, and the water got very very hot for a moment. It lit up with glittering shreds of electricity and sent a huge cloud of steam to the surface. Bernon covered his eyes, feeling somehow singed even though his bubble had kept him safe. You okay, Tanrial? Let's go now, while we have a chance!
Even underwater Tanrial felt like she was sweating, but she nodded to Bernon. I'm fine. Let's go! She swam upwards as fast as she could, putting as much distance between them and the creatures as possible.
Bernon followed, quickly bursting out of the water and scrambling onto relatively dry land. There he immediately doubled over, gasping for breath. "Oh jeez. Oh gosh, that was crazy. My legs are shaking. Are you sure you're all right?"
